My sister and I both engage in dark humor, but only amongst ourselves. We were teenagers when our mom got cancer and our dad checked out emotionally from the family, so dark humor was our coping mechanism for it. fun fact about “buzz”: a few days ago, he made a joke where he walked all over an american flag. a bunch of his fans got really mad and said he went “too far” and he lost 10k followers. i’ll admit that was probably the one time he was kind of funny because he just made another tiktok walking all over the flag in response and called the people unfollowing him snowflakes. but it just shows how hypocritical his fans are. they stuck around after he joked about rape but then he steps on their precious flag and they lose their shit and say it’s “too far.”

People forget that dark humor are things like Brooklyn Nine-Nine (well most of it), all of the comedy in The Favourite, and April Ludgate from Parks and Rec. It’s not being a bigot, it’s just having a humor that jokes about the dark things in life or finding humor in a very mundane and bleak situation.
