Yeah... avoid any PAL A330s with the C876X or -C877 registrations. These run the higher density configuration. The -C88X registered A330s in PAL's fleet run the tri-class configuration, including IFE in economy and the more generous 2-4-2 configuration. I flew with PAL twice in the tri-class A330s in economy (Sydney-Manila and Manila-Melbourne) and it was honestly pretty good.
@@sham2125 you mean RP-C8780-8789 fleet. An even better version of them are 5 star rated Skytrax CX B-HLx B-LBx B-LAx former KA B-HYx B-HWx and Eva Air A330-303s followed by the south Koreans. Try asking Taiwanese Hong kongers and South Koreans between RP-C8780-8789 fleet or the 5 star rated fleets of CX🇭🇰/BR🇹🇼 KE/OZ🇰🇷 those will always gravitate towards the five star carriers because they know that PR is behind their Five star rated Airlines
You could never tell if the A330 you're flying on is the high-density one or the tri-class configuration, and it's important to always check the seat map before flying. PAL is notorious for last-minute equipment swaps.
@lnnthl you are correct and they can also do this on Manila to Japan Routes substituting RP-C9901-9929 fleet for RP-C9930-RP-C9938 fleet. Same is also said for PR126/118 RP-C3501-RP-C3508 fleet being substituted out for B777-3F6/ER RP-C7772-7775 RP-C7778-7782 fleet. Example for is April 18th 2023 end up flying and landing at the same time as a Japanese JA784A-796A fleet NH109/110.
I think PAL all a330 has no IFE. I have also a video when i was going home last 2022 with PAL a330_300 and uploaded it and thats an issue for me. One more thing is a small leg room on economy class. I found it hard to eat during the flight because of very small space.
In the next 2 to 3 years, PAL will be replacing these A330-300s. I think they will seriously consider the NEO version since it won't be a problem for their pilots to adjust to the new aircraft. I do hope they will consider IFE and more leg room.

It’s actually the RP-C878X that has the tri-class

If you want a better choice between Manila & Taipei take the Taiwanese Airlines BR/CI.
Taipei Is Also Chevady And Dommie’s Home
I’ve flown in more than 20 Airbus A330 aircraft, I never knew some have the high density seating, that’s horrible.

Not all of their A330s. They have the tri-class A330 which has the same ambiance of their A350s and all seats are equipped with IFEs.
If you fly economy, dont expect premium amenities.
Actually, There are some of PAL's A330s that have IFE, I've previously flown it on the Manila to Honolulu route and the seats were superb!

I hope so too
does it have USB port atleast?
Unfortunately no
Nice video!
