Oh, a hidden staircase to the attic. We had one when I was a kid and we moved to my grandparents home. The attic had so many fun things to discover! Books, sheet music, instruments, clothes, etc. Unfortunately, you have holes up there. I hope you can get that fixed soon! ❤

Wow I didn't think your yard could look that good so fast! I know that Jake, LE, Ben, Steph, and Buddy worked really hard to clean up the cut tree stumps, the branches, and the straggly needles and tree pieces! But it still looked pretty rough, and beat up! But I think when Steph mowed the grass she really straightened out the mess, and it looks good! 💞

Very impressive work on the generator! I use that blue stabilizer on old or bad gas in my portable generator and lawnmowers. I like my cordless tools more and more. 80 volt interchangeable weedwacker, leaf blower and a chainsaw. No gas required.
Buddy, Steph, To help preserve the future of the muscadine vines, maybe you could educate Brea, Jake, L.E. or anyone else about the location and the importance of trying to preserve those vines as much as possible during any future clean-ups or land clearings.

I know you either had or have the adjuster coming out for the roof, just some advice (you may not need it though) if they try to lowball what they will give for the roof, do not be afraid to disagree with their assessment. I have friends that lost their roof during Ian and they argued with their adjuster because they were low balling. Some insurance companies will do that because they know people want their homes back to normal and they will just accept what they are told, My friends ended up getting what the going rate for a new roof was minus their deductible of course, and others did too, so don't be afraid to disagree! Here in Virginia, there is a 15-foot easement right that the county is responsible for . A tree that is close to the road is the responsibility of maintaining it and keeping the homes safe. Yes , homeowners insurance will also kick in,nonetheless, there is another tree still there, and the county should make sure that it is healthy enough to withstand rough incoming weather. I don't know how all that works in Texas, that's why I am asking... Love Y'ALL ❤❤❤

At Rona (Lowes) I got for less than $2 each, these plastic boxes that fit over the light fixtures in the attic, so they don't get wet. But thinking about that, it wouldn't do anything for water running along the ceiling... Just a thought.
Water can follow the edge of a board, a seam in the Sheetrock, etc. We had a wet spot on the ceiling of our laundry room that took us a while to figure out where the water was traveling from. The actual leak was a ways away from the wet spot on the ceiling.
If you run a string from the holes to the bucket, the water will follow the string into the bucket. An old trick my 89yo Dad taught me years ago. ❤
