    I own one and it is not very impressive. I took my concerns to the customer service department and they proceed to tell me it was supposed to have a 1/8 gap between some of the blades because they warp in the heat treating process. Hmm I peened them straight and shimmed the sickle and knife. Then it cut much better.

      Thanks for the reply and information, I had the same response from support. My teeth keep getting bent, every use I beat and grind flat.
      I'll take a look at mine this spring and post more videos.

    Are happy with the purchase? Was thinking of buying one. Looks like it was have trouble getting through some small stuff.

      On the website it says 1.5 inch stuff, no way. I have a 1025r that normally runs at 3.5 gallons per minute. I added the Hydrosplus kit and am around 9 GPM. It works better at higher RPM but the cutter teeth get bent and stops it from oscillating. Bang it forward and backwards with hydraulic a few times and it will break loose. I use a wheelchair for mobility so didn't have too many options for getting up higher. If you buy order some extra teeth/sections they are not standard AG teeth. Overall I would buy again but not cheap and some replacement parts are expensive, look at plastic or nylon bushings. The Fall would be a better time, the side hill shot there is lots of thicker stuff down low. I have other videos where I'm being more aggressive with RPM. Tractor is at dealer getting warranty work then I'll bump PSI from stock 2,100 to 2,400 and run it it higher RPM or GPM which should help. A stock 1025r would need to be at PTO / max RPM

      Guess this was the video where I was a little more aggressive. Think if all sections had all the teeth if would cut better. I had tried to keep the GPM lower as I heard you can break the cam attached to hydraulic motor. Anytime I should be able to see the limbs as the leaves are falling. I go much slower as I run the bucket, cutter and forward/backwards all by hand

    So it looks like you have that hooked to your third function. Did the hydraulic hoses come with it? is your third function just a diverter where you mash the button on the joy stick to operate the cutter?

    • @willie0001
      @willie0001  Рік тому +1

      It is hooked to a 3rd function kit so it has to be held with your thumb (john deere stock switch). The hoses did not come and they use two different hydraulic pumps so depending on which one you get the fittings could be different. I had the dealer make them to length with the JD quick couplers ot was close to $250 for 6 foot hoses, wanted plenty of length since I got deluxe mount that let's you swing the blade all over

    Can this burn up your 3rd function if you keep holding the button ? Can you plumb this to auxiliary hydraulics?

      I've held it for long periods without issues, the 1025r has a hydraulic cooler unlike many other sub compacts. Hydrosplus is making a switch for stock JD 3rd function so you can click on to leave on as well as a rear remote connection. Kevin at Hydrosplus has done a lot with hydraulics for these machines

      Only thing I can see problems with would be hitting larger branches which will bent teeth on the cutter pieces. The blade can get stuck then you need to file or bend teeth or replace sections. If you did in spring when you can see the limbs that would help. You need lots of flow, 9gpm and at least 2,100 psi to run it

      @@willie0001 mine has done the same thing bending the blades it"s pretty frustrating any ideas on a remedy for this? even if I take my time it still happens.

      @@anthonymorrison2167 I called them and the reply was they have two options. Teeth / sections with different size, one to pull in lighter stuff and the type I have that are more cutting and less pulling stuff in. So it looks like I have the best for what I'm doing but can't go an hour without the trimmer locking up, sometimes I can just hammer it back and forth until it moves again other times it's to the shop to fix. Wish they were generic sections as they are not cheap to replace. Kind of frustrated, didn't even use this spring, might try yet this summer.

      @@willie0001 I know the feeling this thing wasn"t cheap and it"s ok when it works right but it seems like you have to fool with it alot. the first time I used mine I bent it and had to straighten it out and welded a piece of angle on it to sturdy it up. but it turns out the blades aren"t bent on mine used it this morning and discovered a stick jammed in between them spreading them all apart making them look bent but still this thing could stand to be a little sturdier mine doesn"t seem to jam up alot though I"m not sure whats gone on with yours let me know what you do with it talk to you later.

      @@anthonymorrison2167 I'm like you, had to d!ck with it to get it to work. Cutting smaller stuff is nice and I just keep it light. For the money should be able to do neighbors and other stuff. I'm afraid it's a use once work on tool. I use a putty knife, slide it between the teeth at the bottom then slide it up. Always get leafs and crap as well as find any bent teeth

    Looks terrible, I would hate to pay that much for a cutter just to see it fail to cut, or lock up hitting something well within its specs to cut, but just won't do it. I wouldn't buy one of these
