Honestly props to him for changing his mind. That is a rare superpower these days….
Justin fields legitimately broke people’s brains. I defended fields for years. He most definitely had a sub par supporting cast and perhaps not the best coaching available. But there is no world in which you watch both fields and Williams play and decide to keep him. Couple with the fact that he was due an extension and there is no decision to be made.
Some of us were hoping it fell that way at the end of 22, hard to believe it happened. The capital didn't outweigh the player, but I did think about it.
@@jailbreak852 of course. I too wanted fields to make the decision difficult.
I also was extremely vocal on keeping Fields just bc I wanted them to add talent around him. But, I couldn't ignore the loudness from the media and fans about wanting Caleb. So, I spent a lot of time watching his highlights both good & bad ones & I started to see why the noise was so loud to draft him. He's a baller & I'm glad he's a Bear.
I was also very hopeful for Fields and just thought he needed more talent around him. Then they drafted a right tackle and got him DJ, and he still underperformed. It all came full circle when you could see just how much better Love was than him in the last game of the year.
now look at steelers fans coping with fields, the cycle continues
It's all about the wins.
Carm and Glynn are always a good watch. Always informative and entertaining
I really don’t care what this dude says. He was a strong advocate for the Bears keeping Bustin Fields as QB1, and I just can’t respect anyone who was on that train without a public apology lol
Exactly. We need an apology from all these “trade for the haul” clowns
He still tried to hedge his opinion here
At this point I can’t stand Justin fields. He just never got better he was always uncomfortable being a quarterback in the nfl. It was ugly to watch and it sucked hoping and praying that somehow he would be able to play well for a full quarter at least he couldn’t put two drives in a row together he was just overall trash. He got worse as the games went on which makes zero sense
Give caleb.... petis... esq... and mooney... lets see how he do then..
@@blessingstoyou2126 and he’ll make em look good. Good quarterbacks makes average WRs look good. Jordan love was throwing to a bunch of 1st and 2nd year guys. CJ stroud was throwing to no names. Not to mention Mooney was a 1000 yard WR 2 seasons ago. Aaron Rodgers and Brady both made average guys look good
This guy fell into the trap of all the false concerns.
People who wanted to keep Justin and trade the pick either are led by their emotions or just don't know football. Watching him this year so far he's making the same mistakes, bails too early in the pocket and runs. He's been sacked so often he's ptsd.
No fault of the bears at all.... weak interior oline, horrible wrs, horrible offensive co..... ALL FIELDS
@@blessingstoyou2126quit it.
@@blessingstoyou2126 bro that's story for most of the teams in the league year in year out! Yet "ok" to "good" QBs somehow find a way to pass for at least 3500 yards a season .... Fields never did that how much more do you need to see?
No Bear fan knows football 😂
@@yuhbtw ur a bengals fan 💩
This was classy Glynn!
This guy embodies all the idiot bears fans that wanted to go the fields route, which there were a lot of..
Bring em out bring em out!😂
4K yards don't mean ish if don't result in TDs and wins
IF some of those things Glyn said had occurred about CW, he WOULD be right, yet it didn't. Hindsight is 20/20 as some, boastfully, now dismiss Glyn's pro knowledge while we sit at home having our own bias opinions! Plus, Bears got extremely lucky to get Rome who was THE last WR to take that high. Bears would've had to get an edge rusher, etc.
Glynn is always all class.
I believe in balance, stats will come. I'm hoping the backs can stay healthy
I'm a tad worried. It still looks like Caleb can't function in the quick passing game. But Shane Waldron is the most impressive upgrade.
No more back to back screens and runs to WRs on 3rd and short, and its a very QB friendly offense
“Justin Fields just needs an offensive line and wide receivers” - most bears fans defending his 10-28 starting record and 40 touchdowns, 38 fumbles, and 30 interceptions
His 4th quarter stats were horrendous 🤦🏻♂️. He just never could pull off those game-winning drives. I supported him but definitely was time. 🐻🔽
Great job Glen!
I have to admit that I was wrong I was a Justin guy Cause I held that Notre Dame game against Caleb but now did I see him play in pre season it's a totally different story go Caleb
Idk some of these guys lost some credibility this offseason. Those concerns were not there. You fell for and spread lies.
Ehhhh......I never lied about anything regarding the Bears/Caleb/Justin/Draft picks scenario. I had an opinion and explained (if you were listening) why I wanted draft picks. It wasn't about "wanting" Fields over Caleb because I thought one was better than the other. I didn't want the Bears to repeat the mistakes they as an organization had been making for over 40years w/taking QBs.
@glynnmorgan2882 but keeping Fields would have been the Bears makin that same mistake. So u make zero sense. .
@@maximus4everjay119 OMG Dude, you keep focusing on JF. The Bears traditionally (outside of Jim Finks and the '85 Bears ), would NOT stock the team w/talent to support the QBs they drafted. Trading down....Hell, trade JF as well and construct a team that can support and develop a QB, as well as win even if the QB isn't a super star.
Steelers, Ravens, Packers, have been doing this for decades. Just a POV (that clearly has proven examples). More than one way to build a team.
I can't wait until the season starts so they can stop talking about Justin. He's not even QB1 for the Steelers 😂
The thing about Caleb wanting to make money, people have wrong. He doesn’t just want an NFL paycheck. That’s secondary. He wants to be a big player and get sponsorships, commercials, have a brand, etc. that makes you way more money than an NFL paycheck if you’re successful.
He also lucked out going to a big market team where that’s more than possible to do as well.
I think having NIL $ in college give players a chance to adjust to the lifestyle change of entering the NFL. Of course, it all depends on how the player handles that, but it looks like Caleb has the maturity to make the most of it and then embrace his role as the face of the franchise while maintaining his goals and work ethic.
Looking good, Glynn and I couldn't agree with you more. Say hello to your brother, Greg for me.
Thanks LD, and I'll definitely let Greg know you said "what's up."
I remember this take all those months ago. It seemed like it almost got personal with the annyonce between you two on air. Glad everybody is over it and can joke about it.
Keeping Justin to pass on Caleb would have been the most same ol' Bears thing we could have done. But instead we got the special QB, good value with rome at #9, and might have uncovered a starting calaber DE with strong pass rush abilities, this was a really special draft.
The vibes this off-season have been immaculate. Lets keep it going into the real thing.
I was saying trade Justin and the pick if Washington was willing to overpay. Lots of QBs were out there.
Holy crap 7 months...
In this guys defense he probably didn't think Rome would be available at 9. Not bashing this guy for giving his take and opinion.
I used to get my hair cut at Bo Nicks

I Hope Caleb Williams Stays Healthy If He Wins Rookie Of The Year
Caleb hater!
Hahahahahaha, I've never said a bad or negative word about Caleb....never. I don't do that. I may express reservations and doubts about unknown quantities, but I don't spew hate on athletes.
@@glynnmorgan2882 Ok bruh, my bad. God bless.
I want to win a
Playoff game !
47 year bear fan
That’s not a crazy take. At the end of the day we’re Bears fans first. I would hope everybody felt that way 😅
No it was a crazy take
@@dnice33Hahahahahaha, stand by how you feel. Time and time again, I said it wasn't about preferring Caleb over Justin, I wanted MORE talent, because we seriously lacked in that area. Poles has done an exceptional job retooling the team, but clearly we still need more because he just made 2 more moves for defensive help and that side of the ball is already further along than the offense. Not a crazy take, just a road less traveled.
*I have zero respect for the opinion of someone who is suppose to know and was all in on Justin Fields after watching Fields for "3" seasons. Caleb Williams was such a no-brainer that any other QB or options in the draft or trades literally made no sense from start to finish.*
Now can we get Herb to apologize?
Foolishness
This guy have fell for his trap with no concerns with no apologies
Hahahahaha, I literally acquiesced on camera to the guy (Carmen) I had the initial debate with....,that's LITERALLY owning my shit and doing so publicly. Y'all trippin'
Im so happy they traded Fields
That intro was pretty tacky and a little weird tbh. No one was arguing that Caleb sucked and Justin was Peyton Manning. It wasnt "wrong" to not want to take the risk on a rookie QB. You also cant compare to a Justin Fields in an entirely new system with a Caleb with a new OC with KA and Rome.
Have the Bears beaten the Packers? Let’s wait.
This dude needs to go.
Apologize and move on , fool!... you were wrong ..and not for the first time...or last time....!
Hahahaha, Wow, "Fool" Really??? Okay, I don't have to apologize for anything because I did no harm to anyone. Secondly, I have zero problem admitting when I make an error or error in analyzing things. Part of the job. Third, by returning on-air with the VERY SAME PERSON I debated with, means I OWN MY SHIT, and did so publicly. You probably thought Trubisky was the answer in 2018, but I bet you keep that to yourself. Peace
I still hate calebstans 200 days later. They are impossible.
Ok...
