Charlemagne is apparently praised as a forgiving, virtuous figure, but I personally feel his character is filled with abundant flaws. Extella's use of him and Karl don't really seem to have much to do with the actual stories. What do you think?

I feel like they just wanted to add another saber that has a connection to Rome and/or Nero. That's just I think, I still dont know about him much, (other than this video) even tho maxing his bond to max. I know more about Karl then him.
His biggest flaw was that he was too nice. He split his kingdom between his three sons. All of whom fought over it. He's the reason Germany and France hated each other for a century or two. Also, I too finished my Playthrough of Extella Link, thank you Dai. (BTW I'm mad that they removed Archimedes from the events of Extella. I hope they don't leave him removed from Extella 2 as well).
OtakuDaiKun I think why Extella's use of them don't really reference the actual stories and perhaps even historical fact is that that the two are usually summoned as one combined "Charlemagne" spirit and under the Ruler class. The only reason they're summoned separately is due to a bug in the Moon Cell's system, which is an entirely different issue. So I feel like if they were summoned as they were supposed to be, as one servant combined of historical fact and fictional stories they'd have more of a connection to the,. Then again... I guess you could blame Link's story being written by Apocrytha's writer and how he tried tying literally all the Fate/ series entities into the "narrative" by being mentioned through story or bond conversations or simply talking to them at the fortress.

Charlie's interaction with Gilgamesh is rather funny. The AUO himself recognized him, told him that he deserves his title "the Great".
Let's not forget how he also wanted Charlie to compliment him in front of Artoria.

Weird random fact: Christopher Lee, known for many roles in film, some choices being Dracula in a few films and Count Dooku from the Star Wars series, is actually a distant descendant of Charlemagne.
Take this however you will, but I expect fan art of Charlemagne with a red curved lightsaber and shooting lightning out of his fingers eventually.

Funny how Astolfo, Paladin of Charlemange, ends up under the command of Dracula, who was frequently portrayed on film by Charlemagne's descendant, the late Sir Christopher Lee.

jon erikson Honestly, unless they plan on doing it sooner, I'm quite sure they won't do the Extella and Extella Link servants of Archimedes, and both Charlemagne's until they finish the CCC Foxtail Sakura Faces, aka Violet and Kazuradrop and make a sequel to it. So either we wait 6 years to finally get to those three (probably enough for a third Extella game to be made honestly, aka another original servant or two), or we wait 4 if they decide to drop Violet and Kazuradrop in the same event and then another 2 for the sequel event. Or probably the best case scenario: they drop all of them with a CCC event sequel. Though personally I think it's one of the first two I said, and then when those three come to FGO we get Archimedes, (Saber) Charlemagne, (Ruler) Charlemagne, and if a third Extella game comes out beforehand whoever they add in it. Though of course I'd also be really happy if they decided to add both Hakunos in as well, the male one being an Avenger Class servant, aka HAKUNO from lost encore, then the female one probably being a pseudo-servant, I'd imagine Caster class for that one which would be the one from Extra, CCC, Extella, and Link.

Eltonya Higgins well Charlemagne is popular and we have two paladins already in fgo. I’m not saying that it’s guaranteed but it’s more than likely that he’ll come to fgo with more of the paladins, they have no reason not to implant him. Fgo is a monopoly of servants and type moon will have fans bringing out their wallets if they had him, we just have to be patient

Just wanted to point out that Charlemagne’s grandfather was Charles Martel “The Hammer”. He reunified France and pushed out the Spanish Muslims, never losing a battle I might add. Obviously anyone with the moniker “The Hammer” is a suitable candidate for a Servant. Yay history nerding.

So Charles de Martel orginized his troups and took them on in a head on battle. Before Charlemagne the Franks were known for having big polearms, particularly Axes. So if we get a Charles servant he gonna be weilding a big weapon.

I started playing fate extra link today and I really like Charlemagne personality in this game

I heard that there is a Legend where King Charlemagne in our world is sleeping in a cave in a mountain called Untersberg and is taken care of by dwarf-like creatures, he wakes up every 100 years to see if Choughs(a species of bird there) are still around if they are, He will sleep again for another 100 years only when they all die he will wake up I think (according to wikipedia)

@james vanitas that is referred to as a bergentrückung, and it is a thing attributed to several people in legend. They are basically going to come back during the apocalypse to save the world. Others that are apart of this trope are King Arthur and the knights of the round, Fionn mac cumhail and the Fianna, William tell, Francis Drake, Vlad the impaler (yay?), and many many more.
It wouldn’t be too far fetched to say he will appear in Lostbelt 6 because that would be the most appropriate place too place him (at this moment), story wise for FGO or he can appear in a event

I know everyone has said it but I'm in agreement we need Charlie the King of the Franks and Awesomeness in FGO, and if possible a new series where he's the lead servant protagonist as seeing him as the lead servant protagonist of a new entry in the Fate-Multiverse would be great due to his adorkable obsession with being cool and awesome personality being a great highlight with the right writing, and right voice-acting.

@@OtakuDaiKun I just got into the whole fate series but I never knew he was in it. I did a 23 and me tests and the ancestry.com spit test and found out I am related to him. But then again it not really special, thousands of people are related to him.

Besides the members of the Knights of the Round Table being released in FGO, I have many servants on the wishlist hoping DW will release them like Charlemagne or Archimedes from Extella Link, maybe Cu fused with Blonde hair Rin or LuBu fused with Rani VIII (that have similarities with Seig as they are both homunculus) from Fate/Extra, then some Kazura Drop or Violet or Alter Ego Tamamo and Many other I could wih for.

Nah, that's just Astolfo and Bradamante. Roland would likely be Burst based and both Oliver and Ogier Arts based.

just had a thought, Sasaki Kojiro was fictional so the grail grabbed a ghost and used it as a template correct?
So since Saber Charlemagne is just the fictional legend, is it possible he's a Gudao face because the MoonCell used Gudao as a template since Ruler was already on SERAPH?
I mean doesn't the Moon cell watch parallel worlds? It wouldn't suprise me if it has a record of Gudao
Gudao looks like that because his design is supposed to be a male version of Tohsaka, just like Gudako is supposed to be a female version of Shirou.
You could argue Charlemagne's design is somewhat inspired by Gudao's though.
And there's the fact that there's a very high chance that if you are Europan, you are a descendant of Charlemagne in some way. So yeah.

Why does it sound like your saying hmm sounds every 2 or 3 words (like you pondering a question.) Is there a reason for it or is that just the way you talk?
Actually it's more of like, your tAlking and rAisIng certAin sounds (sounds would almost sound depressed or like you're voice is shutting down). Not trying to be offensive, it's just really hard to explain what I'm trying to get across

Didn't Roland think he would die, so he smashed the Durandal on a rock in a rage, revealing the almighty powers, so he could beat the Saracens?
Xuanathan There are different variations of the tale I'm sure. I went with the one where they die since that's how Astolfo dies.
The thing is that he was too prideful to call for help until he saw his closest friends die at the end of the battle. Him trying to break Durandal indeed scared most of the Saracens in the tale but it happened after using the olifant with the intention of giving the fallen proper burial. His body was already tearing apart from its usage so he wouldn't let anyone use his sword after death.
