      Agree. This plucking of talent from emerging nations is what kills international Rugby.

      If he was this good and playing for Germany you wouldn’t even hear about him. Do you think Michael Schumacher should have driven for German manufactures like Audi and BMW.
      Just like this situation you know Michael Schumacher because he raced an Italian “Formula One” Red Ferrari.

    Lot of talk about the ‘USA being the sleeping giant’ of the world rugby, but the more I see of European rugby, the more I think they might be the sleeping giants the likes of Spain, Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and Georgia are already ranked ahead of Italy who are in the Six Nations … often with big muscular guys who have the right genetics to the work upfront, and the skill level not too bad either, though the rugby nous is ‘work on’.

    • @motomax_99
      @motomax_99 2 роки тому +1

      Um correction, only Georgia are ranked ahead of Italy. Georgia 12th, Italy 14th, Spain 15th, Portugal 20th, Netherlands 26th, Belgium 27th, Germany 31st.
      Also just to add, the reason Italy is below Georgia in the rankings is because Italy constantly plays against better tier 1 nations and with that lose quite often whereas Georgia primarily plays against worse than them tier 2 nations so they win a lot and with that gain points in the ranking. In the last 3 games of Italy v Georgia, the Georgians won once, that's over a decade ago and in one of the two games that Italy won it was literally listed as Italy B vs Georgia. Italy isn't a bad side at all, they just have to face off against way better sides than them and Georgia doesn't.
