The fact this episode was published at 0100 has never made dealing w/ insomnia so enjoyable! Thanks Andy for taking time out of your busy schedule to meet w/ Mike & Evan-it ain’t easy being the BRCC CEO.
Andy is the only reason BRCC is around, Evan never would have been able to get it done without Andy!!
@@reanukeevesaudont know I totally agree with that, I will say Hafer has some good buddies with big followings, but he’s a smart dude and businessman. These 3 guys are getting it done, awesome that they work together and a friends at the end of the day. Nothing but respect for what they have done and what they are doing.
@@MattLarkin-d2r Jesus christ it's a running joke about Andy being the real and only CEO of BRCC and Evan is a Fake CEO of BRCC. Shit man I'm just trying to have a laugh with other vets and I'm proud of what all of them are doing! Except Evan because he's a Midget and Donated to Democrats!! 😜
@@MattLarkin-d2rit was sarcasm. Andy gets mistaken as the CEO when he travels (but he’ll claim the title if people ask him), so the running joke is that he’s the real CEO.
@@MattLarkin-d2r is this Evans 🔥 burner?
As a former heroin and fentanyl addict I can confirm Evans hypothesis. The over prescription of addictive opioids and then the subsequent corrections of not prescribing nearly as much created a void In the drug market that the cartels took advantage of which led us to the fentanyl crisis. I started with pills then I couldn't find those and had to move to street drugs. Burned bridges with my family then started living on the streets of Detroit (close to the drugs) the story was the same with nearly all other homless addicts around me. I'm 26 years old. 2.5 years clean
There's also the option of having the discipline to stop taking the pills. I was on them for four years from the VA. They suddenly stopped giving them. So I just stopped taking them. It was a month of feeling like shit, but never did it cross my mind to bang fetanyl or heroin. Made an adult decision to deal with the withdrawals. Everyone can point fingers all they want, at the end of the day, it's choice. Glad you're clean, however it's all about choice.
@@JR-wo3sn yeah well there are a lot of factors that go into something like that. I was a young kid that was swayed into turning to the heroin when I was 17. The first time I got sick from the pills I didn't even know what was happening to me. I was young and scared not fully realizing what I got myself into and I had that herion readily made available to me when they realized I was in a vulnerable spot. Btw I snorted the heroin when I started which is a way more appealing way to a young man and doesn't seem as aggressive. What I'm getting at is that it isn't always as simple for other people like it was for you. I went through hell during my addiction trying to find my footing and get my shit together. At no point did I want to be there
I’m glad you made it out. One day at a time, my friend.
Congrats getting out man. You got this
@@Ceasefirestories1776 Good for you hero.
If only all those doctors, scientists, addictions specialists, psychologists, and psychiatrists had asked you, they could have kept addiction off of the list of fatal diseases.
Shit, just quit. Problem solved. Brilliant.
Now if we could just get those damn weak minded bipolar losers, and those ridiculous diabetic assholes to just quit being bipolar and diabetic, the national debt could be solves in a matter of weeks.
I struggled with addiction for 25+ years before I finally got a handle on it. How and why I finally got a grip doesn't matter. The fact is that addiction has been proven irrefutably to be a fatal disease. It's hereditary and it's literally beyond the control of people truly afflicted with it. The fact every once in a while some guy comes along and is able to stop using drugs or alcohol through "just choosing" only proves that you don't have the addiction gene or whatever the hell it is. Of the millions and millions of people who all have struggled, and died. Like actually knew they were killing themselves and just could *NOT* stop themselves. But the few people who were able to just walk away from it, to talk about how it's a simple matter of will, is the height of ignorance. It's literally like a person who's never broken their leg telling a guy with a compound fracture to his femur
that he just needs to stop being such a pussy and get up and walk. Because you twisted your ankle once and "know what it's like."
It's absolutely awesome that you were able to walk away from opioids with minimal issues. But throw such ignorant misinformed bullshit around to people who are dying is beyond irresponsible.
It's no different than if I started telling combat veterans that P.T.S.D. is just a matter of forgetting about it and manning up. Because I had a traumatic experience or two and have been able to push through it, in no way gives me the right, the education, or what have you to go telling guys who haven't been able to move past their own trauma that because I did it, they should be able to.
Hafer is the man, I’ve got NOTHING but respect for these 3 dudes. Can’t get enough of BRCC. I’d love to pick these guys brains and shake their hands. STUMPF GLOVER HAFER, respect and love from Canada.
Poor Mike always getting his balls busted. 😂 He takes it like a champ. I admire the loyalty of these 3 human beings. It would be legit to as Mike would say, Break bread with these Gentlemen. Thank you for your service Andy, Mike, and Evan 🫡🇺🇸
Boys, Starlink satelites are not geosynchronous they're much faster than that and much closer to earth's surface, the reciever they use has an electronic phased array antenna like the ones on the nose of F35s to instantaneously switch links between starlink satellites zooming by overhead, that's what allows the internet connection to be much faster and stronger than other Satelite internet. Aerospace Engineer here, love u guys
Thanks for the info!
“That’s probably classified “ and Mike slowly looks at the camera! 😂🤣😂
I love when the three of you get together. I will stop whatever I am doing just to listen to you guys sit around and BS. Great podcast as usual.
Thanks you 3 for always taking time to mention law enforcement guys and gals in a fair and supportive light. Its always appreciated. From a medically retired K9 dude 🐕🦺👍
I wanna thank Andy for making sure we all didn't go jump off a cliff. I love these episodes. They are by far my favorite but this one was easily the most depressing. Thanks Mike!
I agree with Mike. There are many people looking for mentors who can motivate them into self reflection. We are not looking for people to idolize but rather voices with coherent chains of thought. It's more like teaching to critically think vs parrot talking points. Appreciate you guys.
I live in Playa Vista, CA (heart of LA). It will blow your mind what the vagrants/crazy/homeless are allowed to do. I live among this mess and see it. Friends of mine from other countries say that these area are the worst slums in the world.
Of course there is upside in CA. My family and I live well above average here in Los Angeles. But, the first break in my professional career we are out of here asap.
The mayor of LA and gov of CA spit in the face of the taxpayers here. They spend billions and only increase the homeless population. (of course, they incentivize this behavior).
We just recently had a huge fire that caused damage to the I-10 highway. This fire was started by a homeless encampment. There is "homeless" under every over pass in LA. They start fires to stay warm at night, jerry-rig electrical connection to light posts etc.. This fire that will cost CA taxpayers millions is caused by the Ca's refusal to do anything about "homeless". The state of CA is going to do everything possible to hide the fact that this was caused by poor management of the homeless.
They say homelessness is a victimless crime. That is crap. The damage to the I-10 if proof. In fact 50% of the fires that spread and get out of control in LA are started by homeless encampments.
Before moving here I had never seen any person poo/urinate in a public space, use drugs in public space, have sex in a public space and jump trash in the middle of the streets. Anyone of these actions can be seen seen daily, 365 days a year...
I know, just leave. I will eventually. But, for the folks that live in other states beware of any crap CA is exporting to you. What they are saying in this podcast are true and are 100 times worse in person.
The Trifecta of Leadership 🇺🇸 Thank you 💪🏻
As a vet, i enjoy your banter with one another. Great job dealing with the issues of our country. I went thru skid row about 30 years ago, it was heartbreaking then too.
Andy and Evan are so wise and mature. It genuinely makes me happy Mike hangs and has these talks. Mike has his finger on the trigger way too often. Andy is the wisest Seal there ever was I think. He would be a great President. Also, guys, RFK is the only candidate trying to fix the corruption and re-establish the feee market.
Mike, I am a California resident and I could not have illustrated better than you did with the story of skid row for how fucked these laws are
You being a California resident doesn’t mean anything. Unless you live on skid row or have to walk by it everyday to get to work, it doesn’t affect you in any way whatsoever.
@@GeorgeCostanza_don’t bother with these types. I was born, raised, and still live in Los Angeles. Skid Row, Venice, and Hollywood are NOT what the rest of the county and city look like. There’s a lot wrong with things Mike has presented here, but I don’t have the time to go line item by line item.
Except skid row has been skid row for 30 years. I know because skid row was skid row when I was a kid back in the '80s. But yeah it's today's policies lol
Thank you. All of 3 of you, seriously. The breadth of experience, intellect and integrity in that room is astounding. I know it sounds like I’m gargling their balls… because I am, it’s well deserved. I hope you guys see this before UA-cam deletes my comment. HOWEVER… no offense to Mike and Andy, but HOLY SHIT what I would have given to hear Evan and Eric Weinsten’s conversation!
What an uplifting podcast to start my day to.
You guys are inspirational by far the best group of guys and family I know. Thanks
I know Mike doesn’t like the saying “People are getting what they voted for.” But, it is exactly the truth. The voters were warned of the negative potentials of Prop 47, Prop 36 and AB109 by every Police Chief and Sheriff in the state. They didn’t listen.
Here’s a challenge for people. Did you vote in the last presidential election? Did you vote in your last mid-term election? Did you vote in your last local election? Can you name your mayor or county supervisor? Can you name your state legislative representatives? What is the name of your US congressperson? What is the name of your two US Senators?
I love that they just have a normal conversation. It's OK to disagree with who you're talking to. If you can't handle hearing the other side of things, then grow up some more before shouting your beliefs. I'm passionate about my beliefs as any person, but it's on if someone else doesn't. Love BRCC. Sending love from Boise, Idaho.
Need to air this on public TV for Americans to hear and see.
I love that when you voice these topics out in the wild (aka cities) you are immediately brushed aside as an idiot and called "old man", "conspiracy nut", or any other insult that the other side screams to shut you down. I truly appreciate opinions different from my own. Amazing accomplishments always come from when people of different backgrounds or ideologies leave their egos outside and just listen to each other.
The argument I heard with the 0 bond was that if your poor you have to stay in jail but if you have money you could get out. Personally I think if the crime was bad enough bond shouldn’t be allowed. The 0 bond thing to me is crazy.
Best podcast period!
This podcast episode is exactly the reason I pay attention to you three.
Just came across this channel, subscribed! Lol really enjoy the comradery amongst the guys. Thank you! 🇺🇸
I’ really love the Synesso they use at Wormhole Cafe in Chicago, I need to get into a shop, I’m hoping you offer a house espresso and then also carry a guest each week of different brands. But who knows. I ordered merch, I really wanted just a BRCC shirt but bought something with a really sick logo on the back and a bunch of coffee to support BRCC as well well as Cleared Hot and then I went and bought some Ironclad Change Agents merch to support the platform as much as possible. You guys are leading the charge!
I love seeing veterans stay together and make good times for eachother lol
This is excellent three guys to listen too, very entertaining 😊👍
I f****** love Andy so smart not there to tell us the world is going to hell and a handbasket He's honest and a good dude.
Thank you Heston
I could watch the trio every week !!!
Love your podcasts!
I finally discovered your coffee ☕️
OMG! IT IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!
Thank you for branding, making, and distributing. Lol 😆 I buy it by the case. No more big box coffee for me. My adult daughter buys it now and keeps it in her car for those, "You know it's going to one of those days."
My backup is in my desk drawer.
You nailed it! It's so smooth
Thank you for your service, your podcast, and getting the TRUTH out.
I really appreciate Mike and what he has to say
Nothing better than having a conversation about current events/politics/world events/etc. and just sharing points of view. Nobody has to win....just kinda turning it over in your head. I miss those from pre-pandemic work and social interaction. The extra time afforded to me because of telework and being online......lots of rabbit holes and things that should be bounced off people with different opinions that are capable of having those conversations. The goal is to use your mind, have fun, be social, maybe have a couple beers or whatever, and still be friends at the end of the night. No hurt feelings!! The other thing that is fun is talk about personal stuff.....how much fun it is to be a dad, how hard it is, how coaching your kids in sports was a hilarious minefield of subterfuge and misdirection! Great job guys. Have a great weekend!
"It's like a Sauna for Peasants" after all the depressing shit thatnwas said in this podcast, that actually had me laughing for a good 2 minutes.😂
It's so nice to see the founder and CEO of BRCC sit down with Evan and Mike. 😂 great show guys
Golden retrievers are often more intelligent that many ‘expert’ guests on news channels.
Awsome show guys.
I like what Evan said about “shoveling the tide“.
Y'know, as good as I know these podcasts are going to be just by virtue of the trio you three still surprise me, every damned time. As a California native who ended up back here in northern LA county from The Rockies for family reasons (palliative caretaking for my grandmother) I've been trying to parse what the hell is happening in the state, and Mike's LA videos and now this discussion are prooving quite...enlighteningly comforting, I suppose, all be it in a rather grim way. I couldn't believe how bad it was three years ago when I first returned - I'll never forget driving along the 210 at the height of covid, seeing a tent city along the side of the road several miles long that looked and smelled as bad as anything in a third world country, and trying (and failing miserably) to parse it with my memories of LA from the 90s and early 2000s - and it's only getting worse, but in the old "boiling a frog" analogy sense it's hard not miss just how bad it is continuously becoming, especially because of the weird sort of...gaslighting, for lack of a better term...that seems to come from all sides.
On the one hand the locals of all stripes and creeds seem to be in a weird, almost trance like denial over how bad it is, just looking the other way while people shoot up or blaze narcotics on the sides of the road and in doorways of businesses or wander the streets in droves muttering and twitching, and the entire atmosphere of the place is growing progressively more and more suffocatingly oppressive. On the other hand people I speak to from outside the state either deny the problem outright or do the "well the idiots get what they voted for" response, depending on their preferred news outlet and political party, which shows a level of respective delusion or callousness that blows my mind. Most of the people I'm around passionately and vocally didn't vote for any of this and, in private moments, will disclose how heartbroken, numb, and increasingly hopeless they feel as they watch their state dissolve into chaos, and yet their lives, businesses, metworks, communities, memories, and all the rest are here so it isn't a matter of simply packing up and moving on, as much as they would increasingly like to. Granted it may very get to that, and rather fast depending on the way the politics goes, but as it stands the disintegration is just slow enough that people can keep their head down, do the grind, and hunker down with their families and communities to keep chugging along and looking the other way as things keep getting worse...
All of which is to say I deeply appreciate the compassionate, well articulated, and savvy outside perspective you three are putting down - I haven't heard its equal, and the ratification of my own observations and experiences, as an outsider of sorts stuck in the proverbial mud, of just how bad this dumpster fire is proving to be is...comforting, I suppose. Cold comfort, granted, but beggars can't be choosers so I'll take it gratefully. Thanks a million, and keep it up...
RFK is the only presidential candidate in history that is openly calling out corruption in the government. I pray he gets a chance man. Praying.
The boys are back in town!
A good friend of mine looked at my moustache and said, "Have you considered growing a beard instead of just the 'tache?" I replied, "not really, why?" His answer has lived with me ever since, making me smile every time it comes up, "It'd hide more of your face!" Just thought I'd share his wisdon with you 😜
Excellent discussion throughout gents. I miss the Cali I grew up in the late 60s and 70s. Holding the line in Northern Idaho. Anyhow, keep rocking these podcasts.
Love these with the three of you! 👍🔥
I actually watched Mike's coverage on Skid Row and I was shocked by what he stated here. How could it be so much worse than what I saw with my own eyes? I hated LA when I travelled through there 25 years ago and apparently it's gotten impressively worse.
one of the best episodes you guys did
“Skid Row” is a section of Downtown LA. It’s approximately southeastern portion. “Central LA” is just a portion of LA and “Central Division” is just the name of the police station.
P.S. so many people don’t bring up the fact that a portion of LA’s homeless are people from out of state. Alaska’s governor literally admitted to almost doing that from advice he received from other governors.
precisely. Also, SKID ROW (metal band) were very good at their peak 🤘
In terms of Evan's question, its both. The term "skid row" goes back several centuries in the US, and lots of states/cities have a "skid row" area, but just in LA it refers to a specific neighborhood.
@davidoconnor1773 "Skid Row" is not a neighborhood. At one point, the homeless in LA were located in a small section/area and yes, there's a difference.
@@MiguelGonzalez-ei9og i don’t think you read correctly what I wrote

Unfortunately you’re still thinking military
I was born in LA 70+ years ago. It was spectacular from 1950-85. Great from 85-2000, so, so and not great until 2010. 2010 - 2019 very bad. Since just heck and a $hit-pile.
The NGO’s are a huge problem. And the over-reaction to Rx pain meds problem isn’t helping anyone and it’s crippling people with real chronic pain.
Some, a small % of homeless are the result of reasonable pain control Rx meds, to nope/no more/none and we’re sorry.
Most, vast majority of the addicts are also and were mentally ill, first
I really enjoyed this
Always great content 🤙🏼BRCC 🎙️
Clancy Iverston who was one of the oldest members of AA used to run Skidrow, and I believe they still help people there. I don’t know any fentanyl user that wants to be on it the problem is, nothing is strong enough to relieve the effects of fentanyl withdrawal. I was so fortunate to get sober from it. I’d love to come on and talk about what street drug use is really about and the mindset of users and the legal system and the fighting against drugs.
Knew of all these cats but the first time I came across this podcast. Definitely subscribing.
Mike, thanks for sharing the truth what's going on. I prefer to get news from you guys vs the lamestream media. Next trip...hit the streets of Philly. It's heartbreaking. We the people have to work together to come up with solutions. It's clear congress on both sides of aisle have no desire. Happy to help anyway I can. I don't know where to start other than joining with like-minded folks.
It’s depressing conversations but important. These are guys young men need to emulate. GWOT guys have the experiences necessary to wake people up. Fought in war to protect the American idea against individuals who sought our destruction. Just for political figures to use tragedy and war as a means of attaining profit and wealth. Hard conversations are necessary
"homelessness is not the issue, it's drug addiction" - Everyone that has any logical sense easily comes to this same conclusion after viewing this first hand. And yet, politicians will try to tell you it's a housing problem.

Too dispel a myth about jailhouse rehab, it’s not really a thing. Sure people might get some “help” with their addiction, but the only way an addict gets clean is if they WANT to get clean. You can’t sentence someone into kicking a drug addiction. Especially since it’s probably as easy, if not easier, to get drugs in the state penitentiary than it is on the street.
Horrific, tragically sad, thoughtful and funny AF-in that order🤙🏼🇺🇸

A little late to the party….? Skid row has been a living hell for as long as I can remember. I was down there in 2014 and it wasn’t to just check the place out. Pure mayhem.

It used to be that only land owners could vote. We should make a concerted effort to bring that back. We should be very choosey with whom gets the right to vote with such open boarders.
I think the problem in general is that government wants us to rely on them for their sustenance. For a majority of people, we are born in a society, raised in a society, sent to school to adapt and learn how to integrate ourselves into society, and feed the machine, and continue to be a cog in the massive machine of society. And government is basically the administrator/orchestrator of this government and over our lives in this society. They teach us what is relevant in our community to be reintroduced back into it into the workforce after getting an education. In lower income communities, the schools might stop at high school since they only need that level of education to have a functional workforce. In other areas, they might need a minimum of a bachelor's, and maybe a masters would be preferred for the types of jobs in that other community, and therefore that's what is focused on the success of that community. The societies we live in don't want us to be independent, to be able to thrive and survive on our own. They want us to be dependent on the machine, so we can continue to make it go around. This all sounds crazy. But we as a society aren't taught any more how to cook, how to hunt, how to shoot, how to do anything, that doesn't benefit them. They want us to shop at grocery stores, buy our foods at restaurants, get our cars fixed at auto shops not know how or be able to fix the cars ourselves, and on and on. This is a new world that is trying to make us more and more dependent on the government and the city. It's an image I can loosely see as Neo when he woke up in the pod and realized we were all slaves to the machine.
How ready are we as a society to just walk away from our jobs, grab our bags and our guns, and walk out into the wilderness (which most is now paved over today), and just hike out and live off the land? Probably a very small number. Farmers, hunters, and military are generally going to be the only ones with those skills for that. The rest in society are the ones in their cars with no spare tires, never being taught how to change a tire, waiting on AAA to come save them. That's what government today (within the last 20 years or so) has raised us all to be. Sheeple. And more and more of the government programs are being designed to directly benefit the sheeple, since that's what's going to keep them dependent, and keep the other people in power since they're the only ones that can take care of things. At least, that's what they want us to believe.
One hell of a trifecta fellas, you three need your own show on tv. Very entertaining and sobering too unfortunately.
