Have the same bike and absolutely love it (coming from motorcycle riding) I'm really impressed by the way you made this video and the footage used. Well done sir. Keep on rocking 🙌🏻 Cheers from Norway 🇳🇴
Really great review. I did 3 seasons (here in Vermont) on my YDX Moro Pro and as an old guy suddenly finding myself in my 6th decade not wanting to give up it's been a god-send. It's sobering when your doc says "You don't want to be spiking your heart-rate to tachycardia anymore...not good for you" and your knee doc is all, "Well, that arthritis is just gonna get worse". The eMtn bike allows me to keep riding the trails I've been on (and helped develop/build) for the last 40 or so years. I saw the 30th anniversary Yam 07 all silver bike with the new PX3 motor and just had to have it. It is absolutely amazing. As you say, the bike really turns and handles the rough rooty-rocky VT trails easily. The new motor is a significant upgrade from the PX2 and I get considerably more range out of the same battery just because of the gains in efficiency. My only bitch is the electronic indicator. I kinda miss the info the YDX provided. Time, speed, odometer, estimated range remaining. The new one is just on/off, battery level and assist level. That's my only gripe with the new bike. And oh my gosh, the reasonable price...! The 'real' bike companies want you to think an eMtn bike has to cost 10-15k (I'm staring at you Pivot & Specialized) What a rip-off...! The 2024 30th anniversary 07 with the extra battery promotion Yamaha is running is a cool $6400. That's a lot of fun for that kind of dough. And as you attest, you do get excellent exercise on these bikes. I can stay out longer without being wiped out and knees swelling like grapefruits. And dear analog bikers...I'm not damaging the trails. Young dudes standing mashing the pedals on climbs are far more destructive and don't get me going on all those that are afraid of their front brakes and skid the rear wheel on descents. That's destructive. Ok, thanks for the vid. Got me excited to go ride tomorrow again.
Question for you please. What kind of range are you getting on your pro and how much more significant increase does the have? I just ordered the pro for the exact reason that you had mentioned the information on the display. I know the fork is not quite as good, and the 11 speed is not quite as good as the 12 speed 1051 on the seven. I had also researched and found that the P3 motor was lighter and smaller, but I did not see much about the efficiency and how it would affect the range. I could probably when I pick it up, pick up at seven as I believe the dealer will have some sevens in stock at that time. Just curious. Thank you very much. BTW, they are on even a deeper sale now.
Great review man! I’ve got mine few months ago as my first e-mtb and absolutely happy with it. Can you tell little bit more about how mullet feels compare to standard 27.5 wheel. What fork is it ? And I’ve noticed different bar, it seems higher.
It didn't work great with this bike, was only an experiment but I recently switched to Norco Fluid VLT which is a mullet and wow! What a fun setup. i think the mullet is the ultimate ebike setup if you want something that is going to be nimble and just pure fun to ride.
As a fellow MTB content creator I just wanted to say this is a really great production. Great visuals and very informative. Oh just one more thing. I love the RaceFace Kash Money stem looks with the OneUp Carbon bar. I recently got the Oneup carbon bar and was looking at get the exact stem, but I was in two minds about it. Now that I've seen it I'm convinced 🙌🏽🙂
Great review and break down on the bike. I just became a dealer here in Vermont few months ago and I love it!! So fun all around with handling and jumping. I even just ride mine on second level up on power "standard" and it climbs everything! ALong with great wheelies! LOL As for the display and not showing how far. You can get a Garmin and plug it in.
That's awesome, congrats! They're a super fun ride. I track all my rides on Strava so it's easy to get duration & distance in real-time. What I was referring to is the lack of detail in the display. 4 lights (or quarters) doesn't tell me much, even a % or estimated distance remaining based on the gear you're in would be signiciantly more valuable in gauging what kind of range you have left.
@@fosterbeach to be honest I was a hater until I got an emo-ped cargo. I commute, do trail maintenance and run errands on it. It’s a Kbo Ranger and now I’m thinking emo-mtb.
@@chadrathbonethere’s definitely a place for them! I use the ebike a lot on shoots and days when I need to lug a lot of gear but the Surron’s are a great bike too
There's no right answer, it all comes down to what kind of local support you have for those brands. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them, but the Yamaha is one of the best bang for your buck ebikes
Nice video ! Do you have any thoughts or details on the wheel set? It seems odd that they’re using 2.6 inch tires on 40mm internal diameter rims. Typically you’d run a 2.8 to 3 inch tire on a 40 ID rim.
Agreed. I'm not sure what the thinking on that one was, but I don't think it hurts to have the capacity to go up in tire size (if there's clearance), especially if you're riding in the snow sometimes. 2.6's seem huge in comparison to my acoustic bike tires, but you need it to support the weight on these more powerful ebikes.
They just dropped the price to 2600 and I really want to get one vs 8500 for a heckler I hate to say since I'm a fanboy of Santa Cruz. Since this has a 37mm offset did you use the same offset for the fork or did you go 44mm? That is the only thing I didn't like since I'm use to 65 64 degree angle. Thank you again. I am 240lbs and carry 3L of water Arkansas riding. Any help on the fork swap would be great. Thank you again
@@totalglitch oh man, I'm a Santa Cruzer as well. Bang for your buck this bike is it, but I also just went to Norco Fluid VLT. If you want a lighter weight, the Heckler is amazing. To answer your question, I didn't change anything. Used it as it came
To be honest I’ve barely ridden it in low power but will to reserve battery on flatter terrain. I would guess you could squeeze upwards of 50kms out of a charge if you kept it in low power

Good review, seriously like the Moro 7 & very high on my list 👌

😊 not bad for a snow storm eh? Haha I’m using the DJI lav mic and a little post love

Excellent review. Especially admitting using power assist to overcome the weight of the bike.
Thank you! It's something that's rarely mentioned
Awesome video! I’ve recently ordered a Moro 07 and tempted to mullet. What fork did you use and how much did it change the bike? Thanks
Thanks, Paul! It was a RockShox 35. The Lyrik that comes on it is a much better fork. Just had another one on hand at the time to try it

How would you say this bike is compared to the 2023 turbo levo comp would it be worth the change to this bike?
Tough for me to say without ever riding the Turbo Levo, but that's a great rig. I wouldn't be making the switch.
Just bought 2 of these and loving them so far! What are you using for fenders? Thx! 😊

Nope 😞
100% disagree with the stem. I9 STEMS are definitely the best looking
