    Oh Doug! I literally gasped when that fell back on you. Thank God you’re ok, that you didn’t fall forward
    I know you’ve heard it a zillion times, but I’m a nurse & cant help it. Plus immunizations were my specialty. Make sure you’re current on your Tetanus shot. The rule is, we all need one every 10 years & at 5 years if you have a injury. I live in a farming community & made sure all farmers & ranchers got one every 5 years. Since we’re farmers I know that we get a boo boo almost everyday 😊

    Have done 3 new roofs on our house in Michigan always have done a complete tear off because the weight load is so heavy along with any snow load. There should be a walk in prompt care somewhere near so you can bop in and get a tetanus shot. Nothing to take a chance on

    I kept dreading the part about "Mobile Home Roof Tear Off Goes Wrong!" And then I saw it! Ouch!!! That was bad enough, but it could have been worse. You are a TROOPER! Hope you got some iodine or some type of disinfectant on that puncture wound. You've come along so well. Doug, I really feel for ya! I know you're young and all, but after this roof job is completed, you are going to need a full spa treatment my man! I'm sure you back hurts, your neck hurts, your head hurts - Ashley, take care of your man. He is one in several million; a rarity among men. And he is thankful and grateful to have you as his helpmate. You guys are so fortunate to have each other. Take care, as always. Hopefully, the rest of this re-roofing job goes without incident! 🌈😇🤞👍💯🌈

I'm not one for shots, but I'm also not one for infections. Make sure you have plenty of antibacterial supplies (Hydrogen peroxide as well as neomycin ointment...If you can get benzoin tincture, that stuff is amazing for cuts and blisters). You all are so close to the finish line, any kind of injury or infection is the LAST thing you need or want.

      Yeah, my head is going good! There were actually two nests of bumble bees in the insulation (that's why you don't leave your soffits open I guess). We had to kick them out, and they weren't happy. We got stung a few times, but made it through :)

    I hope your tetanus shot is up to date Doug. Looked like a manageable wound to take care of at home, but I know the nails may be rusty. Just looking out for you. Take care!

    Ouch I'll bet that did hurt. Tetanus up to date I hope...those old nails were a bit rusty looking. I take it you're sure it is not going to rain. You believe the weatherman more than I do. hahaha'
    Looking forward to the next step. Y'all have a Blessed day.

    Curious how you handled the hornets or whatever was buzzing in the roof. And I hope you’ve had a tetanus shot recently enough because of the nail that got your scalp. Kudos on not letting an expletive out during that! I don’t think I would’ve been able to stay silent.

      It was bumble bees, they had a nest and we removed it (we both got stung, haha), but eventually they moved on and left.

    OMG, I was so scared when you ripped off the pieces trying to keep your balance ..... remember that I told you to be more careful .... you have a family with 2 kids ..... hope your head is feeling better and all the best for the second half; by the time of the video you passed the halfway mark of your re-roofing or roof replacement project. ;-)))

      Ashley is part of it, he always says we. She is quieter in nature then Doug. My house I am like Doug and my husband is like Ashley. I get told that too. They have great respect for reach other you can tell.

      Lee M I’ve been watching them since they started and I know Ashley is quieter. she used to be more outspoken in the earlier videos. I know she has a love for nature and animals, I just want to know more and hear more about her. They both intrigue me with how good and knowledgeable they are about loads of different things. Great and helpful people that I’d love to have in my own life to be quite honest.

    I love the color of the shingles. Looks awesome! I'm curious how you get rid of all the stray nails around your house. Do you walk around with a magnet? I stepped on a nail once and it's not fun!

    • @diyfferent
      @diyfferent  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks! Most of the nails stay attached to the shingles and plywood. We just eye scan the ground to look for rogue nails. :)
