Actually intriguing. My friends dad is really intuitive, and can usually read people but he was never able to read me. Which he didn’t like, but then he ending up loving me & adopting me into the family lol. But anyways I’ve always been really intuitive. Im not psychic, but I am intuitive and it is easy to see on the camera with her body posture. She had defensive body posture, protecting her body and leaning forward for intimidation. Intense eye contact is also an intimidation factor because it shows you are not afraid. When I get readings done, they always talk about superficial stuff, but that is because I block serious stuff with fluff. Atleast I think it’s what it’s called For those who don’t know, cold reading is basically like “I feel that your dad is not with you... is that right?” If she answered yes or no, the psychic would’ve known quite a bit more quite a lot of times. As a reader myself i do want to say that we dont know everything. We are not some all knowing gods. The cards are a tool to get messages from the spirits and messages arnt always that clear. Usual when i do get a reading that has to do with a family member o get a strong sense of who but not the details. If the person that im talling to hasnt lost that person then i know that this person has to talk with that person. Theres something important that needs to be talked about even if the persom doesn't want to talk about it. Think about getting a call while you have really bad service and all you can hear are bits and peices of the conversation. Thays what readers and mediums ect, get. Conversing with the spirit world is a head ache and alot of work. Years ago I was scheduling a psychic for a party my boss was hosting. I had always wondered if they were real, but I had never pursued it. On the phone with a woman I had never met or spoken to, she suddenly started telling me very specific things about my life that stunned me. I just froze because some of it was very personal, things I don't talk about. Since then I've always been more open to the possibility that it's not all smoke and mirrors.
My science teacher in 11th grade did the same thing, explaining that psychics aren't real and what their tricks and techniques are (cold readings) and then demonstrated them in class. I'm not going to defend or deny psychic ability for sure, but it is genuinely fascinating how some can pick up on who the most important people in your life were. When I went to see a psychic while on vacation (who I found on google with 98% perfect ratings), I got a joint reading in the same room with my bf. She knew right away how his mom felt about him (bf and I have known this for a while) while pinpointing how I was raised by mine as well as things I have not known about her past (but which lined up with some things my mom has told me). And through all of that, the psychic never mentioned any other family members in my reading, and this was because I was an only child with a single mom who knew neither my biological dad nor grandparents (I only have very few memories of my maternal grandmother when I was young, all other grandparents were out of the picture). Mom and I went through some DV situations in the past, which the psychic was able to pick up on as well (without me ever mentioning anything or gave any hints) and helped me understand that I have been deeply burying feelings of resentment toward that abusive person for a long time even when they have mostly been out of our lives long ago. It was a heavy session but ultimately helped me (truly) move forward with better clarity about my defensive mechanism (which is to compartmentalize and hide the bad stuff away in denial, which definitely made it harder for the psychic to get out of me). It didn't matter anymore whether that lady was really psychic or not because in the end I still got something extremely valuable out of the experience.

tbh I feel like the psychic is just really good at reading people and informed guesses, so while i don't believe it's possible to be psychic I'm very impressed with her readings and I would be open to visiting one.

Good ones are experts at reading verbal and non verbal cues. They certainly can be insightful but I think that's more about inherent empathy, attention to detail, and practice than spiritual.

The physic used quite a lot of “cold reading”. Atleast I think it’s what it’s called
For those who don’t know, cold reading is basically like “I feel that your dad is not with you... is that right?” If she answered yes or no, the psychic would’ve known quite a bit more quite a lot of times.
I’m not saying this is fake, it’s just I saw a college humour thing so uhhhhhhhhhhhhh....
Mkay edit: the physic actually just said stuff but still used some cold reading, and there’s also a lot of different methods so I have no idea. I just felt that it was info I should’ve shared.
As a reader myself i do want to say that we dont know everything. We are not some all knowing gods. The cards are a tool to get messages from the spirits and messages arnt always that clear. Usual when i do get a reading that has to do with a family member o get a strong sense of who but not the details. If the person that im talling to hasnt lost that person then i know that this person has to talk with that person. Theres something important that needs to be talked about even if the persom doesn't want to talk about it. Think about getting a call while you have really bad service and all you can hear are bits and peices of the conversation. Thays what readers and mediums ect, get. Conversing with the spirit world is a head ache and alot of work. One reasom i will never be able to do ot professionally because after so many readings i am mentally and sometimes physically just drained.

You’re right. Cold reads and some hot reads. Hot reads meaning she had prior knowledge of some things. Any time they use numbers, those numbers can be anything. 12 can be 12th month, age, 1+2, a dozen donuts, 12 family members... etc. the psychic will probe until the person their reading makes a “connection”, or makes something in their life fit the number. Sometimes you get lucky and get an easy hit on the first try.
That’s not how they are supposed to work. Everyone is psychic and during a cold reading you get your info through Claircognizance, clairsentience, clairvoyance, calaiaudience

My science teacher in 11th grade did the same thing, explaining that psychics aren't real and what their tricks and techniques are (cold readings) and then demonstrated them in class. You would have thought he was a real so-called psychic cause the tricks and techniques worked like a charm that it made the girls cry, one even ran out of the room in tears. He also explained that it doesn't work so well on guys much because they tend to be more emotionally guarded and are harder to read, whether they realize it or not.

I'm not going to defend or deny psychic ability for sure, but it is genuinely fascinating how some can pick up on who the most important people in your life were. When I went to see a psychic while on vacation (who I found on google with 98% perfect ratings), I got a joint reading in the same room with my bf. She knew right away how his mom felt about him (bf and I have known this for a while) while pinpointing how I was raised by mine as well as things I have not known about her past (but which lined up with some things my mom has told me). And through all of that, the psychic never mentioned any other family members in my reading, and this was because I was an only child with a single mom who knew neither my biological dad nor grandparents (I only have very few memories of my maternal grandmother when I was young, all other grandparents were out of the picture). Mom and I went through some DV situations in the past, which the psychic was able to pick up on as well (without me ever mentioning anything or gave any hints) and helped me understand that I have been deeply burying feelings of resentment toward that abusive person for a long time even when they have mostly been out of our lives long ago. It was a heavy session but ultimately helped me (truly) move forward with better clarity about my defensive mechanism (which is to compartmentalize and hide the bad stuff away in denial, which definitely made it harder for the psychic to get out of me). It didn't matter anymore whether that lady was really psychic or not because in the end I still got something extremely valuable out of the experience.
ooh very interesting. My advice in life is dont hold back. Do what you wanna do, dont be afraid to do something you really want to do. Talk to those who you wanna get close again, dont make your life full of regret because I have been doing this but eventually I snapped out. You only get one life, make the most of what you can and if you are a caring person and wanna express that do it.
