I didn't appreciate what a great(and enjoyable) poet Louis MacNeice was until I came across these three parts of "Autumn Journal". I don't really like poetry recitations, which are often insipid, or simply embarrassing. This is of a different order, full of colour and vigour. The speaker's empathy with the work and his obvious pleasure in the verse could make you think he is the poet, not MacNiece. Also, the voice is mesmeric. I found this on UA-cam in August 2020 and have been looking for other readings by Colin Morgan. There is very little. I hope there will be more in the future. I wonder what he would do with the War Poets, or Shakespeare.

He was in Shakespeare's The Tempest at the globe theater and it is available to watch online. He is amazing in it!
