I purchased this plant 4 months ago and couldn’t find much information or the name, plant was just sold as a succulent. Thank you, now I know the name of my plant and it’s care. Great succulent teacher.
I just got one of these. It's very small, and it tipped over onto its side under the grow light for a day or two. Half of it turned red on the underside of the leaves, and I just thought that was so neat! It's upright once again and the color is evening out, getting more intense every day. I love it so much. It was $2.50 very well spent. Thanks for this information. I'll know not to worry if it turns green when I up pot it.
I happened to re-pot a container of succulents today, and I was using four of these crassula capitella plants that were grown from the cuttings. Love your collection of succulents.
I live in Southern California and planted the crassula in full sun and barren soil (only found out later the soil was infertile). I actually didn’t know it does best in these conditions. It looks very happy!
Hello Theresa, this is Phialin. I just begun with succullents for about 5 months now. I am very new to this and I'd like to say, how I've fallen in love with cactus. I used to live in Tucson, but the Saguaros and barrell cactus were too prickly for me --I had a bad experience before when we lived in White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. I love plants...any plants! (I am from Kawit Cavite, Philippines. Actually Barrio Binakayan. I was born and raised there.) This is very different. Cactus. I am on the creative side like you and I am loving and living your days. The Difference is, I do not have much to work on and I've spent money that I didn't have. I have a friend Thelma from Fremont and she gave me cuttings I don't know what to do with. BUT I leaned so much during this past 2 months. I already bought rocks, sand, potting soil, perlite, and red rocks for the landlord's front yard. I am helping her beautify her front lawn. I really feels great! Now, if you don't know I have a bad back L4-L5, L5-S1. so I do it very slowly. A few hours a day when the sun has gone. I do about a good 4 -5 hours limping and crawling. Hahahaha. But i love doing this. I got help. My friend help me with the bags of soil and rocks. I hired a man at Home Depot parking lot to unload the rocks and soil. I even went to a huge rocks store in Fremont to get more --it's inexpensive doing it this way.
I just ordered another box of your beautiful cuttings. Couldn't resist hitting the send button and placing my order again because the one I received last week is so pretty and all are living and some are already rooting. Rather spend $35.00 on your colorful and unusual varieties than waste that money on 2 or 3 plants at the store that may not even live. Tks for making them available. Hope you have some more types ready to include but who cares I will still be excited when i open.❤🌸
My pkg of cuttings arrived TODAY. Was surprised to see it was out for delivery when I checked it. Thanks so much very fast. And there are just as pretty as the first shipment. Love the variety Excited to see them start to grow. My first shipment still has all its bright colors and would probably grow faster if I would quit looking at them lol😀❤tks
What a great video! Thank you, Teresa, for the whole story about Crassula capitalis. Now I know what the plant is trying to tell me when it turns green. The treatment for mites is very helpful, too. Thank you. 🌱🌱🌱🌞
Thank you for another helpful video. My plants and I are grateful for all of the information you share with us. Your yard is beautiful. We're in Missouri and I think Spring might finally be here.
Continue --I love your voice, soft and calm. You are going to put me to sleep. Lol. So, besides buying stuff from Amazon, I must go to get more pots. I need at least 100 4" ones. Thank you for the lessons --I've been watching you --really and you answer my questions all the time. Please take care. Salamat uli!
I bought the tweezers!! Absolutely LOVE THEM! Worth every penny!! Thank you so much for creating them and giving me so much knowledge! I love you dearly! ❤️😘💋
Love the sedum, Haworthias and Crassulas. I believe that Crassulas were named from Crassus --an Emperor from Rome during Julius Caesar's reign. Or Octavian. It sounded from one of my Roman Civilization class back in college. I have Crassula Campfire.
Liked and Subscribed! I just brought home a Crassula Campfire. I had no idea what it was until I took a picture and my iPhone identified her. I'm nervous as I do not have a yard to plant her outside, is she okay inside in front of a window? I sure hope so, otherwise, she will have to be planted at my Aunty's house 🤣
I've noticed that if you search "crassula capitella" you'll get campfire, red pagoda, shark tooth, etc. But these are all still classified as "capitella" even though they look vastly different. Does anyone have any input on this? Surely a campfire cannot be the exact same as a red pagoda
Lon Lon yes, they are not the same. This is Campfire. The red Pagoda is closely stacked and the leaves are smaller and pointed.Theres another capitella ‘ Red dragon’ that is trailing ang the leaves look like red pagoda but stacked in different way and with shades of purple.
Thanks for the information. Do you have any videos about the multi-level planter boxes in this video? I would love to start a wall of them like you have here.
Teresa I enjoy your videos. I always learn something. I really like the examples of whatever topic you're doing. I also want you to know that the cuttings I've gotten from you are doing well. This summer will be my first since expanding my succulent collection. I'm hoping to plant some in my garden but I'm a bit nervous about it. The Houston area is challenging with certain succulent types. Between our heat, humidity and rain succulents are challenged often. Crossing my fingers. 😉
Thanks for all your informations!!! I like how your using dog nail clippers for secateurs! I have this plant and I think it may be suffering from a fungal infection, white mould stuff and is deforming the new growth :( I've tried the milk method to remedy recently, but I think I will cut off the affected parts and transplant into new sterile soil... wish me well :)
Hello. I enjoy your videos very much and am learning a lot from them also. I live in the high desert in Victorville, Ca., where the temperatures in the desert can get into the triple digits and am reluctant to stick my succulents out in the sun. They are all in pots and the rear of my home faces the south. They are all lanky because they are all reaching for the sun and none of them have vibrant colors because I'm Scared 😱 to kill my succulents.
These plants are native to arid places where they are exposed to sun all day. They have ways to protect themselves. To safely expose them, it has to be done gradually.
Thank you for your answer to my question but I have one more to ask. About how long should I leave them out in the triple digits everyday so they can get acclimated to these conditions? Thank you.
Anuenue in order for them to get used to the heat of the sun, they need to be constantly exposed. Moving them in and out is not good. Do not start exposing them to the sun when it ha very hot. Protect them instead.
recently purchased a crassula from a local nursery. initially the leaves were densely packed, after about a week or so they all seemed to grow taller and less dense. wonder what I'm doing wrong. I do keep it inside near a east window. ( I'm located in Vacaville California. Zone 9 I think) I purchased a grow light bulb (daylight spectrum) and I wait till dry before watering. what do you think?
Very good tutorial! 👍You have such a great and colorful collection. Is this your garden? It's really beautiful and I love seeing how vibrant and colorful your succulents are. 😍😍 Would all succulents do well under the sun including the elephant bush?
Hi, i am living in Singapore and it is consider high humility although we get good Sun throughout the year. Is there any thing we can do to get colours on succulent? Is it crucial for succulents to experience cold temp in order for their colours to be vibrant?
James Lim it also depends on what variety you have. They definitely need abundant if sunlight. They are more vibrant when it’s cold but we still have colorful succulents here during summer even though it’s warm at night.
@@ChopstickandSucculents thanks for the info, glad to know there might be a chance to develop colourful succulent here in Singapore. Our temp is around 24-35degC all year long. Should i water my succulent less since Singapore humidity is higher?

What do you do with the flower portion? I happened to buy a succulent. Come to find out it is the flower portion of this plant and I dont know what to do with it. Should I propagate seeds once it dries or will it grow into another plant?
