There are so many ways to play the piano more beautifully. We have a playlist with a bunch of lessons: ua-cam.com/play/PLfM8ivjJ-rKW6YDSgcNOGt3pjtkwHBAAb.html Here are the timecodes to turn your piano time in a relaxing time: - Our arpeggio pattern - 0:51 - Our chord progression - 1:50 - The right-hand notes - 2:55 - Getting fancy - 4:10
You don't need luck, you need drive, and you already have that in spades if you took the plunge and bought a set of keys. That being said, I do hope you'll have an easy time learning the basics. The most important words ever told to me were "Try not to get discouraged, and remember that even Beethoven was a beginner once" ;) Crush it out there and please bring you music to the masses.
While a lot of channels focus on you learning songs and learning tricks alongside them Here Lisa makes you realize why you're playing the piano in the first place. Hats off to you, best piano teacher I've ever seen.
Sounds beautiful, I actual do this when I'm warming up. I just pick random cords and start improvising with all different rhythms. I think it's more relaxing than working on my pieces of music out of the music books I own.
This is perfect for me... Because one of the reasons I bought a piano and decided to learn how to play it is so I can keep myself emotionally in check and sane specially in these very stressful time. My digital piano just arrived 1 week ago so I'm pretty much a beginner for now.
This is exactly what I need. Usually, when practicing a new piece, the piano just makes me feel more stressed because I make many mistakes. Thank you for sharing this beautiful works
Thank you Lisa. I never try this kind of thing. I’m going to have a go tomorrow. It’s like the piano flows for you rather than the usual doing battle with it!
Welcome to the piano!!! If you'd like some free beginner lessons, we have a great series that I think will help you get started: www.pianote.com/getting-started
You should offer in person lessons, honestly. I need it! You are just the person I need. My last little step to become a pianist. I’m 14 years old. This is my dream. (Please reply)
I absolutely love this Arpeggio! My wife was a bit stressed so i asked her to relax on the sofa whilst i played these cords and then mixed them up ever so slightly and WOW! Asleep in less than 5 minutes ......Ah.....Relax....❤️...
Simply delightful, Lisa. Not only relaxing but also I find that the aim of these exercises is to broaden the pupils's creativity when approaching to the music and of course when playing the piano from another perspective. Bravo, Pianote. Well done!
This is really nice. And one of the reasons, why I have chosen to learn and hopefully some time to play playing the piano. I love the soothing tonality of the lower keys and embrace the relaxing vibrations of the melodies and voices of the piano.
I will definitely get this under my fingers. It is a beautiful progression. Thanks for sharing. Have to fit it in among all the things from my Pianote lessons.
How did I miss this video from 4 months ago? I think I didn't realise that there was a left hand arpeggio lesson in there until I started watching the video :) This is the BEST left hand arpeggio for me to practice L/R hand independence and the first time I've tried any broken chord on my left hand. You made this sooo easy to do! Thank you Lisa :D
I started learning the piano a year ago, and since I don't have the time or concentration to practice it every day to achieve any noticeable progress, I am doing my best to learn some songs, practicing them once a week, or once in every two weeks. I feel really self-conscious about it and I am always beating myself up for not having the mind to practice piano and make some significant progress in terms of speed and hand independence. However, Lisa's videos always make me feel better, as if I can get somewhere even with my little tiny steps. I hope a little goes a long way and I am deeply grateful for Lisa's videos and the encouragement to us, who have been beginning longer than the others!
I started learning last month and your videos have been really helpful. My goal is to play at least one full song after this pandemic. Thanks! Stay safe.
Ooh great idea thanks! We have a few that "might" help in that situation: ua-cam.com/video/0D10E5fCD8Q/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/o9WrJbRCaOs/v-deo.html
Lisa, your joyful presentation of piano techniques and ideas are just lovely. I certainly appreciate how you take some of the fear and confusion of trying to play well. Thanks, so much! :)
i LOVE your videos. I have been going live a lot lately, and it seems like every time I watch your video, I have a chance to learn something new to incorporate. I appreciate that
You should search the pianote channel for both rhythms (there's a great video I believe with one of the drumeo instructors, could be wrong on his affiliation but it's pretty comprehensive) and left hand exercises. Also there's a fantastic video on controlling emotion with rhythms... I believe it's called either making your playing dramatic or emotional, using rhythms, or something to the effect of that rhetoric. I hope that helps:)
Thanks! Here's the video with Dave (from Drumeo): ua-cam.com/video/8F8pPgVfvcg/v-deo.html And here's the emotion with rhythm lesson: ua-cam.com/video/Dz_4R3EBk2w/v-deo.html Hope you enjoy!
Lisa you are such an inspiration for piano players at all levels. These short, simple clips ignite a curious flame of seductive hope that compels a soul to search deeper. 👈🏼Ok that was weird. Nah, I’m leaving it there. 🌺
Just learning the basic scales but this looks like a great way to make piano more than work, while I still get to try hand independence and improvisation and stuff. Love it, thanks!

THIS! THIS IS THE REASON WHY I AM LEARNING KEYBOARD. IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL!
Music.......Food for the soul
Sounds beautiful, I actual do this when I'm warming up. I just pick random cords and start improvising with all different rhythms. I think it's more relaxing than working on my pieces of music out of the music books I own.
Yeah it's so much more relaxing to be creative than to try to emulate a very fixed route
