@@markodragoyevich2517 I have Albino Congo tetras. One of the few fish that are more beautiful in this form, as they still have the colours in the surface sheen.
I went to house of tropicals a few times when I was researching fish and the employees werent very helpful. I ended up taking your advice and checking out our local petco and the guy who worked there was fantastic and answered all my questions. The fish were also in a lot better shape.
You 2 are one of my favorite couples.. Not only do you share a passion for the hobby but the vibe between you 2 is undeniable... Once again, Congratulations the wedding & keep on keeping my friends✌😎
Omg what a small world! I watched another video you guys made about Petco in LaPlata and I'm thinking well they are somewhere in Maryland, neat. I was born and grew up in Glen Burnie and House of Tropicals has been there forever and I just turned 60. For those in Anne Arundel county and Baltimore proper it's literally the last stop on the light rail across the street. I wouldn't buy a 125 gallon that way but everything else it's great. I agree if you want to spend time with staff don't go on Saturday afternoon. I just got back into the hobby after 15 years with a 20 gallon and you videos are awesome, thanks! Btw I have a few Albino Buenos Aries tetra and they can be bossy but not to the point of calling them semi-aggressive.
What a great idea for a video. I will have to do this at our store for training our employees! You guys are always great! Thank you for sparking my love of fishkeeping...
As always a great video! But the fish shown when you were talking about albino bristlenoses are albino gibbiceps/ Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps albino which will grow to 16-20in as well.
I absolutely LOVE you guys. Such an amazing couple you two are and i love these videos when you guys are doing stuff. Like adding the cichlids to the 240 gallon and i LOVE in the 10 videos how you switch off each number. Y'all make me happy. Thank you for all the incredible information you give ❤
Danios are great but they're SO FAST! It's impossible to catch them if you need to transfer them to a different tank or whatever you're doing. I have long finned danios and they're very beautiful and super active but yeah, they're almost as hard to catch as kuhli loaches.
Love HOT! We used to go there all the time prior to moving out of the area. Probably once a week if for nothing else than to just walk around and eyeball all the cool stuff they have and get inspiration!
I just went there for the first time, and they're one of the few places I've found that carry enough of the black phantom tetras I like to actually select the ones I wanted
Love House of Tropicals. .It’s my go to for “odd” fish. Siamese flying fox, many many variations of tetras you won’t find at big box stores, larger sized cichlids(can’t throw in petsmart babies...just end up as food). Didn’t know you were as “local” as you were. Nice to have a hobbyist that isn’t UA-cam’ing from Florida or Cali. Keep up the good work KG Tropicals. PS, shout out to my man Kevin at HoT
I just love these. I had a beta many years ago in college for several years and loved hum. After three successive fish deaths after beta, I quit. - New husband who always wanted fish and after a 5 and 10, now getting ready for a 20 gallon. 😂
The one at 17:30 is Congo tetra, they don't get large so you can keep it in a 15-20 gallon tank. Not too sensitive with water condition and nice temper. I keep it with discus and it's perfectly fine
please do more fish store tours if you can! I live in falls church so VA and MD stores are really fascinating to me. I like Tropical Lagoon in MD b/c they buy from local hobbyists and they sell for a good price on a lot! Store is also very unique
When they let you stay late you guys should do a tour of the store like everywhere so if it’s going to take you time to post videos in parts that’s fine that would be cool!!
This place is where I live!! 15 minutes from my house 😎 I love that store! Best one I've ever been to! It would be so crazy to run into you guys there one day!
The unidentified fish in your video are Congo Tetras. They are a nice larger tetra, fairly shy in small groups. The males get the long flowing fins and brighter coloring. I have a small school of them in our 75 gallon and they are very active and always hungry.
I am new to your videos, and have just subscribed after watcing about 4 vids. Great channel and really appreciate all the information. You and Lisa seem like great people too (taking the weird looking fish because you feel sorry for it, etc.).
Vinny’s Aquatics sorry, this was several years ago. I grew him from a 3” baby to a 10 inch monster but ultimately had to sell him and my 180g setup. Currently keeping mostly nano fish 😢
I have found the two times I’ve been there, one was a weekend and it was packed and I was kinda uncomfortable. I went back after a previous video where Lisa responded and it wasn’t super busy (it was a Monday) and I felt so much better
so true on zebra danio. I have only had one for over 3 years. they have been with me all the way from a 5 gallon to a 65 gallon. may be time to get it some friends.
I picked up some plants for my tank a few years ago and a couple of tiny juvenile plecos managed to sneak in with my order, I spent the next 6 months staring at them waiting for them to turn into tank busters, never found out what type they were but they've stayed around 4-5 inches, phew!
Get google lens on your phone, take a clear pic of the fish you want to identify and then run it though google lens. It is fantastic identifying unknown fish and plants or anything really.
You know people always say goldfish need a huge tank. But they never tell how big of tank you should have. Mind you I use 2 to 3 grow out tanks before there final home.
I'm pretty sure a 75 gallon would be good, or maybe a pond BUILT FOR FISH!!! Because goldfish a pretty much invasive everywhere, and if you put them in some local pond, they will breed like rabbits and ruin everything.
Nice video! the bowfin is actually a native species to the USA (not to he confused with the invasive snakhead). I guess they'd be suited for a large predator tank as they can get a couple feet long.
I'll never get used to watching people drive on the 'wrong' side of the road. 🤣 I miss going to my LFS so much, not just to look at the fish but the staff have actually become friends I can geek out on fish with. 😊 I am thinking 5 years into the hobby, it's time for a gentle step up from my 'begginer' Fish but not sure what to choose (definitely Nano species, though) 🤔.
Londontowne Tropicals has an OUTSTANDING inventory of African cichlids on the more rare side that I wish John and Lisa would have showed. I bought my Fusco, Jake’s, Haps Fryeri (ik I spelled that wrong), some Lake Victorians, sulfur heads, and even a Mdoka White Lips there!
I agree with one of the earlier comments, those are Congo tetras, I have kept them over the years. Very hardy in my experiance. Great feature fish in a group or loose school in a tetra tank!
That both in is like a fish that you could catch at some lakes in the US and rivers or spillways maybe even ponds they get pretty big they can get like 8 lb I'm pretty sure or more

I have a question before i buy my fish i wanna know how many angle fish and neon tetras can i keep in a 125 gallons
Alright this Is actually a rlly good shop most shops overprice items by a lot so thxs also the Betta plush look rlly cool
What is better hang on the back filter or sponge filter
The cow fish looks like a floating baked potato.. I love him!! 💜😊
I have one it is a potato
If it is what i think it is, Malaysian Chinese call it Soon-Hock fish. A prized and expensive eating fish.
Correct. It’s a marble goby . Cow fish is the broad spectrum of similar fish like the water cow goby
More like cheese OwO
@@myaquariumshow3203 No, it is a Water Cow Goby aka Sleeper Goby

OMG!! I've watched ALL your videos to start my Angel Fish aquarium and I live in Glen Burnie MD! That's my fish store too!

so cool. thank you both! loved this trip. loved looking at all the different fishes.
Thank you for specifying Glen Burnie because I didn't know how I could get to Baltimore and make it out alive.
I've never been to America but it looks so beautiful in all the videos and documentaries I love to watch 🤗
So glad you all did a show on HoT. It's my favorite store! I need to visit again soon!

This is a new way... Nice to see this. Virtual shopping... Yay
I love house of tropicals! I go there every month and its a 2 hour drive for me 😂
So you're the reason he couldn't make the video we wanted. You overcrowd the store like an Oscar in in 5 gal tank. Why??
I have been going there for years. One of my first fish I bought there was a big tiger Oscar and it was almost 30 years ago. I was like 15☺
Didn’t know you guys were in the DMV area! I live in between VA and Baltimore and love the shop! Thank you for the great content!

Those fish are Congo Tetras. The males look great, when fully grown. Very hardy. Great for 30 gallon aquariums or larger.
I have yet to get up to House of Tropicals. I usually catch myself going to Richmond because it's just easier to get to with the traffic in our area.
I love this video ! 🌸

Lol apparently you didn’t watch the whole video🤔🤔🤔
I just went there. literally the only store I need now. its huge
Nice vid!!!
We also call a bowfin a mud fish In the south. They get huge! They are like a living dinosaur. They will eat EVERYTHING! Lol.
I had a zebra danio that broke his back and he repared it by himself ( with clean water ) really hardy fish and fun to watch swim around
Keep up the good vids
Congo tetras are great if you keep them in a group of at least 6. Under lights they are stunning.
I'll need to check them out. I'm in Spotsylvania, VA
House of tropicals! I'm a glen burnie resident. I grew up in H.O.T.
