April 21, 1958: Mac Poor interviews George Champion about piloting the last rotary snowplow through the Alpine Tunnel between December 31, 1909 and January 4, 1910.
Wow that's a gem of a recording. I actually have two signed copies of the DSP&P book by Poor and the later supplement. Amazing to hear his voice and the voice of the C&S plow operator for the last run over Alpine.
This was a simply amazing find. Thank you so much for sharing this. I have loved the Alpine Tunnel since I was a boy and hearing stories on recording of those who ran trains over the pass is priceless. It was also wonderful to hear Mr. Poor's voice for the first time.

Thank s for Sharing this interview of two giants of DSP&P history. Would have loved to know what engines were used.
Wonderful story and recording. Many times, while listening, I imagined myself on that last trip!
