Walter Simonson had a cool silent issue during his run on Orion - issue #5. It's a big brawl between Darkseid and Orion with great lettering by John Workman.

I love Thomas Ott silent comics. All comics I've come around from him are silent and white over black, a real master of the craft
I myself did a short all splash pages silent story on a fanzine around 15 years ago. I should find a copy and send it to you guys.

One of my favorite wordless pieces is the sword fight in Cerebus: Minds. Consumed in a monthly format those issues disappeared in seconds (and kinda made you question the comics cover price) but read in one sitting or in novel format and that whole section plays out like slow mo. Excellent.

The Milligan Allred X-force Letters page was vicious when they first took over the book. I'll never forget the "Archie rejects" insults directed towards the great Mike Allred.

I just finished drawing my attempt at a wordless comic today.

Steranko's first 3 pages in Nick Fury Agent of SHIELD #1 was inspirational for Hama. Marvel didn't want to pay Steranko for writing those 3 pages because there were no words written.

Codex Seraphinianis may be what Ed was referencing rather than the Voynich - well worth checking out

The woodcut novels are mentioned in other comments; my favorite is Gods' Man by Lynd Ward and it's all "splash pages" too.
I'd also recommend The Magic Lantern by Guido Crepax, about 100 pages of wonderfully elaborate, twisted fantasy. One more: Light by Greg Irons, almost like an animated Fillmore dance poster. When you take out the words, a comic can lean into the rhythm of the successive images and the story is akin to a dance performance.

The new 52 Batman and robin #18 is silent and it’s one of my favorite Batman books
    The art is gorgeous

That’s probably the strongest issue in that run and definitely the strongest out of the Robin RIP issues.

One of my fundamental wordless comics, must the anthology "Comix 2000! by L'Association. A huge compilation of wordless stories from all over the world.

There is an issue of Guy Gardener that is mostly wordless. Last page has two words.

Man, I have at least half of those books on my self and probably read the other half at least once. I wrote and drew a graphic novel that was both silent and only splash pages last year. That shit's tough!

The one that changed my life and made me want to draw comics was was the 70's classic "Night Of The Stalker" by Steve Englehart and Sal Mendola! Later redone as "Deja Vu" by Darwyn Cooke.

I picked up that Grendel (#9 - Comico) issue because of this video ... we all know how awesome Grendel is but this issue may be my favorite issue that I have in my collection ... that splash page at the end is insane (!!!)

The wordless novel feels connected too. Frans Masereel and Laurence Hyde are great examples of this form. (Y’all probably already know this stuff but I’m still trying to catch up on the channel.)

A lot of people in comics link those wordless woodcut novels. Makes sense to me. This is a big topic. There's a bunch of wordless picture books too. Fuel for future shows! - Jim

This all goes back to Otto Soglow’s The Little King etc. - every generation of creators has fun with this idea, which probably means it’s timeless. Request: Please put David Mazzuchelli’s adaptation of Paul Austers "City Of Glass" under the microscope - my favorite 9-panel grid comic

I just reread the latest From Hell Master Edition #7 which contains chapter 10 "The Best of All Tailors" which although not wordless contains several extended wordless sequences ending in genius like fashon with "Netley, wake up " coz the whole things like a ghastly dream . . . contains several pages of Moores script for the wordless sequence too

17:11 i think Ed is referencing the Codex Seraphinianus, not the Voynich. The Seraphinianus went unexplained for a long time but has in recent years been attributed to a specific artist. There’s articles about it online if you’re interested.

The fun thing is when you watch a cool video and you already own all the things they show in the video because you love them. Great video. Codex Seraphinianus by Luigi Serafini is what you were talking about I think. I have that as well, such a fun book.

Marvel's 'Nuff Said books were a response to 9/11, IIRC. The books themselves were hit or miss. New X-Men #121 by Morrison/Quitely and X-Force #123 by Milligan/Allred were standouts.
The same month, Marvel did a one-shot called Moment of Silence that has some silent short stories. Kevin Smith/Romita Jr. on one of them. Triple duty for JRJR with this and both Hulk and Amazing Spider-Man from 'Nuff Said.
Moment of Silence also has a pinup by Rafael Kayanan.
