Hi Griff... customer of your lessons here... great overview... one of my legs is short. I will have to get to work on complete solos... you must be a mind reader. Thanks !

Griff - This was a great video - particularly helpful to me because I play flute. So everything you said is exactly relevant to me, and super helpful. I know some minor pentatonics and some major ones, regular major scales, but I am short on licks, and I haven't really put in the time to memorize the solos which I do love practicing. So thanks for my new to do list. I'll listen to Clapton and BB King, and play along until I get some of these licks under my fingers. And I'll memorize the solos (these are mainly sax solos by Scott Henderson when he plays with Joan Chamorro - and some short pieces like the sax solo in NY State of Mind. Again, thanks for your teachings. I like the blues turnarounds too that you've shared. - Mike

Another application of learning a complete solo is that you can transpose it over another song, in another key, another rhythm. Turns it into a different thing, but moving through it gives you a form to hang onto.

Framingham... I went to Framingham North High School in '86-88 and taught at Liberty Music there on Elm. I think George still owns the place.

People take their own time to produce and post videos for FREE... and what do they get??? It's too fast, it's too slow, you talk too much, you don't explain enough, your guitar is too distorted, your guitar isn't distorted enough, your action's too high, your action's too low, you always try to sell me stuff, you part your hair on the wrong side. Sadly, the people that post this crap wouldn't give five seconds of their OWN time to teach anyone anything. Haters got's to hate. Me... I love having something new to watch and try out on my guitar while I'm stuck here inside :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) (I know... somebody will bitch because I used too many smilie faces).
