She resembles cammelia because in old close betas this char base model was suppose to be cammelia but they decided to make new one for her and they improved old design into this new one for new char :)
1:40 I'm so glad you brought up the color diversity issue. Alot of the characters in Wuthering Waves have white dominant colors or something mixed with White being dominant again. This ended up making alot of the characters look the same in a general sense, which would stop people from pulling. People need to understand that looks matter, especially in a gacha game. Doesn't matter how good the kits are. The average people won't be willing to pull if all characters look the same. The wuwa fans bring up the bs "It's a monotone/post-apocalyptic game" excuse and I'm like so what ? Some bare minimum color variety's expected to set characters apart. Jiyan, Calcharo, Geshulin, Rover, Yangyang, Danjin and Verina are great examples of being colorfully diverse without being too flashy. Changli would've looked so good if half of her design had orange/red mixed in with white. While white's still prevalent as a major color within the Rinascita cast we've seen so far, atleast they have way more color diversity than the "All white" cast of Jinzhou. It's a step in the right direction. Atleast this gives me hope I will eventually see more colorfully diverse characters in the future.
Very hot take: What matters is the character is well-written. Their skin color comes second. No, in fact, their diversity traits may as well come third. Gameplay, lore, and personality are the main priorities. I do not want Kuro to try and include a diversity character just to tick off a checklist instead of actually integrating them as a well-designed character, because including a diversity character just to tick boxes off a checklist is the WORST way to include one and will feel as if, "Hey, we included them for the few people out there!" Instead of, "Hey, we included them because it felt nice and would be well-incorporated." CHARACTER comes first. Edit: This is NOT to say that diversity characters are badly designed. It is just that execution tends to be questionable and let us be real, people will still complain at the end of the day. Kuro is willing to listen, but if the risks outweigh the benefits, they will most likely not try it.
@@y.matocinos8448So basically, another roundabout way of saying "We're open to criticisms, as long as they're ours" just like the countless fans before you've done cuz they can't help but equate criticism and feedback with bad reputation. Color diversity matters no matter what genre your games belong in. It could be as monotone as FF7 or as colorful as Genshin for all I care. Characters NEED to stand apart and color diversity helps tons with that. All this generalist talk about "Character diversity isn't as important as character kits, lore, stories" and y'all STILL fail to realize that in a GACHA game, in order to SELL the characters, Color diversity's important to set the characters apart. Unless you're a very hardcore meta player, the general audience (including big spenders) will not give a damn about how good a character's lore or kit is if their design doesn't catches their eye to spend big on them to begin with. Gacha characters are like products in a market. Doesn't matters what they do, if they don't get attention, you'll never consider checking them out to begin with. I don't get who exactly started this whole "Character kit/lore >>>>>>>> over design" narrative within the wuwa fandom but if gacha devs in general stuck by that rule, gacha itself wouldn't become the behemoth of a money making industry that it is today. If even Kuro themselves are willing to experiment with the colors now, who are y'all to judge ? Also, I know what definition of "diversity" you was referring to and no, racial diversity's extremely important for games like Genshin and Wuwa taking inspirations from different people and cultures of the world. Hell the Rinascitan characters clearly look European inspired compared to the Jinzhou Chinese inspired and if in some cases, if the diversity for a character in question calls for a different color of skin, that's OK too. Ofcourse they won't just be there to be the token "racial diversity" characters. Do you remember characters like Archer and Cyno just for their skin color only ? Absolutely not. Their skin colors didn't entirely defined them but still contributed into their overall character, just like the European ethnicities of the Rinascitan characters do as well and there's nothing wrong with it. If you think there is, then that's a you problem. Nevertheless, I can see why what you said is a hot take and I definitely don't want the game "taking your takes" if it wants to go big or else it's gonna remain stagnant.
@@y.matocinos8448basically don't shoehorn stuff in to tick boxes, if they happen to fit the world and the story and they are cool then nobody will have an issue, what's hilarious is anime and manga have had diverse cool characters for decades, even trans and cross dressing ones and I guarantee nobody had an issue because it made sense to the story, prime example is alluka and kalluto zoldyck from HxH, if you write great characters that fit a great story it's only the genuine ists that would ever have an issue, but you can't fix those people

With the rate at which they were announcing their characters to beat the leakers, Kuro Games has evolved from “drip marketing” to “big splash marketing.”
As for the color palette, I would say that Jinzhou is a border town, in the immediate vicinity of which there is a front line. The local population is mainly military personnel, engineers or rangers and they wear either military uniforms or technical clothing such as overalls. By definition, there is no place for too bright colors and the design of the characters obeyed this principle, I suppose. Now we have a more relaxed region where locals can afford something more.
