Sweet paint job. You make things look effortless, but I know that is lots of experience in action. Thanks again for the tips.

Thank you for passing your experiences of many years on to many people around the world. To be able to get that look on a canvasback would have taken me years without your guidance. Thanks again TC.

Thank you! This series was great and brought back so many memories of when I used to carve cork gunners 30 years ago. I've enjoyed this immensely.

Thanks again Tom for sharing your knowledge! Your style of carving and teaching is really easy to follow, and has taken much of the guesswork and experimenting out of my work. It is allowing me to complete a project in half of the time it used to take me, with better results. Take care!

It's a joy to watch a true master turn his craft. I honestly don't know which step I enjoyed more... probably the painting as it really brought life to the decoy. Just wondering Mr Christie, do you still hunt over your own decoys and do you sell rigs for hunting?

Thanks very much Kyle. I appreciate it. The first decoys I made were a rig of goldeneyes and I hunted over them for many years. I normally don’t do many gunners but wanted to do one for the channel to encourage people to try their hand at carving them. I focus most of my carving time these days on the more decorative decoys.

I love this session, Tom. What does an air brush and fume vacuum / eliminator cost?

Thanks very much. I use an Iwata CR Revolution airbrush. You would also need a compressor, hoses, etc. Total system is around $350. My spray booth is old and not sure they even sell it any more. if you look on Amazon there are many options available in $100-$150 range. Hope that helps.
