Absolutely awesome! Hand tools are very satisfying not to mention allow you to have a radio on or have a conversation.

A dream chair to own the original. The wishbone as you note is much clunkier on yours but probably much stronger too. When i see fakes at auction I always look at that piece and the hardware. Awesome work.

The chairs look very good. Well done.
I know the frustration of dings and scratches on components which are meant to be completed. "Murphy" does like to knock things off my work areas.
    I love using my spokeshaves.
Good luck with the weaving. I have not tried this. I expect a decent learning curve like many things.

Thank you I am looking forward to the weaving. I worked on the pre- calculation steps to figure out how many warp runs I need and how much cord I need per seat.

Tom, yourare doing a great job!!! Fun to watch your working and narration style. I would suggest that while laying out the indents for the hinges, use a marking knife first to make your chisel wall.

I enjoy seeing your projects Tom, I appreciate you blending the use of hand tools in your work flow. I too have a love of hand tools and enjoy seeing them used in conjunction the Shopsmith.

Looking so good, Tom! Man, that chair looks like something that would snap under my weight. Any idea if it was engineered to support a particular weight range? Scott

I don’t know the weight limit, but I will not be sitting in theses. These were designed as flexible seating for small European apartments in the 1940’s. In other words perfect for a thin twenty-something.
