    Hi Tim,
    Loving your channel.
The A520 modulator outputted RF from the rear socket. The sockets on the side were a colour composite output and the audio input so the sound came out the TV via RF. It came with a Y splitter cable to plug into the L and R audio outputs and into the modulator.
As for the capacitor, there were some boards released where the caps around the audio ports were fitted backwards at the factory and given that they were polarity marked they did tend to pop.

I've got an A520 that came bundled with something else. My LCDTV has an RF in, so it should work - might be interesting to play with.
The capacitor was across the 12v supply to the floppy drive. Don't think it was related to the audio circuit. I do kinda wish I'd seen it pop though!

@@TimsRetroCorner Gotta love the smell of popped caps.
The caps were across the 12v supply like you found. The location of them depending on the board revision we're around the audio sockets between the CIAS. Used to repair Amigas for a Scottish electrical retailer in the late 80s early 90s. Keep up the great work. I subbed.

Big lesson here to be learned for all potential amiga purchases on ebay.."the power light comes on"..doesn't cut the mustard.
