PLANARIA TRAP Review

As well as other parasites, Planaria has been bugging aquarists for a really long time. If you found this video, you most likely have these little buggers in your aquarium. The only way to get rid of ALL planaria is to start your aquarium from scratch and redo it. This planaria are such a big pain in the ass I tried traps and planaria solutions but the only way I got rid of an infestation was to redo the whole setup from scratch.... Be careful when you introduce plants or accesories into your aquarium, always use a quarantine aquarium first so you can observe when you bring new plants/animals/accesories into your aquarium they don't have unwanted hitchhikers on them. So when I get ready to start my tanks over here is my? I am going to remove my fish & Nerites and they will be in a temporary place \ Quarantine and the Likelihood that planaria will be able in the snail shell or worse ?? I think it is best to assume some will have the key to the Quarantine......you mentioned that you were not seeing any more Planaria for 2 weeks and " were back " so.how long should the fish and snails be under etc.??? Thank you for any help 🥨

@stoneysscapes7544 yeah, ideal if you want to be 100% sure would be to quarantine fish and snails and plants in quarantine tank for 2 weeks and remove everything from original tank, desinfect everything and start all over again 😊

What are you talking about. There’s multiple chemicals that will annihilate planaria and many other pests. Breaking down a tank is not the only solution.

I had a small infestation of those guys in one of my shrimp tank. I treated it successfully with a worm medicine for dogs.
But i agree : the best way is to redo the whole tank if possible.

I've had an infestation of planaria and pest snails in one my 40 gal planted tanks before and introduce 3 yoyo loaches. After about a month or so I've never had any planaria issue afterwards. They also completely got rid of all the pest snails too.

I bought this and regret it so much, one of my zebra fish somehow managed to get into the lid and drowned, I can only assume that during the time it sat on the bottom of the tank my mystery snails may had moved it and dislodged the lid I was absolutely gutted, not to mention it didn't catch a single planarian I am picking them off the glass myself.

Watching all those planaria in the tube makes my blood pressure spike 😂. To physically remove them you would have to catch every single last one of them which is virtually impossible. Although I'd rather avoid it I always opt for a chemical solution and nuke the tank.

Well, I always freeze them 😂 If they are able to survive that, in that case as you advised, nuke the tank is the next best option 😂

A few fish that eat planaria are nice too.
Pigmy Corydoras comes to mind

Was it safe for snails, shrips and plants? Do you maybe have a link in case someone would like to try it?

It’s safe for shrimp but not for snails. You need to remove snails before you dose No-Planaria. Having said that, I didn’t completely remove all my snails and a few still managed to survive the dosing.

Just buy no planaria. It works wonders

@@agaimless3724 didn’t kill mine. Had the no planaria in for about 2 days then I used activated carbon in my filter to remove it
