Thank you:)
That's quite a range going from basic school algebra to topology :)
The first book feels so comfortable
yes, comfortable, finite amount of information makes this books special and adorable for studs of all ages ))
Agree with the more math you do the smarter you get. There is a little book called Math For Standardized Tests. I used to work through it about once a year and it seemed like my thinking was more clear and logical each time I worked through it.
Pre-Algebra and Topology on the same stack is shocking :)
I know right LOL!!

I have a masters degree in engineering, but I'm still considering buying the Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1 book. It just looks so nice, I want to find a blanket and enjoy reading it on a chilly fall morning.
In singapore theres a bookshelf near the Mcdonalds. I found a Pre-Calculus book , Algebra book and many more over there. Simply put Mcdonalds has educated me
McDonald's University grads going crazy
@@barskaracadag3923 I will🤓
I’m a big fan of learning math from inexpensive sources including free/open source online materials. Thanks for making this vid. Dover doesn’t get the credit it deserves for making advanced math more accessible.
I started out being really good at math, but thanks to one terrible teacher in grade 8 ( around the time we started algebra) I ended up hating it for years....until I came across your videos. I started with the pre algebra book you recommended and I'm starting to build everything back up...and I'm actually having fun doing it. Thanks for making math enjoyable for me again! 🤘
Same here
I use the OpenStax series though
I'm slowly working through prealgebra and algebra, but already have the calculus and the differential equations books on the shelf, 4 hardcover textbooks with their respective solutions manuals for less than $50.
Have you done a collection of books covering basic to Advanced stuff specifically which have answers in the back?
I have not, that's a good idea!
What I wouldn't give for a list of math books that have all the answers in the back...
Thanks for the video.
Used textbooks in math and physics can be a treasure trove, especially Saxon math textbooks. Plus, once you finish there is a lively market for reselling them since they are popular with serious homeschoolers.
McMullen's books are great - I have the algebra II book, great for review.
That book looks great!!!
The day-glo magenta book is probably responsible for me, now, being able to put two English language words together in the same sentence and actually mean it. Even if it's just a little.
The words are 'maths' and 'enjoy'
Can't say I 'love' maths yet. But I do get to smile at the satisfaction of factorising a quadratic by completing the square, or completing a system of equations. Although we call them 'simultaneous equations' here in the UK.
Dettman is a great read: the first part covers the geometry/topology of the complex plane from a Mathematician's perspective, and the second part covers application of complex analysis to differential equations and integral transformations, etc. from a Physicist's perspective. I've used Smith Charts (RF/microwave engineering) for years, but learned from Dettman that the "Smith Chart" is an instance of a Möbius Transformation.
For practical reasons, a typical "Math Methods for Physics & Engineering" course introduces the Cauchy-Riemann Conditions, Conformal Mapping, Contour Integrals and applications of the Residue Theorem, but has to omit a lot interesting details, that Dettman fills-in.
The Schaum's Outline on "Complex Variables" is a great companion book for more problems/solutions and content.
The Everything book is really great! Made me think could a book of this kind get any better!
Even though the book of proof is free, l still bought a hardcopy a few years ago after hearing you mention it in an older video. It's very clear and well organized. A great introduction to proof writing. Definitely worth the purchase.
Im starting my journey into this subject and I have those first 3 books :)
Yo,I got a b+ in precalc while studying for CS. I am ordering the Algebra and Calac book to get better grades. Thanks for your help!
You won me over when you smelled the algebra book. I do that EVERY time.
Sorcerer, you are tempting me to confront my fear of math by picking up a goddamn pre-algebra book and start learning it all from scratch and never stop until I've mastered at least calculus.
One day, I aspire to be a father who will help his kid solving his math homework. 😅
Me too, I have to start at pre-algebra too since I have forgotten so much. I already ordered 3 books and 2 workbooks
@@gabys2 godspeed brother, one day your comment will be here as a testimonial of how willpower and consistency can defeat our fear of math 🤝
One of my favorite books to do problems from is Kreysig. Also from undergrad. mathematical physics (Boas or Riley). I dont have the backround to do graduate Mathematical Physics. Do you have others survey books that you can recommend for self study and enjoyment?
And actually "Topology without Tears" is free as well
Can you take a look at "physical chemistry, a molecular approach" by Mcquarrie. It's obviously a physical chemistry book, but more importantly, it contains group theory, matrices, and other math that I wouldn't expect at the undergrad chem level
Curious thing, looking up the Pre-Algebra book here on Amazon UK, and it says there are errors in the answers it gives?
Never apologize for taking a smell. Never!!!
what are good books in statistics that gives you a clear understanding, if you can tell best statistics book with beautiful problems I will be indebted
That prealgebra and algebra 1 in one little notebook has a good few errors in it
Do the same with expensive books lol
He has plenty of those!
All your book presentations are super interesting, but all your books are missing exactly what a person always wanted to know, namely why the proofs work within propositional logic ? As far as I know, only one book answers this question sufficiently...... Have a nice day, Professor .
Sound is off. Liked the audio in the past better
I misread the title as meth. Please send bail.
Munkres was my biggest waste of time and money in maths. It requires a very thorough knowledge of advanced maths.
It’s really impossible to increase my IQ score because I have high functioning autism
