Qui gon was right. In the end, anakin destroys the sith, being the emperor and himself, and brings balance to the force. Before the dark times, before disney
The "rat tail" of Obi Wan shows that he is a padawan learner, an apprentice, not a Jedi Knight yet. The final fight, sounding "Duel of the fates", it´s one of the best in the franchise for me. Legendary.
Anya is So. Adorably. Distracting. What a pretty baaaaaby!!! 😍😍😍 It's nice to watch these with someone who can be stirred emotionally, and is unafraid to show it
It's so trippy when a movie is shown backwards in reactions. Especially when the reactor says "guy on left" and "guy on right" and they are reversed for us. When the queen is captured it's her decoy in the royal robes. They then switch back and forth but Padme is usually not in the robes. She is in them when Anakin goes to tell Padme that he is going to the Jedi 8:53 Tattooine is where Anakin was born, Luke grew up, and where the Hutts were based from ruling the outer rim. It's sad that people don't share your opinion of the actor who plays Anakin here, he was hated, him and the actor that plays Binks were ridiculed for over a decade and it harmed his mental health severely.
Some shots are regular, some are backwards throughout. The final moments of Qui-Gon fighting are backwards frames, but Maul's death stab is regular, for example. It's distracting when you've seen the scenes a million times and it throws you off.
Anakin does bring balance to The Force in Return of the Jedi, he destroys the Sith by killing of The Emperor/Darth Sidious and pushing away Vader from him (and he also dies in the process), so he is The Chosen One.
@mjj29 That's NOT what Lucas means about The Balance if The Force, it's NOT about the equality of Light and Dark, fool! Darth Sidious threw the Force out of balance with his evil and with the Sith gone the balance is restored. Man, people take the word balance too literally!
@michaelmacias8 She has already seen Return of the Jedi, so she knows what's going to happen, as we all do when watching the Star Wars franchise in release order.
Natalie Portman played Queen Padme Amidala and Keira Knightley played her decoy. Both were quite young here, but Natalie, at this time, was more known as actress.
The reason Anakin is consindered too old for becoming a Jedi is because normally force sensitive kids leave their parents when they're toddlers, before they create attachments to them. Jedi in the Old Republic aren't suppoused to have attachments because that could potentially lead to The Dark Side (as you will see in the two upcoming movies, ESPECIALLY the third one).
Everyone? There are those in the "fandom" that gripe if somehow the movie doesn't do exactly what they desire they will cry and gripe incessantly... Real SW fans enjoy the movies.. as they say pobodys nerfect ... The movies aren't but they are enjoyable and fun yes even the sequels 😉
Fun fact: Padmé (Natalie Portman) *is actually 14* years old in this movie. Sabé (Keira Knightley), her favorite lookalike decoy, is also around that age. Meanwhile Anakin, at this time, *is 9* years old.
As you say, many people don't like prequels. I personally find that they give a good backstory of what was George Lucas universe before it became the Empire. For your question at the start, episodes 1-2-3 tells you how Anakin became Vader, and the story of the Emperor too, so you don't need to watch more than the 3 prequels. About Anakin's dad, I can't answer directly without spoiling your experience, so I 'll only tell you this: episode 3, conversation between Anakin & the chancellor at the space opera (you'll know what I mean when you'll see it), pay attention to the entire conversation, there are clues there on his dad and about other things. Have a nice day.
Great reaction :) At this point, there is no empire or emperor. I'll also point out that a Jedi died here, but did not become a force ghost, as we saw in the original trilogy. What I really like is that episodes 1 through 6 were all under the control of the creator and artist, George Lucas. That rarely happens in the movie industry.
*One of my favorite Qui-Gon Jinn lines in this movie is:* *"The ability to speak does not make you intelligent" (So useable for so many people in real life.)* *FUN FACT:* *Natalie Portman & Kiera Knightley (Yes, I said Keira Knightley) were so identical in full Queen Amidala wardrobe & makeup that their own mothers couldn't tell them apart.*
You can hear Jar Jar at the end of Episode VI Return Of The Jedi at the end when all the planets are celebrating. When they show the Naboo planet celebrating you can hear Jar Jar say “We sa free!!!”
From this movie, Nintendo 64 released a great racing videogame named: "Star Wars Episode I: Racer", in the early 2000s. It had multiplayer mode and it was so entertaining.
When this film was first released, Jar Jar was mostly hated by the fandom. However, after the releases of Episodes II & III and The Clone Wars TV Series, a lot more people warmed up towards as Jar Jar had many moments where he shined and was heroic. The same could be said for Mace Windu but in reverse. After watching Episodes II & III and The Clone Wars, a lot of fans saw how Mace would be extremely arrogant, make stupid decisions and thinks he’s smarter than he actually is.
For a certain generation, this was their introduction to Star Wars. They saw this in theaters as kids and they'll always love these prequel movies. I'm not too crazy about them myself. I can't stand Jarjar Binks.
1. Of the prequels I like this one the best mostly for the POD race and the underwater sequences, 2. Jar Jar is mostly comic relief since we don't have C3PO 3. Liam Neeson was very busy with various productions at the time and was in huge demand and agreed to do this episode because Qui-Gon Jinn dies, and he won't be held to do more. 4. Devine conception? 5. It's easy to know why this one didn't start the series because of the lack of CGI back in 1977.
@@CodyCompton-u1tWell, The Force Awakens was included among the "1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die" (the latest edition includes more than 1200 titles). Interesting fact: No other Star Wars film except the 3 originals is in the list. 🤔
@@michaelmacias8 What universe are you living in? Yes, The Force Awakens is good, even very good, but it's also just a repeat of A New Hope. The other two, however, especially The Last Jedi, are absolutely terrible. Great to look at, but what they do to Luke's character, let alone how they dump on Anikan's self-sacrifice in The Return of the Jedi (the perfect character and story arc), are inexcusable, let alone a storyline that makes zero sense. I wanted so much to like them as I liked the character of Rey, but boy was I wrong. They will never ever be remembered in the same way as the originals, or even the prequels (with its forgivable minor flaws).
@ like I said they have their pros and their cons. First of all, they should’ve have existed in the first place. The first one was decent, but yeah, it was basically a new hope 2. Last Jedi was my favorite because it was different to say the least. While fans were speculating what famous Star Wars character was Rey going to be related to, the last Jedi gave us a more realistic answer. But I did not like Mary Poppins Leia. As for the last one it had some great stuff in it but the fact it tries to fix what the last Jedi did to please the fans and ended up falling on their faces. There’s a lot I can say but I’ll just leave it at that.
