I learned this as a complete beginner within my first 3 months...learning the score bar by bar...adding another few bars each piano lesson... i can play it fluently now and so glad i learned it.... it inspired me to know i came from only knowing where middle C is!! thanks for posting this! the videos i found of this song was played differently and sounded a little bit different and this one was great! thanks so much
@@neerdles Hi. Yes, I finished it. Not only it but several other pieces. It's been 6 months now. I practiced every single day for these months and I am progressing quickly. Thank you for asking.
Its still controversial whether its by Petzold or Bach (but evidences are more favorable towards it being by Petzold). So, I think attributing both is probably the right choice but you can't avoid a controversy anyhow.
Wow, i just learned this piece but I have to say: I am not nearly as fluent in my hand movement as you are! Only one thing I would do different is, that you (accidently?) used your pinky on the first key of the 2nd part of the piece. The second time you used finger nr 4, which is recommended ;-)
Wow, it's actually so interesting to watch your fingers/hands move across the keys. I'm currently practicing this piece and I think watching your movements might help me understand the piece more :P. Thanks for making the video and clearly showing your hands!

I love it! Thanks so much, really helpful. I am having an upcoming recital involving the song, this video helped a lot to get the right tempo. It took me 2 weeks to get the whole song, improved a lot. Thank you
Nein, nicht schwer. Ist das erste Minuet, was ich bei meiner Klavierlehrerin nach 1 Monat Klavier lernen durfte. Aber üben ist angesagt, und vom Blatt lesen geht nach so wenig Zeit auch nicht.
Did you see the title page? Even if Petzold wrote this (which isn't 100% proven), the majority of listeners and pianists still consider this to be by Bach. I don't think we will ever call it the "Petzold Minuet" because nobody would know what you are talking about.
Is there any evidence that it wasn't written by Petzold? I thought it was well established in the early 1970s that BWV Anh 114 + 115 were Petzold pieces? It's true that many people, having been told it was by Bach for many years, still believe that it is (because they haven't been told otherwise) but that's not a good reason to continue to perpetuate the myth. Even if you don't want to call it the 'Petzold Minuet' because of the confusion from the historical belief that it was written by Bach, it would be more respectful to Petzold's authorship to say "by Petzold (sometimes attributed to Bach)" in your title page, rather than the other way round. Petzold deserves more than the occasional footnote.
Because it was "by Bach" for over 200 years until it was discovered by scholars that Petzold was apparently really the composer. But I still have never seen absolute proof for this theory. For older folks like me, it is hard to say it's by Petzold after thinking it was by Bach for your whole life.
don't worry it happens to every single pianist... try this trick : before playing both hands record one of the hands, make the recorded video or mp3 play and play your other hand at the same time it plays. it helps me a lot so maybe it will help you too at least i hope so

This has been firmly established since the 1970s as being Petzold's composition, not Bach's...
On the RCM book it says it is by Petzold(2008 version, it doesn't have that piece in 2015 version)
Its still controversial whether its by Petzold or Bach (but evidences are more favorable towards it being by Petzold). So, I think attributing both is probably the right choice but you can't avoid a controversy anyhow.
I think it should be changed to be by Petzold sometimes attributed to bach
