Many women are attracted to men like Lex, until they marry him, then they want to slow him down and get his attention less on his work and more on them, which only leads to him having frustrations and unhappiness. @@thezu9250 I am _not_ saying it is toxic for a woman to want to spend time with her partner. You are arguing against something that is not being said.
A am saying that highly driven men need a woman who will not try to control or suppress them, but rather, a woman who understands the man's highly driven nature and supports him in his endeavours.
Some men are highly driven and they should not be held back. If well managed, their drive is a benefit to themselves, those around them, and to their communities, even to their nations and the world.
People who are highly driven, or "workaholics" as you term them, _need_ to work. It is unhealthy for highly driven people _not_ to work. They need to work to gain a sense of fulfilment.

@Ali Chaudhry Yes, you worded that very well; better than I did. I know several such highly driven men. One is one of my masonic mentors. He is on the boards of prisons, hospitals and numerous organisations. He lecturers and teaches and is busy every day into the late evenings, all over our country and overseas. His wife fully supports him in all his work, cheerfully travelling with him almost everywhere and living in hotel rooms, ensuring everything he needs organised is done. Another similarly highly driven mason's wife does the same thing, like a secretary and personal assistance, scheduling his diary and doing all his organising so that he is free to focus fully on his work. (There are many such highly driven men in freemasonry, along with easy going men like me, of course.) Such highly driven men need a special sort of woman, a similarly highly driven helpmate who understands and is willing to provide what her man needs. Together, such marriages make a formidable team and can achieve in one lifetime what many more normal people cannot achieve in even many lifetimes.

Lex is the prime example of a Nerd becoming cool now.
He’s going to get out of his Tesla, in which he was practicing his guitar upon seeing an argument between two people, he will proceed to get both sides, and try to calm them down.
But as soon as one threatens violence, Lex is going to instantly choke him out, and give him lessons on how to control his emotions better, and better his life.
The police will arrive, as Lex’s gets back into his electric car, blasting lofi-hip hop.
As both men, try to tell the police what just happened.
Who wind up getting arrested for driving under the influence, as there’s no reality in which a lofi hip hop fan resolves a violent situation.

It's relatively safe to assume that, as highly social pair-bonding mammals, the vast majority of people have this motivation. Because the vast majority do. Cuz we're made of DNA and it kind of has this singular priority of replicating. So. Mystery solved.

Its not a requirement but I can tell you from my work with people of all ages in therapy that as a 20year old no one cares and doesnt understand deep life goals to feel whole, at 30 to 40 a career and hedonism(not meant in a bad way) fill the gap but at 50 above people start to feel they have missed out badly regarding a family life with kids and when I go into my 65+ bracket near every single or late into relationship without kids is depressed about that fact and I mean deeply depressed and in regret.
Its something we often only feel when its too late in how substantial it is to feel whole in old age. But you cant and shouldnt force anyone and these two just make good hearted fun of their good friend.

@@NegatingSilence you're talking about this as if it is some genetical disease lol. DPSD is literally an issue brought onto people by themselves by re adjusting their sleep patterns to deal with hormonal adolescent changes or simply just too many late nights watching TV and playing games. DPSD causes depression - not one account I've ever heard of as DPSD being a SOLUTION for depression. It's a coping mechanism for whatever reason you don't to partake in a normal waking cycle. What job have you got now that allows you to sleep all day? Give us more info if you want us to believe its truly beyond your help and you're destined to live through the nights lol.
You best believe DPSD didn't exist centuries ago. And guess what, you can completely change it. Don't hide behind it and act like you're broken - you're MEANT to fight the disorder and get aligned to the normal sunlight based circadian rhythm lol. How old are you? Don't overthink your mental state until you're 25ish. You might think waking up earlier and going bed earlier is making you 'depressed' but that's just your initial response to change.
Why am I even wasting my breath anyway - one day you'll look back like all of us and laugh at the idea of thinking you were doing yourself good staying up til 4am every night.
Guess what, I've had periods of my life where I also woke up early everyday and wanted to kill myself, and staying up til 5am made me feel good because of the activities I was doing and other factors. That isn't something LOCKED for life. But what is, is your bodies natural response to the sun. DPSD doesn't change that. There's other things going on if the pattern that involves engaging with daylight causes you suicidal thoughts but it's not DPSD my man. I know a lot about this topic...
If I had a nickel for everytime some modern doc convinced me I had some incurable disorder... lol I've heard it all, I'm bipolar, sleep disorder, this that. Point is, be truthfull to yourself, don't bother, it's not your fault for being who you are, because you can be perfect and still can't get a woman no matter what. Dating pool gets smaller and smaller the more successful you get. And Lex is on top of his game in almost every aspect of life…career, fitness, education, intellect. So to find a partner who’s just as on top of their game and successful in life, is no small feat. As a woman, I’m intimidated by him haha but I find him very sweet, but I am not nearly as successful. Plus having compatible schedules is especially key.
Also I feel like the friend circles he keeps are predominantly guys, and probably hyper masculine like him…and those kind of circles tend to draw hyper feminine women like models, influencers etc (I.e. why football players tend to date models). It’ll tend to be the case that these aren’t the type of women he would be attracted to since he values a deep intellectual connection.
It’s a tricky situation for him, but hey he seems to enjoy it so.
EDIT: when I say dating, I mean dating for marriage in this context. I understand for men if you just want to date for fun there’s a ton of options.

My best friend is like this, 40s, single, living alone for stints in his own house whilst also living over the weekends with his parents.
We don't speak about dating that much, he still tries to date but I don't think he puts that much effort into it.
He told me once he doesn't want kids, so I get it.
He has tons of hobbies we share, but he has much more time than me for them.
Honestly, i wouldn't trade places with him, but I really get it. Sometimes he texts me at 5am with pictures of something he's working on or a video game he is playing.
And while I'm fortunate enough to have found quite literally the best wife I could find, and have a wonderful family that understands my hobbies, there's no way in hell i could stay awake until 5am playing video games and and be a functional adult/parent the next day lol
Not all of us are the same, and that's ok.
