Couldn’t there just be a clause on the law stating that if an artist meets the other criteria the number of active years needed to be qualified could be overruled or reduced to XX amount of years? Cause let’s be honest, these companies will def try to find loopholes to get in. Is BigHit part of the association also? Wonder if they’d fight to get their next artists the same...
Basically What happened in baby words All k companies :idols who brings exposure to Korea deserve military exception Bighit, bts, army:😴 😴 Korean government :sets the bts law All k companies : Lower the standards this is impossible to achieve no idol will achieve it in their 20ies Bh bts army:😴 😴
These companies scapegoated BTS hard during this entire thing. Big Hit/HYBE didn't even take part in the lobbying for the postponement for idols. Now these companies are just being greedy IMHO. They should just concentrate on treating their artists better as well as training and promoting their idols more. Maybe after that then they can go back to the government and politely ask. They sure as heck need to keep BTS' name out of their mouths.
What Danny said is fair. The bar is still very high but can be attainable. These groups work their asses off and bring benefits to Korea - money wise, attention wise. I am wondering if these other entertainment exemptions even have the same economic impact as the Kpop industry? Honest question because I do not know. To clarify when I say other entertainment exemptions I am talking athletes and classical musicians. I really would like to know if they bring in the same amount of revenue from overseas as the music/Kpop industry.
I think that a korean citizen should be able to choose when they give their service, between 21 to 30. Some people are doing nothing at 21, some people are doing nothing at 30. I worked at a chaebol and if I were korean (I am canadian) I would have preferred to serve as soon as possible. A kpop singer or an athlete may end their career by 30 and they may want to hold off.
So funny how neither BH/Hybe nor BTS had anything to do with the whole postponement discussion, it's just other kpop companies who pushed for it hoping to be able to ride their coattails using BTS as the scapegoat and now that they got what they wanted they're still mad lmfao
Back in 2018, 26 agencies had a meeting with Korean management federation including SM, JYP and YG to discuss regarding their boygroups enlistment. And what’s more interesting is BIGHT didn’t even attend that meeting. What’s happening right now is a karma to all those companies using BTS name to push revise the military law, because now they did Change the law and its only beneficial for BTS so they are complaining. Even more funny is BIG3 saying it’s too impossible to achieve cultural merit award when BTS won in their five years without any industry privileges, and they all want the standard to simplified eventhough they don’t lack in anything? is beyond me. I’m just here enjoying the Show sipping my tea because BTS/HYBE being unbothered playing footsie with Western Investors while these companies filing for petitions lol
It's so funny, how neither BTS nor Big Hit said anything about military postpone or exemption, Jin always says that he is ready to serve when his country will call, it's always those politicians, media or other companies who always talk about their military service and BTS is one who always gets backlash from the public or other fandoms, Armys gonna support what BTS decides
I agree that OnlyOneOf's choreo is not “too much”, I mean, we have seen female idols touching each other's boobs and butts, it's the same but with male idols, if people is gonna judge they should do it equally.
i don't think the choreo is too much but rather i don't like that fact that their company openly exploits them for publicity. so, if by chance they are uncomfy w/ the dance move and being forced to do so, then I would be upset and find it a problem.
@@nnaiixx4360 I definitely agree with you, but I don’t think that’s the case with OnlyOneOf. They recently posted a behind the scenes video of their mv and they seemed pretty happy and excited with the concept. I believe they also choreograph pretty much all of their dances themselves and they appear to have a fair amount of creative freedom from what I’ve seen :)
@@nnaiixx4360 I've seen the behinds including the behind stage for mcountdown, to see any uncomfiness and what i can say is they are pretty close friends, they enjoyed the shoot for mv, very proud of their concept. And on the behind the scenes of mcountdown they are having fun joking with eachother and working out, getting their bodies on best shape before the stage. And the member who literally is a part of the "controversial" part of the choreo himself stood up for it. The least I can say is these are pretty professional open minded boys and i would like to stan😊
We vote through whosfan app after mnet premieres the performances on youtube, at least I think that's what we'd do since it we did it for the intro stage.
@@minhohisbundles8911 em yes ofcoz, but I was referring to how mnet doesn't provide international fans the live stream of the show when most of their viewers are international fans.
@@minhohisbundles8911 thats not what op is trying to say. they dont provide us an official streaming in youtube like they did with ep 0. we have to literally search for ilegal streams (which mnet take down if they find it) to watch kingdom and they really want us to vote???? what do they expect us to vote if (legaly) we dont have any platfroms to watch it
@@parkmikka5665 yup exactly, thankyou for explaining :) Im an atiny and our fanbase streams get taken down as soon as someone posts them on their tl instead of sharing it through the DMs. Mnet really is trying their best to stop us from watching this show live lmao
Min Yoongi, a.k.a. Suga a.k.a. Agust D, once said, “Woo woo, we'll be sure to go to the military when it's time, so All the bastards who tried to sell our name to freeload off us, shut up”
News from Sep 2018 “Last month, the government said they will listen to what ent. companies have to say about enlistment, so companies like SM,YG,JYP,FNC, and Jellyfish ent had a meeting with Korea Management Federation to discuss about artists' alternative service in the army. Bighit didn't even attend the meeting. However, the media used BTS so that BTS will take the bullet for the criticism about artists trying to avoid enlistment, when BTS had nothing to do about it.” They didn’t even go, they don’t care, they said uncountable time in the public, they WILL and WANT to enlist.
I mean what do other companies think they are doing? They voted in favor and decided to set the standards first and now BTS achieved it so now they want to lower the standards. Is army or BTS fools? Like come on go meet those standards yourself and if it’s impossible then just give up and wait for BTS to retire. Edit: Let me be clear here if I am not wrong, I am objecting these 26 companies way. They said “The current criteria is impossible to achieve” but BTS did it they proved it is possible. BTS never interfered in this conversation but companies used their name to ask for delay/exception saying BTS did this and that. Now when government said not directly but indirectly “okay achieve what BTS did and get delay”. I know it’s not easy to do what BTS did but then is it fair to other Koreans if every kpop start getting military delayed? They will have to prove and give a convincing reason for themselves to get military exception/delay like BTS did. BTS has set a really high standards that’s why they are being called “exceptions”. Work hard like BTS so no one can object against you. Korean government is not thinking about how to convince fans around the world. They have to convince Koreans who go for military and they need a good reason which is convincing.
Say it louder my friend. They should pay attention about this thing before going to drag BTS about their millitary enlishment. Like bruh ! they said it multiple times that they are ready to serve whenever their country need.
@@aarushikakkar5662 they didn't set any standards, they asked for the standards to be reduced saying kpop groups careers would take a hit and an example of such groups was BTS and also BTS didn't achieve those standards, they were an exception. Please do your research before saying anything
It’s not fair to say it’s a publicity stunt. They even said on the behind the scenes of the mv that they were playing lovers. They also had several queer film references in the mv. the story for this album is actually quite beautiful. If you read about the meaning of it it truly reads like a beautiful lgbt album. From sexual desire, to realizing you are falling in love with the same sex, to realizing not everything will be rainbows because half the world is against you, to feeling like you need to beg god for help because you start feeling like you want to be “normal” even though it’s the homophobic society and family making you feel like that, to accepting yourself....seriously the album is beautiful. I fully think the only reason the word girl is in the song and one more on the album is so they would not get banned on the shows for being “too gay”. This was bold and beautiful and showed representation in a way that was so poetic to watch
@@DoyoungismyfaveToo time consuming to stan more than one group for me 😩 and should come naturally! But I really will try to support them, and I know since I've been watching and hearing good things about them for a while, also their music! ☺️❤️
When dkdktv explained the choreo I literally died. He really said, "I don't think I've seen a crotch grab in kpop before, well not by somebody else" 😂😂
26 agencies out of 27 All the other agencies except BH kept pushing for that law to postpone enlistment of their artists using BTS as a shield, but now that the law is there, they're filling a complaint because no artists aside from BTS reached the high standard . LOL
They want order of cultural merit to be AAA? We have a similar award in India as well and it's extremely prestigious. If the rules were relaxed and everyone got it, that would defeat it's propose and diminish the value. If you want a fruit from a tree, you need to climb it or get a ladder or something. The branch won't lower itself so that more people can get it...
The reason why kingdom is so low is because they don’t stream it for international fans. We only see the stuff on UA-cam so that’s what we are watching
It's low on Korean TV The reason it's low on Korean TV is because korean public don't really care about male groups Male groups are mainly focused on their fanbases and don't really get attention outside the male idols fans Female groups are way more popular in Korea, because their music is more accessible to the public
Wait the 0.3% is based upon korean ratings on tv or any other korean platform. Even if they do live streaming for international fans on their yt. The ratings will still not change.
i agree that kpop industry deserve to get the possibility of military delay with lower requirements, but changing rules for the order of cultural merit is not the way to do it. don't throw a national award for the outstanding cultural influence under this bus
And another important factor is that the Cultural Merit of Order is not given to idols..... It's given to people who help the Korean influence and it's culture grow around the world, and to people who help their economy grow.... BTS did all of that and received the prestigious award....it's prestigious cause not everyone can receive it and lowering it's standards is very wrong......
I totally agree with you. It's understandable in case of military service but trying to change a rule for a national award is just so .... I don't even know how to explain . It's just stupid. It's a NATIONAL award of high quality not something mediocre . The companies are clowning themselves .
I under that the cultural merit has high standards to meet. I also do not think lowering the standards would help. How far do you lower them? BTS is the only Korean artist that has sold out stadium tours around the world, even in a place that doesn't except different artist to play. That is is the middle east. BTS has grown the tourism and Korean application to the masses around the world. I will be honest as a 46 yr old before BTS the most I knew about Korea was the Korean War. Now I have seen so much beauty, culture, and traditions. I want to visit for a few months just to take it all in and appreciate. I know other artists have brought in some but honestly the draw isn't as large as BTS. They are the rule and everyone else should rise to meet them.
Mnet really gave Ateez first a room that was as small as a wardrobe and then mnet gave them an EMPTY room with only 7 chairs while all other groups got large rooms with sofas, tables and even snacks. And with that, Ateez together with Sf9 got a maximum of 2 minutes of screen time. The filming for kingdom lasted for 30 hours and the fact that they had to sit in an empty room on hard chairs for so long is completely fucked up
Don't worry they traite them exactely like they traited BTS befor and look what happened so i'm sûre that ateez are the nexte bts they will have thier own standars juste like BTS..... I'm an army and there was any groupe who get my attention except ateez they were and are perfecte fithing
@@linasidji8311 well i know you meant it in a good way but i would like to point out ateez aren't the next anyone they are Ateez who have their own style yes bts are great but ateez are great in their own way and they will reach their own success someday I'm pretty sure
Though to be fair, they are performing in the next episode instead - most of the episode focussed on the preparation for the stages so it seems justified. I guess we have to see next week, if the groups that have already performed still get a lot of screen time then I will agree with you. Though I did notice about ateez waiting room as well, I think because they on,y have a limited number of rooms and they are the youngest group, but I agree the difference is night and day
@@Mina-zw5xh em they filmed this in their huge-ass building with plenty of rooms I'm sure and even if they did have limited rooms it doesn't make sense to only give them rolling chairs, no tables or snacks/drinks while all the other grps had them. Plus if you carefully looked atz was actually given basically a storage room (there were even standing hangers) at the start when they entered & viewed their performance cue sheet. It was extremely small as compared to when they were moved to film their reaction to other grps performances. I'm assuming that atz spend a lot of their time in that storage room and since it was hard to film there the staff gave them a bigger room with rolling chairs. Whatever it was we all know how f-ed up mnet is and I hope the least they can do is to provide them with a proper resting area.
The way BTS and bighit are literally not doing or saying anything and the entire k-pop industry is running around about this lmao 💀💀💀 that itself says a lot
OnlyOneOf members actually made the choreography and two of the members, Kyubin and Nine produce the music. To say they really have a lot of creative freedom in creating their performances. The whole point of libidO is to show that every human has instincts and experiences libido no matter sexuality, gender, ect.... Society says that it's a 'not acceptable' thing so they suppress it, affecting their mentality. Like in the line "don't suppress it, accept it". Through the choreo they use ropes or strings to show that restriction. Then the music becomes aggressive and chaotic in the chorus to express the extreme libido that they let loose.(Just read the description under the libidO mv lol) So for people to be ignorant and just look at the choreography that is "too much" is ridiculous. When I have seen even more explicit content done by girls and/or male and females in kpop. They clearly know nothing about the OOO and don't even try reading the meaning. Since debut they have had lots of skinship in their choreography so it is no surprise to lyOns.🦁💕 If you watch the behind of the mv they really had fun filming and took their roles seriously. ^^(they are 21+ btw so it's nothing to be concerned about) As they said in their debut song savanna, "I don't give a shit what they think about us". This is what they mean. OnlyOneOf really does not care about your negativity because they were able to express what they wanted freely. They stood true to the concept all the way and will only push it more in your face :). This is now a sign for you to stan them because they make art and are the hidden gems in the kpop industry. They make their music like no one else because in the end they are Only👏One👏Of👏
This whole concept of theres is disgusting immoral. I would NEVER listen to there music. I hope they don't influence the kpop industry because of they do it will RUIN it for me and a lot of people. Part of why I like kpop ( or some groups) is because they don't inoppriate things like this. It makes me sad.😣
Yes i understand the behind story of the song but there is sooo much sexy concept (and some of them are overly sexy as well) by men idols but they dont go around grabbing each other's crotch 😅 if the koreans says its too much, then its too much for their culture, respect! I wish the best of luck with OOF, they're brave and amazing, and i love them!
@@Smile56329 lmao i’m sure your kpop groups aint innocent 🌚 kpop won’t always be cute innocent concepts, their have been bigger groups doing these erotic things to you know and way more! just don’t listen and that’s all- damn getting all pressed over some skin/men
They feel unfair what BTS received from Government...but dont u think its unfair for BTS that they using them for their benefit? Its not like BTS is exempt from military its just a postponed..and its not easy for them to get the recognition..they work with 'blood, sweat and tears'.
Well the petition that was started by armys to keep their boys from serving should’ve never been started. Let Jin go in the military now. You want to shut them up you say yes our boys will serve then put your money we’re your mouth is. Enlist now. It’s not like your going to lose your # 1 status. My 2 bias group members have gone in and were in at the age of 28 (the old law) except for Hyuk and Jun. I’m sure Hyuk being born in 95 will enlist in 2022 and Jun born in 97 will enlist the year before Jungkook. Point is that this should’ve never been brought up Jin should be serving now. All those required to serve born in 92’ should be serving
@@KissMeStarlight I get your point but not really. To keep it short- they did outstanding things and the government had a good reason to do that (to delay their enlistment) + they got the cultural merit award being incredibly young. BTS is making like 8/10 of the whole money the Kpop Industry is making so it wouldn't be too smart for the financial part of all of this (and the government makes lots of money from it too) to send any BTS Member as of 2018 and nowadays when they could've send them at the standard age of enlistment, as you said: they actually should have because your faves were/ are too. Jin literally wouldn't have been performing at the GRAMMYS if that was the case. I'm going after what BTS said, they'll go when the government calls them but they haven't been called for it yet. Anyways~
@@KissMeStarlight its not because they dont want to loose no 1 status...its because the government not call them yet..they already mention they are ready to go if got call...🤷♀️
OnlyOneOf's choreo really should not be a big deal. Because sexuality is indeed part of human growth. Their purpose is to extend the message that sexual awareness and sexual awakening is something natural and should not be viewed as something taboo... Their bravery is the best 💜💜💜
*this.* this comment should literally be at the top. you don't know how much time i took scrolling down the comment section just to find this comment, ugh it feels so good to finally find it lol. i agree 100%, the only thing i'll add is that +the first step to talk about and represent LGBTQ+ people in the kpop industry was yet to be done in a way that's in the artistic and non fanservice, forced to do it way, and OnlyOneOf were like: _"we'll be the people that step up first so that other kpop groups/idols who are in the closet/ally have the door right open so it'll be much easier for them. we'll be theOnes (get it) who will volunteer to do it and take all the hate that's to come, for the sake of the LGBTQ+ youth and to tell people and especially korean people that they should embrace their sexuality and libido instead of hiding it like they were taught to, that it's shameful. to tell them that it's natural and nothing to be shamed about."_ and if you think i'm exaggerating then listen to the whole album. not only is it artistic and is genuinely full of bops, the message and meaning of the whole album is beautiful.
@@bingbong6323 I have been following since their debut and for every song they've released, they've been easing us up to the awareness regarding the "korean taboos", also it followed the same theme, slowly and gradually exposing us to the message they wanted to tell people regarding sexuality norms and gender biases... That's why I don't get why people are shocked especially the K-netizens... Their songs were in their language so they should have already guessed where OnlyOneOf was heading to theme-wise... "libidO" didn't happen as a one-time thing. The concept and theme was planned by both the management and the members since debut... The members were fully prepared for this comeback and the concept... They even built their bodies to fit the theme... This is why I feel so disappointed at how the K-fans reacted 🤧🤧 the boy's did god's work... They wanted to be eye-openers and prepared to be the "villains" just so they can make way for the message of true equality. They deserve the best. They deserve to be recognized, heard and appreciated...
@@irokimaori6426 EXACTLY. i literally don't have anything else to add. i agree w everything you said. i'm facepalming myself for thinking most knetizens aren't that homophobic and conservative now in 2021, oh how stupid of me to hope that. i have a feeling OOO will blow up one day, just like how bts did coming from a small agency (but ofc, they're popularity wouldn't be as popular as bts's) and i hope my feeling ends up becoming reality because these boys are gems. they're all talented and deserve way more than they have right now, they're all all rounders.
Honestly, the whole BTS Law issue is a product of the entertainment companies own making. They threw BTS out on the table as, "this is why we need an exemption." So law makers go, okay then BTS's achievements are now the standard to receive an exemption. Now the entertainment companies, are like "well shit" and deem it as unrealistic expectations. Crap, that didn't work out like we wanted to, so lets now try it from the angle of private entrepreneurs getting exemptions (which is honestly a much more reasonable stance from the beginning), but they already created their own issue. They thought they could push it through via BTS, and it back fired big time. I have no pity for them. I do feel for some of the kpop artists themselves though. I feel like there is room for an argument to be made from the entrepreneurs point of view. Artists spend years building up fans and a solid following, and then once they enlist it can all collapse. Much like a private entrepreneur's company could suffer if they had to leave it before it was stable enough to function without them. Now will the few extra years they get actually be that beneficial? I have no clue. But I do feel like that's a better argument on their behalf. But no, the companies had to use BTS instead, and basically screwed over their own artists. At least that's what I'm getting from all this...
I think it's more like they used BTS thinking that the criteria to get that award would be reduced but instead BTS just got an exemption and nothing was done to the law which is why they are bringing it up again.
I think they are very clever, if BTS get an exemption the public opinion will crash on them, if they don't the big compagnies will have time to créat an other groupe to replace BTS ..... In an other word they will win ..... Sorry for my bad english
like they could have used other boy groups that have had achievements as example like exo, seventeen, most x, Got7, big bang , shinnee, super Junior etc..., like your boy group have also achieved great thing too. So why Cann't you use them as examples and what's makes me angry with this situation
@@linasidji8311 Bts said they are going to enlist and they want to enlist so most likely if they are going get an exemption so most likely they going to ask to enlist, because that's what they want, so it's no one is winning because have said they are going to enlist.
@@Haifa386 well let's be honest here. With no hate or disrespect towards the other artists....their achievements are still not as huge as BTS. BTS is a global phenomenon and are literally one of the biggest act in the world rn. Their achievements are comparatively more huge and so they used it BTS's example to make a more solid point. Those companies used their achievements and success to push forward their own benifit. They basically used BTS n threw them under them afterwards. Also they thought they were being subtle keeping this meeting around the time BTS got the Cultural Merit. No ....we all have eyes and can see right through their actions. I'm just happy that at the end of the day Bangtan karma hit them mfs right at the faces lol.
i don't stan OnlyOneOf but honest to god, as long as they themselves feel comfortable with it, then let them. as stated the song is about human instincts and touches well on sexual desires. it's not like anyone is forcing you to watch their show and honestly it's not like he freaking did anything to his crotch area other than brush against it. why is this even discussed omg (edit: I now see why this is being discussed as everyone has a right to their opinion.) also what about PNation then? psy literally stands for letting the artist express themselves and if things like that are allowed at end of the year performances then that shouldn't be too much of an issue... also has anyone seen ab6ix' woong in 'moondance'? i'm just saying, it's not like sexual things haven't been done before
@@zaczeen1121 tbh i don’t really like playing ‘what if’s bc it didn’t happen anyway but honestly what they do in whichever form of artistically expressing themselves is their choice. if i don’t like it then i won’t expose myself to it... there are a lot of people comfortable in their sexuality and bodies that celebrate seeing things like that and who would i be to take that away from them... that being said i only hope the members themselves are comfortable with it. i don’t want anyone to ever be forced to do anything they don’t want to do and that’s also where i clearly draw the line. forcing artists to do smth is what i would not accept in any way
@@zaczeen1121 yes, of course you can freely express yourself... however i believe that hate speech or going against someone’s else’s free will is not the way to go... if i don’t like something then that’s my opinion but as long as it’s not something clearly wrong (f.ex. going against human rights) then i don’t think anyone should tell other beings what they can and can’t do
iKON deserve the world and MNET are 🐍s. MNET obviously need these groups, iKON included, for the views. The least they can do is film the dance correctly after hours of rehearsals.
They show hours of their (YG team )practice, but in the end just show many mistake in their own team (mnet team) presentation... it's looks like mnet team not practice with YG team at all... I can think this way because of the lot different with ikon introduction stage (because in that stage I can feel "yeah, this is YG...perfectly balance performance"...) for me, the team for RTK is a load better...
Why are they so concerned about BTS. They got postpone of their enlistment not cancel. How much more one can achieve with extra 2 years. If they had brought in the entrepreneur angle it would have made more sense but everyone wanted to ride on BTS and it backfired.
Honestly there are a lot of sexual choreos from popular artists already and people never complain about the rest of them. There’s Monster by Seulgi and Irene which has pretty suggestive dance moves between them. And Taemin’s choreo tends to be quite sensual as well, Criminal had the choreo with the tie. BTS had Blood Sweat and Tears which got really suggestive, but also made their career skyrocket. I think OnlyOneOf is just getting criticism because of homophobia.
All of the choreo is just using gayness to appear sexy, it isn't good. None of it is good. If they want to represent the gay community, there are better ways. Taemin doesn't try to act gay for views or attention, unlike seulgi and irene and BTS.
If you've been following OnlyoneOf for a while you'd know that their choreo is a bit sensual and touchy. They've even said so themselves. These people who are saying its to get attention are stupid and know nothing about this group...
@@derive8251 yeah, it's truly not bad at all but you gotta remember Knetz are comfortable with this kind of thing. But I see where you're coming from with Mamamoo.. I didn't see a lot of issue with Irene and Seulgi's Monster MV.. I guess it was a bit different but still.
Mini Mochi of course you’re ok with this SAN 😏I can’t even look you in the Eyes anymore all I see is body rolls in a white suit 😳😅 Sorry Sorry I forgot what the theme was!!! I can’t focus anymore What have you done to me ????? Bye I need to check Onlyoneof for research purposes!!!😁
They are using gayness to appear sexy. That is problematic. It was obviously a stunt, no kpop group or company that wants positive attention in korea would do that without being careful or mindful of how to properly represent a whole community
@@Molly-iw1rc I guess that can be true too.. seeing as their manager is a little... yeah. But then again like I mentioned in a comment above no one really said anything about Irene & Seulgi's mv.. I know their dance wasn't provocative but the mv had a few "suggestive" scenes ya know? Why was it okay for them? I'm just using theirs as an example. Since it's recent
i agree. It’s a very unconventional melody that goes in unexpected directions. A lot of kpop I’ve heard seems very predictable and easy to follow in terms of melody, but libidO was really different. Because the notes are so odd it was hard to sing along and even now I have trouble after almost a week of it being out. Super unique and mysterious sound!
Let’s face the FACT that bts is ready to enlist anytime BUT the government is the one who is NOT ready to enlist them. Specially in this pandemic that limits the income of money to any country but SK doesn’t really need to worry that much because of bts and armys who buy something from SK.
I doubt it because if that were true the government would simply exempt them like others have been exempted in the past. There is far more political drama at play behind the scenes.
@@tharurt7245 Yeah true, I'm sure military exemptions can also create political issues that make it seem complicated to grant BTS one. Plus, creating an entirely new policy regarding exemptions especially since I believe that the government are trying their best to limit military exemptions and not be too loose about it, will only create another bunch of criticisms to them.
I'm with Danny on this. If the whole discussion was about pop artists getting the same treatment as classical musicians & athletes, then they should revise the standards.
Kpop companies: using BTS to get kpop idols the chance to delay military service ( military delay is accepted if the idols can do what bts did ) Kpop companies: wait, that's impossible!
"look at bts! surely there should be some sort of exemption for kpop idols..." "ok, come back when you've done as much as them." "wait, not like that-"
I don't know only one of but I love the way they stay true to their sensuality and their message. it really shows that there is a deeper meaning and not only a 'se* sells' concept
They didn't portray anything beautiful. They may have had good intentions but obviously people see it as them over-sexualizing themselves and the queer community.
@@Smile56329 their not gonna change their concept, they don’t have a care about what other have to say, in korea this isn’t seen much and want to break barriers and know that this isn’t nothing wrong to do, their getting immense hate in korea, but many are understanding, all the hate are usually from the homophobics, and they don’t want to influence at all, they just want to normalize it
Those 26 companies used BTS to get a free ride off of their success. Neither BTS nor Bighit talked about getting extension but their names were still used and they were ones who had to take all the slander back then. Now when the government did make a law on it but only BTS meets the bars to get that extension suddenly it's unfair and everyone's mad ? It's "impossible to achieve" yet BTS did it. BTS, a group started with literally nothing, achieved all this and set the standard so high no one can even touch it. Why cry about it now? Instead of thinking how their groups can get to that level of success everyone's saying it's unfair n impossible. BTS did the impossible and earned this extension. And so should every other group. I'm really piss with Mnet because of the way they treat Ateez for the first round. It was sad to see other groups with sofas and better amenities while Ateez was on an empty room with simple chairs. As an Atiny, I want the best for my boys but if this is the way how things are going to be, then I'm going to prove them how much Ateez is worth it with views and votes. FIGHTING ATINY!!!
as an army I almost cried. I like their music. they seem really talented and it's hard to see anyone be mistreated like that. reminded me of when bts would get their performances cut from shows. mnet has always been a fucking snake. no one deserves to be treated like that. wishing the best for them 🥰

As an 6years ARMY. I got to say, I'm actually quite enjoying the fact that people say" BTS level" is unachievable, it's too much and etc. looking back everyone was shaming us for being BTS fan, saying they're from small company, underdogs and can't achieve anything. Now they are hating us(as always) saying that it's too easy for us to achieve awards, because of the fandom size, we should stop streaming and give others chance? LIKE THE AUDACITY THO. BTS did not grow in a night and their journey was far from a walk in a park. if you want to be exception, do better. STOP blaming BTS
Okay who is blaming bts, l . Their level of fame is achievable there is always someone like that every few years, they were underdogs, and they did make it but I don’t see people hating on bts besides exols saying their groups vocals is way better.
If they need to lower down the standard of this important award and Recognition just to because they want their idol to have a chance to delay their service.... can ppl request to lower down the criteria or standard for Nobel prize ??
Agree! To Lower the standards of one of the highest/important awards in korea just for some idols to get it, don't they think it's an insult to the government and the people who got this award?and bts didn't just got that award THAT EASY! MY GHHHAAAAD! IF they want a lower standard then LET BTS GET THE EXEMPTION from the military service..
But the standard of the award is not lowered?? Because you still have to be at an exceptional level to receive the award in the first place. If they lower it to 8 years or something, it's not that any group that has completed 8 years gets the award, it's that groups that are deserving of the award can get it in a time that actually makes a difference. If a group doesn't deserve it then they won't give it to them🤷 and so the vast majority will enlist as normal
Exactly! Those big companies used them as shield but then the table had turned and now they can't stand the fact that the boy group they used to looked down before from small company mopped those big ass companies today.. "Bts is the standard" "Bts is the blueprint" suck it up!

The only privilege BTS ever had was to have such amazing members, the privilege of a having a perfect team! other then that they have faced countless hardships just to survivor in the industry, they’ve come so far all based on their own efforts, if anything these other labels did is become a hindrance in there way
This is not even the end of the Kingdom unfairness. If you compare the artist rooms, ATEEZ got shoved in a closet with basic chairs when the other groups got large rooms with sofas and were even provided with snacks and drinks. They don't even let the idols interact when a lot of them are friends with each other. It's hard to enjoy the show when it's clear that they have an agenda.
Athletes for example also have to reach a certain point where they can apply for postponement.. in their case is a bit easier to measure their success (olympic gold etc..). In the case of idols it's hard to draw the line. How many MAMA awards? that doesn't really make sense. How many people go to their concert? Nah. How many albums, songs they produce? How many times they topped the charts? How can you measure the succes? In BTS's case however you could say that they were nominated for a Grammy. They performed at the Grammy's. They spoke at the UN. They attract so many tourists and promote South Korea like no other. Just recently they were chosen as the best brand in the entertainment category that best represent Korea (for context, brands like Samsung or Hyundai are also selected). No other kpop group has these titles. So yeah, I think they deserve it. Do I think that the standards should be lower, to be able to be reached by other idols? Maybe. I'm not Korean so I don't really have a say in this, but the way I see it, this shouldn't be that big of a deal, since this is just postponement, not exemption.
I agree with you for the most part. I honestly believe there should be a bar in place to know where the standard is met. I’m thinking at a minimum 10 years of activity, maintaining a good image to the public, and have some lasting effect from their time as a group/solo.
I do think that if athletes, classical musicians and dancers can receive a delay, there should be a possibility for idols to do so as well. Kpop is only getting bigger and bigger and some might have worked hard for years for them to finally make a big break, but then have to enlist at the top of their careers. I do think that a good image and high activity level as well as a highly growing fanbase should matter. Many debut at 16-18 and if they work for eight(?) years would be a good standard. If they've met their peak and are slowly becoming less relevant, they shouldn't get an postponement. I would think that an exemption or postponement should be awarded to people who need it to reach their potential, not people who have already succeeded and are past their peak. Especially groups from small labels have a hard time. Add the fact that women don't have to serve and can keep going with their careers without even giving it a single thought, it makes it even more unfair. BUT, obviously as I'm not Korean I don't have a say, that's just my view.

Do you think they actually called BTS's name knowing all this would happen and they would get dragged?? I agree that in 2018, they used BTS to push the law and that was because BTS is big but right now, that's not what they're trying to do. They just want the standards of meeting the criteria of getting that award to be reduced and also don't forget that BTS didn't meet the criteria, it was an exception which shows how unrealistic these expectations are. The whole exemption thing I understand why they would challenge it. Kpop idols already sacrifice their whole childhood and young adult years and to think that you would have to be 13 years old debuting in order to even have the required years that BTS was excused from meeting. I agree with Danny that the pressure put on musicians and particularly idols is undue according to what they produce. Also as a older kpop fan who has been in it for 10+ years I remember when the public thought that being exempted from service was bad and that every idol, no matter their incredible success should be exempt unless it was for medical reasons. So I find it really interesting how the thoughts have changed. The fact that people had accused big bang members of trying to not go to the military and other male idols yet they all served and served well is really interesting change in sentiment.
Not gonna lie, I also felt like the camera work in the rehearsal ver for ATEEZ kingdom performance was waaaay better than the one on the show as well as iKONs rehearsal being better camera angles and stuff wise. But like I’m sure they get more rehearsals with the camera person of the rehearsal since they’re probably a camera person from their company and knows the choreo way better but still. I feel like they could have tried better for the idols and gave them more rehearsals with the camera and also had the camera people familiarize themselves more with the choreography
I don't think Only One Of's performance was too much. Kpop performances have seen skirts that were too short, open shirts, etc. Sensual dances aren't new.

I feel kind of sorry for the rest of male idols, on top of all others difficulties they already face most of them take a hit to their careers due to the hiatus caused by their enlistment. Exceptions exist, but most of the time are idols from big companies, wich is (i would say) an important factor for them to chose said companies despite their well know and cuestionable working conditions/ethics. And the fear of this forced hiatus is surely one the reasons to debut very young idols, despite them being the least prepared to bear this kind of life. Honestly is sad to think that such problems could be eased but won't be and people is just either pissed or laughing at these companies. Doesn't anyone realize that this isn't much of a problem for the labels? they just will pick, and potentially ruin, some other young boys, at the same time reinforcing the idea that idols are disposable. And using BTs achievements to justify this is dumb, they are a cultural phenomenon and therefore not an apropiate standad.
BTS has been SO cruicial to the South Korean economy, especially within the last year due to the situation caused by the pandemic that i dont think they want to lose that by sending BTS into military while the situation had not improved yet. Some people may see this as rude, me saying stuff like that, but i think its just another bar of seeing how influential BTS truly is. They DO wanna go in the end and this "delay" still doesnt give JIN more than a year time to focus on his career. Im much more interested to see wether its possible and if they will atleast try to enlist all 7 members at the same time. That would minimaze all "bad" aspects and also improve the end result of their service time.❤💜🙏
I think it's time for K-pop companies to realise that BTS is on another level not only in K-pop but they're literally the biggest band GLOBALLY, that's why they get the exception. They used BTS to show that K-pop artist deserve to be excepted but no other group meets the standard and now they complain? Maybe think getting the exception in the next 10 years when BTS retires and there's other group that is as relevant as them, otherwise? don't expect too much.
i just wish people would stop talking about bts' enlistment. it's not an exemption, it's just a delay omg they have to go anyways. And of course the barriers should be high or else everyone will start saying "why doesn't my oppa get a delay he deserves it". the big companies use bts to get the law hoping they can also get delays on their enlistment but then knowing they will never be able to get a delay according to the standards, they suddenly say it's unfair to other idols. All those entertainment companies that used BTS’s name for their own agenda just got a taste of how much higher BTS is than their idol groups and now they’re salty lol A cultural merit isn’t something that should be easily achieved, no?
I'm new to BTS ARMY and I served in the military for five years when I was 18. I volunteered to serve and I would do it again. I was moved to tears seeing them boys and big hit entertainment struggle in the beginning. I know they climbed obstacles together and shared tears while embracing each other. I'm sure the at that time the other entertainment co. didn't make it easy for BTS and bighit. I'm sure some staff may have gotten an IOU instead of a pay check just so the company could stay afloat in the beginning. BTS/bighit worked very hard to get where they are at. From my understanding, The Cultural Merit is a once in a lifetime award and it is a huge honor and to lower the standards for this award would be a disgrace. BTS worked very hard to receive this award regardless of the exception of the 15 year limitations. They brought world wide recognition to South Korea and k-pop which boosted the S. Korean economy even during a pandemic! *Wow* The bar has been set. Instead of lowering the bar, meet the standards or move on. BTS is an extremely rare group and bighit/HYBE is even rarer because any company that gives shares to their most influential boy group is just amazing to me. This pairing is like hydrogen and two oxygen, it forms water and there is no life without water.
Ok don't attack me, but I kinda feel like a lot of armys are too sensitive on the matter of military delay. The statement doesn't seem to attack bts or make it seem like they don't deserve it. (I have seen a lot of people on the internet claim this) It was a general statement that compares what the standard for delay is like in other industries and what it's like in kpop. Correct me if I am wrong, but this has been a discussion for quite some time. Considering what the lifespan of an idol's career is like and that male idols after military rarely do as well as before, it's only natural that companies would want their idols to have a delayment as well and in my opinion it also makes sense that if an idol reaches a certain level of popularity that they should get delayed. Right now the standards are literally impossible for any other group to achieve. There will probably never be another group that reaches the standard. So yes it is unfair to base an entire law on only a few people. Back to my point of armys (btw I am talking about international armys here) being to sensitive about this issue, it seems that a lot didn't even understand what the statement was trying to say before they started to bash every company (or even group) involved. And I have seen a lot of international armys gatekeep korean military delay, which seems really weird to me.
I didn't know that BTS received the Cultural Merit as an exception, but I love how Danny said it "BTS are the exception". Anyway I was too distracted by the scroll and Kim Jung Hyun to really pay attention to everything you said, but I do have to agree that 15 years in order to be eligible is an impossible endeavor. If a law was to be passed for a delay then it should have been made attainable, but also hold to the high standards as all the other professions that get the exemption. I also agree with David that there is room for corruption in a law that lowers the standard. But it's a tough call for the Government, it was why they didn't want to give BTS the delay to begin with, they knew that it would lead to this. You can't please everybody.
Yeah but i highly doubt that the govt did not themselves want to give the postponement to BTS. Just look at the revenue and prestige they bring in. And see how fast they processed the bill. They definitely also would want the momentum to continue for as long as possible.
I think I support 15 years. These companies use artists at their prime and discard them. Let them work with artists for 20-30 years not only teenagers. My POV BTS deserves the award. If there's a company that thinks its artists deserve the delay, let them come with facts, calculator for revenue generated, awards, evidence of cultural and social influence and most of all not point at BTS when explaining why they too should be given the award/Delay.

It's actually pretty easy to solve that military enlistment issue for idols. Make it mandatory for when the person turn 18, they'll spend about 2 years there and then get out on their 20s. The standard is impossible to meet because they don't want idols to delay their military service. That's it. Also, being famous and spreading your country's culture are two very different things. BTS is actually a big part of the K-culture exposure. Lots of people are learning korean, using k-products etc. because of BTS. That's why they got that medal in the first place. Tokio Hotel was a really famous german group at one point, but nobody cared about german culture because of their fame... That's why BTS is different.
Thank you so much for covering OnlyOneOf's performance! I wasn't familiar with them, so I decided to check them out, and now I'm in love! Such talent, and they seem like a great group of guys. Thanks again
As a multistan, it’s difficult to see the heavy criticism towards Jin’s military enlistment whilst other favourites such as Shownu, Baekhyun, Chanyeol et al are all older than he is and have either not yet joined the army or just left. I wouldn’t mind so much if the criticism was equally distributed
Exo has 2 members already discharged from military,2 members are halfway to finish their military duty,Chanyeol is already in military and baekhyun will join on may 6 . 2more members to go and exo is done with military so stop using them.
@@exokyungsoowifeu3879 I’m also an Exo-L and am well-informed of each member’s current military status, but thank you for stepping forward and offering yourself as a shining example of the complete hypocrisy amongst some kpop fans. The fact that every idol I mentioned in my original post is equally guilty of delaying their active military duty, yet you are conveniently trying to omit your ult group, exemplifies that the whole argument is driven by biasness and illogic.
To my knowledge there are few k actors who enlist late too, that's why i thought it was normal for men there to postpone to the very limit. Now when they talked about Jin this Jin that Bts this and that.. it felt so unfair. They had made themselves clear since 2018/2019 about what would they do about this enlistments yet people still trying to find a way to drag them down They're dragging Bts and keeping a blind eye on others who also keep delaying their enlistment or had delayed their enlistment That is disgusting!
@@exokyungsoowifeu3879 being a fan doesn’t mean turning a blind eye to hypocrisy or overlooking a person/company’s imperfect actions. What will help me sleep tonight is knowing that all you’ve done in response, is question my integrity as a fan and haven’t added a valid counterargument, because you don’t have one.
yep. psy had unlocked the door to the west and bts just ran right through and worked their asses off for their success. it's sad seeing these companies say it's unfair because they seem like they don't have any faith in their own idols. like if you want the exemption have faith, give them good songs, help train their dancing ability. do more for them and you can reap the benefits like bighit and bts did. I'm not saying these idols aren't working hard because they are, but the companies complaining don't make sense
bts are always getting the short end of the stick; damned if they do, damned if the don’t. The lit had nothing to do with these discussions yet somehow they’re used as the buffer zone... pls make that make sense?
BTS has contributed greatly to Korea’s economy, they deserved the postment without a doubt. My thing is if this was a matter of kpop idols in general getting the chance to postpone, the companies should have spoke on behalf of their own idols in 2018. BTS have said countless of times that when the time comes they are ready to serve their country, there was no need for them to bring BTS & BH/Hybe up and try to use them as a political pawn. I also think it should be less years being active in a group & I understand at the same time that it’s not supposed to be easy to get postponement or everyone would want it.
I agree that K pop artist should get delays bc their career/ livelihood depends on it. BTS is like a miracle. This is a group that has succeeded so much and a band like that doesn't happen multiple times in one generation. Not every K pop artist need to be at BTS level to get exception.
yeah but this rule has been prevalent for a long time. it's an honor to serve for your country, but discrediting bts and letting them take the blame is the thing that sits wrong with me.
Honestly, if not for BTS, I would have no idea about Korean culture, language, arts, or current events. BTS brought Korea into the global limelight in a positive way. Bending a few rules for that achievement is understandable, Korea needs the BTS members as global ambassadors. Also, OnlyOneOf's new song, MV, and choreo are a complete delight. (Nothing about it is it at all shocking from over here in the land that created WAP.) More power to them, looking forward to more from these talented men.
Then why is it not the case for skeleton olympians, classical musicians or I don't know Song Heung-Min when they get exemption? Why doesn't anyone find it unfair then but they now find it unfair when BTS just gets to delay their enlistment? Why is this the case while all those parties and BTS are doing the same thing & that is bringing national pride & wealth? My question is why all of them get exemption and bts just gets to delay while BTS clearly contributes more to the country than the rest combined??
What you say about national laws should be equal for everyone is absolutely right but in the case of military exemption there was already a law allowing athletes and etc to be exempt based on their contributions to the national fame and reputation and to be fair BTS has done WAY more than enough in terms of bringing proud and recognition to SK.
As for the protest against the "BTS Law". I don't think it is a case of other artist just trying to go after low hanging fruit or to cheapen BTS's achievements. Athletes and classical artists have to achieve some pretty hard to attain and specific goals to get an exemption or a delay. I think what they want is for artists in popular culture to have delays or exemptions made available to them based on a similar level of achievements. They bent the rules for BTS because they acknowledged that BTS had already went far above and beyond any specific goal they could have set for them, but since there was no such exemption rule already in place they had to work around it. The point of the exemption laws (I thought) was to reward those who had successfully promoted Korea on the world stage and had benefited Korea as a nation. This could be by improving Korea's international standing (BTS does), increasing awareness of Korean culture (BTS does), financially benefitting Korea in some way like increased tourism revenue (BTS very much does), or even just increasing global awareness of Korea as a nation or promoting Korean goods and services. People who get exemptions in the other categories usually get them for winning some kind of major international award or competition. It cannot be that hard to come up with similar standards for popular culture categories.

Basically What happened in baby words
All k companies :idols who brings exposure to Korea deserve military exception
Bighit, bts, army:😴 😴
Korean government :sets the bts law
All k companies : Lower the standards this is impossible to achieve no idol will achieve it in their 20ies
Bh bts army:😴 😴
Agreed
These companies only want profit and nothing else. There is no pure good intention behind this agenda.
they used bts as the standard and now they are mad and surprised that bts is the standard for the law. Make it make sense.
Wasn’t it ARMY, BTS fandom, who really wanted this exemption? Why are y’all blaming the companies as if you didnt want this too?
It's so funny, how neither BTS nor Big Hit said anything about military postpone or exemption, Jin always says that he is ready to serve when his country will call, it's always those politicians, media or other companies who always talk about their military service and BTS is one who always gets backlash from the public or other fandoms, Armys gonna support what BTS decides

Bighit didn't even attend the meeting. However, the media used BTS so that BTS will take the bullet for the criticism about artists trying to avoid enlistment, when BTS had nothing to do about it.”
They didn’t even go, they don’t care, they said uncountable time in the public, they WILL and WANT to enlist.
BTS is indeed Bulletproof. But i dont like them being used like that. 😒

Yeah.. I think the "entrepreneur" point should be pushed instead of clinging onto BTS..

It was extremely small as compared to when they were moved to film their reaction to other grps performances. I'm assuming that atz spend a lot of their time in that storage room and since it was hard to film there the staff gave them a bigger room with rolling chairs. Then the music becomes aggressive and chaotic in the chorus to express the extreme libido that they let loose.(Just read the description under the libidO mv lol)
So for people to be ignorant and just look at the choreography that is "too much" is ridiculous.
^^(they are 21+ btw so it's nothing to be concerned about)
As they said in their debut song savanna, "I don't give a shit what they think about us". This is what they mean.

In conclusion, I believe that we have no choice but to stan OnlyOneOf even more. 🥺
The “crotch grab” itself really wasn’t that sexually driven. I’ve seen more suggestive crotch grabbing from other artists.
All of the choreo is just using gayness to appear sexy, it isn't good. None of it is good. If they want to represent the gay community, there are better ways. Taemin doesn't try to act gay for views or attention, unlike seulgi and irene and BTS.

@@blackroseinbloom yes, absolutely, this sounds rational
🤣
Yep sis i agree!!!!!👍👍💜💜💜
@@BomiYuuki yep they bring in about 4.5 billion dollars which puts them on the same level as Samsung, KIA, and LG.
i just wish people would stop talking about bts' enlistment. it's not an exemption, it's just a delay omg they have to go anyways. I hate these hypocrites of this korean music industry! And I may say seeing international fans debating about our laws, is totally appropriate, but when they start to complain about the laws saying it's unfair then well it kinda gets ridiculous..
Totally agree. I’m a female korean living in the US and tbh I feel like I don’t have a say with korean laws especially when one is talking bout military service that r for KOREAN MALES. I don’t think anyone can say what is fair or not unless you personally experience it. So I do get upset at kpop stans who try to have a say in korean laws about military service. Tbh I don’t even like it if they agree or disagree with the law because it goes both ways. If u agree with the laws of having bts be delayed then your ignoring the opinions of the korean males same as with disagreeing. Either way ur ignoring/shitting on the people who actually had to do mandatory military service
But it is unfair. Bts got the cultural merit award without even meeting the qualifications.
@@gummynoodles9036 well tell us the qualifications... Because there's special cases. Or just say it's impossible

@@gummynoodles9036 but they still got the culture merit award. Regardless of the years active. That's why the are considered a historic group and "exceptional " . Danny I always like your opinion but this time I totally agree with David, exception are given to someone who is special and exceptional. Not everyone gets to rides on it. Exception is there for people who are exceptional.
BTS PAVED THE WAY! THEY WORKED HARD. 💪 BTS is the exception for rules to be changed. Standards are that way for musicians, that BTS have exceeded, even for the classical musicians.
Objectively, I also think that the integrity of such awards should be kept. Like... you cant just give any humanitarian the nobel peace prize. Or any architect a pritzker award. The impact HAS to be felt and agreed upon by everyone.
But im happy to have heard your sides of the story! Hearing what korean men who have served already have to say was interesting.

All those entertainment companies that used BTS’s name for their own agenda just got a taste of how much higher BTS is than their idol groups and now they’re salty lol
A cultural merit isn’t something that should be easily achieved, no?
(I have seen a lot of people on the internet claim this)
It was a general statement that compares what the standard for delay is like in other industries and what it's like in kpop.
I think the industry doesn't even want them to get delayed or exempt, which is why they made it so high
@@graciousosamuede3527 by them do you mean bts? In the Bill that was passed they are already qualified for the postponement to enlistment. But if you meant the other kpop artists, yeah it’s pretty much high for them to be even considered
Tbh I’m not a korean so idk how it should be, but, with how much they’ve contributed to the music industry, I feel like it should be considered. Not only have they made korea millions of dollars through their music, but also helped tourism amd advertising a great deal. They’ve also made history repeatedly and continue to do so, exceeding any artist in the country and entering western musician standards.
To all these companies complaining about bts exemption, y’all look up to bts as the standard suck it up and move along..
BTS are literally the target of not just anti fans but companies and even politics..i swear bts can sit down and do nothing and some of these people will involve them in some drama or the other..i’ve also seen other fandoms used bts to get attention..
For those people say that bighit/HYBE labels and BTS participate in military issues and take advantage of their exclusion privilege. You need to learn to read Then browse news sources on this subject, so that you don't just talk without knowing the facts
26 companies literally wanted to decrease the standard for cultural merit award coz the other company's group couldn't make up to the level , no hate for other group but you have they have to strive hard so that they can get the award instead of begging to decrease the level . Used bts as scapegoat for military service delay even though Hybe didn't even join the conference .
but if the rules say it's 15 years and bts didn't do that either, wouldn't it make sense to decrease that? as long as they still just select genuinely impactful artists, it shouldn't hurt the merit in any way. it'd just be acknowledging that you can achieve it in less time, like bts did
@@fisticuffs12 then they should do something like BTS and sure, they will get the cultural merit without meeting the 15 years and the postponement.
But this rule didn't makes sense for KPOP industry unless you are BTS.this shoes how much impact BTS has did for the country.they receive the cultural merit although they are active for 6 years
@@fisticuffs12 well time shouldn't matter if the artist is truly impactful like bts. If you are truly impactful and doing noteworthy things for the country then time won't be a fact for you like bts. But if you are just a kpop idol doing bare minimum and trying to avoid military service because BTS earned it, then bars shouldn't be lowerd.
@@juie5314 yes the time being an idol if u have been impactfull should not matter - that is why there was no such rule before bangtan got the award but now after they did they changed it and according to this new rule even BTS wouldn't be eligible. 15 years is way too much and considering that male idols have to go to the military before they reach 30 it means they have debut at at least 15 years old. its not an unreasonable request to change that. And bts may be the reason this conversation has started but that is a legitamate issue that affects litearally the WHOLE kpop industry.
BTS its really the standard and its funny cause they never asked for military exemption, they never asked for military delay.. it's all up to korea's government

I think the best course of action is for BTS to just enlist even if they are given the privilege to delay military service. If they do, it will benefit them more in terms of image and credibility.
the thing is the government wants to make money, honor and publicity for south korea longer while bts is at its peak but they have said if they are called to serve they will go
They're still going to enlist. Delay does not mean exemption, so the "outrage" these companies are expressing is uncalled for.
they already swore their desire to sign up for the responsibility of military service. since 2018, all these companies have been doing this and dragging my boys into it knowing they really dont care about exemption. this current situation is ridiculous. its not my boys' fault that people can't reach the standards. thats the reason there are standards, so people dont have quickies regarding postponements.
BTS will do what they want to and when they want to do! We are no one to “decide” for them! These companies should’ve know their places and not interfere in BTS business but they are greedy and want to benefit off from BTS success which is pathetic in my opinion!
@@astraeanatsuki3231 mind you even if they go and have their service, that will never put their popularity down. they were gone for a while in 2019 and we charted their discography and continued to get wonderful content from the boys even if they were away. and god, armys are spoiled with a lot of stuff to rewatch as well that never gets old. whatever bts does, we will support them and we will be fine as long as bts is fine :]]
it is really unfair in general to think about how detrimental having to serve suddenly can be for an artist's career. here Baekhyun is, the best selling Korean soloist in 20 years, and he can't even promote his new solo album (best selling korean solo album in 20 years) before he heads off into the military on his birthday and he likely wont be able to take part in Exo's cb promotions either even though he recorded for them already. he has hypothyroidism so he won't be in active duty but this only extends his enlistment period... it's just such a shame. he was literally selling almost as much of his solo as exo has for some group albums and he's doing a lot for korean culture yet his achievements are put to the side
It's actually pretty easy to solve that military enlistment issue for idols. Make it mandatory for when the person turn 18, they'll spend about 2 years there and then get out on their 20s. This would also be good for the idols since they wouldn't get to debut so early in their lives, thus not losing a huge portion of their youth by having to practice 24/7.
Anyways stan OnlyOneOf.

wait don't they discuss the camerawork and props with the producers before the show? I thought the idols and their managements come up with these ideas and talk with the producers about them. If they wanted a certain moment to be shot a certain way they should discuss it with the cameraman beforehand.
It's so funny when entertainment companies and other people keep on complaining about the new law when BTS and HYBE didn't even bother about it and they are very vocal and much willing to serve their country

As a multistan, it’s difficult to see the heavy criticism towards Jin’s military enlistment whilst other favourites such as Shownu, Baekhyun, Chanyeol et al are all older than he is and have either not yet joined the army or just left. bts are always getting the short end of the stick; damned if they do, damned if the don’t.
It was possible to delay enlistment until 30 before so why did they lower it in the first place?
All I can say is BTS standards is such a terror 😂
Tbh, national rules and laws should be equal for every citizen ..should not be based upon whether they are idols or not.
The same should go for women
yeah just like how they favor athletes and allowing them to not attend😌
What you say about national laws should be equal for everyone is absolutely right but in the case of military exemption there was already a law allowing athletes and etc to be exempt based on their contributions to the national fame and reputation and to be fair BTS has done WAY more than enough in terms of bringing proud and recognition to SK.
@@AManOf_Culture Yeah it should be for all! I never said that sport persons or classic musicians should get exempted..u are getting my statement wrong
