Hognose Snake Babies Hatching in Winter!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 22 лют 2024
- In November, Mitosis the hognose snake decided to lay a clutch of eggs. We suspect she did it to get out of brumation (which worked)... Well low and behold, the eggs were fertile and have hatched!!

Imagine being the little baby hognoses inside the eggs and hearing everyone squeal in joy at you
lol
That would be really weird 😂
I would be freaking out if someone squealed for me as a hognose.
Snek: *finally pips*
Noise from outside world: "(muffled screaming!!)"
Snek: 😳... ima play ded. 😖💀😖 *refuses to hatch*
-pops head out- "KEEP IT DOWN IM TRYING TO SLEEP"
Hey Emily and Ed! My boyfriend and I adopted the corn snake baby that appears at 10:55 ! We love her so much!! Love your videos, congrats on the little superconda!
That's so cute
Very pretty snake,that one
Are you local or did they ship?
@@JodiLeaSnakeQueen We’re local!
Congrats! Beautiful snake
"Size doesn't matter"
"🤨 yes it does" 😂😂😂
I snorted😂
@@isabellajohnson956 me too. i sometimes forget they're a pg channel with some of the adult jokes
@@isabellajohnson956 me too XD
👍😂
@@VaelaAnn777 there jokes are more pg then most kids movies.
If you’re looking for baby names you could name it Anaphase or Telophase (since they are part of mitosis in a cell)
Or Meiosis (because it makes the offspring of mitosis)
@@anyashenoy5526that’s perfect!
I know today is technically their true birthday but I'm still so happy their egg day was on my birthday! Seeing the date written on the lid always makes me happy!
Happy bday! 🎉
Happy Birthday 🎂🥳
@@Rainbow4ueveryday thank you but you don't have to! My b-day was Nov 29th 😅😄
@@mello_the_cat thank you but you don't have to say that! My b-day was Nov 29th 😅😄
@@DJdemonking it doesn’t really matter it is still happy birthday for future day. 🎉Happybirthday!!!
the way that baby's head just went *_SHOOMP_* back into the egg had me howling, it looked so much like CGI (I know it wasn't tho).
“Shhhh, I’m totally not a spy snek” XD
Honestly there's some footage of Rex, like when they were taking her out of her enclosure at the zoo, where she looks almost animatronic. It's the weirdest thing
omg, the super conda being a drama queen is too funny😂
That was hysterical
it's so sweet hearing Emily do the baby voice to the eggs/ babies. she treats them like puppies, i love it here
I do that with every animal I talk to, don’t matter if it’s wild or not. Lol
Animal = baby talk because it’s just a lil guyyyy!!
Mitosis babies! Shame that Jester didn’t get to be a dad, but I’m sure he’ll have his day someday!
I think Jester may have been the dad to some of the babies. From what I understand, a clutch may not all be from the same dad. Based on the number of normals, it is statistically more likely that Jester is the dad of some of them, and the only one we know for sure was bruhs is the super. But it will forever be a mystery just like why mitosis had babies in winter 😂
@@MissDirectmitosis is a strange snek
Spoilers😅 my fault but yk- I love reading comments while watching-
Awesome!
He got to try this time at least 😂
When I'm sad, first response is to watch a random baby video from y'alls. Having a NEW baby video in EARLY is just the best serotonin boost.
"A yawn is your body's way of saying 'Nope I'm done with today'." ....Is this why I'm yawning all day?
Lol same
I wonder if Jester was also the dad in this clutch. Bruh clearly was the dad of the super but that might explain the abundance of normals?
I was worried about mitosis crashing after her second clutch but I’m so happy to hear she’s doing great 😊
Do u mean mitosis dieing🤔😱
Winter noodle hatching? Heck yea
i just love your videos! im in the UK your videos get added at midnight here 😅 but they're always worth the late nights! x
So true! ❤
True
I'm in Germany and i usually see the videos when I wake up the next morning cause its always around midnight or 1am :'D
i love when the hognoses are super dramatic, its so adorably funny
I know this is super off topic, but I ordered from that small business in OK of that chocolate place and my box came today! I'm SOOOOO excited to try the chocolates! I love emily and her craziness for chocolate because I'm the same way! I literally crave chocolate so much it's bad-
And I got a surprise chocolate! Their coming out with a new frog and they gave me one with my order! I'm so excited to try the froggy!
I'm so glad you guys went to that chocolate business because literally as soon as I watched the video I ordered some chocolate from them!
Ditto! I ordered right away and got mine on Friday. Best chocolate ever! And I also got a free chocolate frog. I told them I was ordering because of a Snake Discovery video, and I got a little note that said "Thanks for 'Discovering' us." It was so sweet!
@@marybethmullens9323 The chocolate is TO D*E FOR!
Best recommendation ever! I will be ordering from them a lot more in the future! I love when Emily and Ed go on their little adventures and they find cool things like that and promote small businesses. Because I LOVE supporting small businesses as much as I possibly can. So when I watched the video and it was a small chocolate business I HAD to support them and of course try their chocolate for myself!
Oh my gosh! I got the same note! :D I laughed it made me think of Emily and Ed honestly-
Here in Australia Snake Discovery videos are my Saturday morning treat with my coffee ❤❤❤ Im originally a country gal and where i come from all the snakes are deadly so was never a fan of them. Thank you Emily and Ed for getting an Aussie country gal to like snakes. PS my rescue Blue Tongue Lenny says Hi!
I don't even like snakes but hognoses look adorable from a distance.
They’re even cuter up close
I held one at a reptile expo and it was so cute and silly
Keep watching this channel and you will like snakes after a while! Emily and Ed have a way of convincing even the most hardened snake haters to come to love the noodle family.
😂😂😂 I started watching 5 years ago when a friend of my son, dumped a ball python on him. I watched to figure out how to care for that snake (I was not into snakes AT ALL). Five years later…I have bought 2 King snakes and a Hognose for ME 😅😊 got my first snake at 50.
If you keep watching…they grow on you
Mitosis has such pretty babies, their patterns turn out so unique and beautiful. Hooray for the first babies of 2024! 🎉❤
These eggs were laid on my birthday so they'll always be special to me. Beautiful babies. 💚
I'm have a trial day at a reptile zoo in soon and you are the reason I got inspired to educate myself and get to where I am today! Thank you for being such an inspiration
I don't know if I can wait any longer for more babies!!!! This was soooo exciting Mitosis knew what the fans wanted and decided to lay her clutch late so we had something to look forward to!❤
The one with cool outlines at 6:00 also appears to have a Mitosis pattern ❤
I made that Ekans in the back ❤I love how you all display the crafts your fans send you! Keep being awesome 🎉
I saw that Ekans magnet and thought that is was very very cool!
@@michelleneal6860 Thank you!
When I saw one of ur vids for the first time (egg cutting) I was discussed but now 6 year later I love it ❤
That orange stripe is so cool. I love seeing it every time.
I'm 36 and never handled a snake but over here wanting a hognose.
It would appear that these babies have inherited their mom's sense of timing, lol.
Hello :D ive revisted this channel after a long time and just popped on in to say you were my childhood, thank you for raising someone who would have otherwise been afraid of snakes but now confidently picks them up, you were the best :D
I am actually in the video as well. The birthday girl is my older sister. And she absolutely LOVES snakes.
this is heaven.. a baby video in winter
Agreed ❤
Omgosh! I got the little superconda! His name is Zion Hisstopher. He is doing fantastic and eating great. I am so excited that I found this video of him hatching and playing dead for a meet and greet. Thank you, Emily and Ed, for all your help and kindness when I came in to get him.
Clicked so fast lol more babies!
you should name a hognose snake after the birthday girl in the biggening of the video!
Omg these hogs are adorable! Just in case you need name suggestions, I think hypnosis because it rhymes with mitosis
I just SQUEALED- scared my cat and my partner 😂
I think the Wild Kratt brothers would love you guys
I was talking to some customers of mine at our pet store here in Raleigh NC, we got on the subject of UA-cam and they showed me pictures of a time when the met you at snake discovery, I was blown away, I have been watching you for years and first off I didn’t know you were so tall lol second I think it’s awesome you took time to take photos with their kids even though I’m sure you are super busy everyday. Keep up what you are doing much love from Raleigh North Carolina.
The fact that they're both 6 ft is so misleading but so funny when you realize. I think Rex's enclosure pool getting filled was when I went "wait a min-" 😂
i just wanted to say that I love your videos, your one of my favorite comfort youtubers!
There was one of the normal babies who had Mitosis' signature conjoined spots! They're all so adorable!
I called it! Hahaha 😁 Right before Emily said that the dad was Bruh I was like, "the dad is totally Bruh".
Not me immediately pressing the notification when it popped up 😂
To day is my birthday!!! I’m so happy that this video came out on my birthday. It was a perfect timing. :)
I just got my very first baby hognose on Sunday. She's so fast and wiggly! But so adorable. I love seeing your hognose videos
I will never get tired of babies hatching!❤❤
finally, the "brumation excuse" eggs!
That male conda has the coolest pattern! I would love to have that one he is stunning! I love how symmetrical his pattern is with the little mini dots between the big splotches!
Great stuff! These little guys make all the "other stuff" worthwhile! Thanks for cheering me up!
Babies!!!
Mitosis... bless your heart! May you slither in paradise!
Viva la babies!🎉🎉🎉
Didn't mitosis die, or am I mistaken?
My bad... you answered my question. I'm so glad she didn't die. I'm a disabled old lady with memory problems ... I remember we lost one of my favorite Snake Discovery snakes last year... but now I can't remember which one. If I were able-bodied, I would have me an albino hoggie, but since I'm not... I watch Snake Discovery 🐍 to get my reptilian fix. I ❤ hoggies... every color of the rainbow!
@@kellyharper367 it was Mitosis' mom that passed away, Omnomlette
I always feel a bit sad when the snek isn't what Emily and Ed wanted and they sound a bit disappointed 🥺🥺
Hognose snakes are definitely my favourite ❤ they are so cute 😍
So cute!🐍❤Little babies in the winter. I love the playing dead. Give him an Oscar🏆😂
the baby is soooo dramatic! lol he deserves an oscar for his performance
The video where mitosis laid eggs in the winter was the first video of yours that I saw, so I have been so excited for this!
Super excited about this clutch they were laid on my birthday 🥳. I’ve been waiting for these adorable babies ever since 🥰🥰
The little guy had an audience and he wasn't going to miss his chance to be a ham.
I love how the spots on the little normals, like the three spots Ed pointed out, all look like they took after their mom's "mitosis" pattern! Even if she's a conda they still wanted to take after mom 😂
Omgosh you have no idea how happy I am, I've been so excited to see these babies hatch. I love you Ed and Emily stay awesome possums
Ahhhh we live in Colorado but have added snake discovery to our road trip this summer! Can't wait, hopefully we get to meet you guys ❤
I love watching my old stuff like the good old days🥹
My six year old daughter wants me to tell you that she loves all your snakes! We started watching your channel when she decided she wanted a ball python two months ago, and now it's on all the time at our house. 😊
Ball Python's are good beginner snake! They can sometimes be picky eaters but their temperment is exceptionally chill.
10:56 - OMG! Vivid as a sunrise! Gorgeous!
Your videos are so cool
a wintery drama queen ❤❤
seeing the bunch of leftover variable kings made me even more certain that the snake I bought THINKING it was a variable king (I wasn't up to date on how the Mexican kingsnake complex was resolved, whoops) is really a Mexican kingsnake (Lampropeltis mexicana) which I NEVER see anyone talk about even though they are SO pretty?
I hope those variable kings find good homes soon/have already found them
I don't always see dramatic snakes but when I do, they're hognoses 😂
Wasn’t Mirage paired with Mitosis. They had a clutch. On the holdback video, the first holdback was a pairing of Mitosis and Mirage.
Right after i get home from my first performance of my musical, I’m blessed with baby hognoses!!!
I can never get over how this is like Pocket Frogs in real life
I love how excited you get when you check the eggs!!!
I would say that clutch is like the starter clutch for future clutches born in the winter and throughout the year vs in one particular time of the year. Very cool!! :)
So happy to see the babiesss!!!
Love your videos! A great way to end our day
All of them are really calm!
Such a dramatic little Super Conda 😂
Emily and Ed are some of the only UA-camrs who are exactly who they seem to be.
OMG SNAKE DISCOVERY! I USED TO WATCH YOU ALL THE TIME! I USED TO FEAR SNAKES BUT NOW YOU HAVE MADE ME REALISE THAT THEY AREN’T SCARY AT ALL!
Never been this early 😁 just wanna say, you guys are the reason I now LOVE snakes and reptiles in general. I grew up in texas where everyone thinks snakes are aggressive and extremely dangerous but you guys changed my perspective!! Thank you so much for that ❤ hognoses are also my favorites 😅, ill be getting a fat tail gecko in a few weeks an eventually get a good beginners snake an once I've gotten the hang of properly caring for snakes an giving them the best possible life, i hope to get am albino conda. Love you guys 🖤💜
It’s so fun to see that mitosis’s pattern continues in in her babies
Who agrees that Ed and Emily work so hard on these videos so hard and that try to make Sure we can see the babies and the snakes
Zoo idea: put more recycling bins than trash bins so that way if someone needs to throw something away, if it’s recyclable they’ll recycle it.
Hello I’m the 12 like Emily I watch you since I was like 7 and I am currently 11 and I love watching your videos I learned so much and enjoy it you guys taught me all the morphs of mostly hognoses but I like them and I’m saying hi from Scotland but I would really like you to see this comment hope you more baby’s and good morphs bye bye 😊

Question: can a single clutch of snake eggs have multiple dads like cats or is it good to assume just one father?
As always, super great video! Yay Babies!
They can they've had it happen before but they usually assume it's one unless the genetic are wack
The superconda looks like a little breakfast sausage. Somebody name him Sausage.
I'm squealing over the supper. Finally talked my hubby into a cornsnake for this year. Going to try to talk him into hognoses next year.
Thanks for the snake! I bought won from a couple years ago and forgot to tell you. She great!
emily "oh, it matters." ED is safe lmaoo
Babies!! Baby hoggies are my favourite! Much dramatic, very deaded 🤣
Can I just say that it is so good that you didn't try to make him play dead again for the camera, as freaking adorable (and hilarious) it is for us it's good to remember that for that little baby it's a life or death situation so very stressful for him. If he does it himself that's one thing but I really don't like it when people try to make their hoggies play dead (as much as I love to see it because it's hilarious and so cute). So thank you for not doing that! 😂
i really love baby snake vidieos they never get dull even after all the years ive watched (at least 8)
I recently heard someone refer to hognose snakes as "drama ramen". I approve.
What a cheeky super condor 😊
Ed: size doesn't matter emily
Emily: oh yes it does🤭
Watching you has made me fall in love with hognose snakes, id love to own one someday!
I once found a ribbon snake whos tail was literally 1/3 of it's length and It was impressive honestly. speaking of long tailed snakes
I really needed to see some adorable baby hognoses in a time were dont get see such cute baby snakes !
Baaabies! 🥰
I would love to see more with the variable kings.😍 Like an info-video of some sort.
so glad you’re keeping that conda she’s so pretty!!
They're so cute.. probably my favourite babies
Been waiting for this hatching ❤ such beautiful babies 🥰
Okay; dramatic baby needs to be on a shirt with the saying " dramatic like a hog nose" and I will buy 5. I work with some dramatic people.😂😂😂
I feel you Emily I love hognoises .HOGS ARE THE BEST!!!!
