I often wonder what it would've been like if Maul hadn't been cut in half and still served as Sidious' apprentice. Could make for an interesting what-if story.

Funny how Maul was so close to understanding the larger plan with Plagueis and Sidious. The whole invasion of Naboo and installing of Padme as queen being a plan to get Palpatine elected as Chancellor. That he was in the end but a pawn. Never a true Sith and yet in the end, fell victim to the same vices that clouded his actions on Tatooine.

I have the book with this story but this was something else & perfect timing for the re-release of The Phantom Menace 25th anniversary in theaters which I'll be seeing again in a couple days time! While this is technically legends I think we can all agree that it's canon, for now at least.

I quite like this. I haven't read the short story but I'm somewhat familiar with Luceno's Star Wars books, or at least, a few of them.
I do understand the limitations of the software you're obviously using, along with the fact you're clearly more focused on audio than the minor visual details. However, I would like to suggest reaching out to someone skilled in sfm or blender animation. Mostly due to the fact that, with better animation, this would be an exceptional plot-line to edit into The Phantom Menace. Beyond that minor animation whine, this is exceptional. Great job. Voice actors are all incredible.
Finally unlike clone wars or rebels , you depicted how powerful , sinister , intelligent and maniacal maul is . He was definitely the most intelligent sith in his era behind sidious

What a stunning ‘TIE’ model, although a stealth black paint scheme with red (red? I’m colorblind, so I assume Maul’s face is red and black) highlights would be some wicked personalization. Not criticizing you, was just surprised at how it was portrayed in TPM - just a standard transport. But I suppose Vader needs his assassin to keep a low profile, especially if Darth Maul is supposed to be hidden from Sidious.
Still, a great looking craft. Your voice was pretty awesome, and you really nailed the Dark induced crazy. Maul is obviously really intense, driven, and perhaps psychopathic, and getting insight into his thoughts really draws me into his character.

But productions like Endgame or The Truce at Bakura (Revitalized) series are adaptations of legends material. They can fit together due to the time gap between the sequels and post-Endor eras, but their premises are different.

Darth Sidious would have made all the arrangements with Nute Gunray about having Darth Maul oversee their operation and serve as an enforcer to intercept the meddlesome Jedi... most of the first half of the story trying to "explain" is just so stupid and dumb like Sith Lords were not supposed to be yapping all over the place... that is TRUE Sith Lords... not some crippled half man half robot like Vader and delusional Darth Tyranus who was also mostly a fallen good guy turned bad through Sith treachery and trickery.
There is no need to have Darth Maul be explained... Sith Lords were supposed to be super secretive in George Lucas's Phantom Menace... while we are the viewer and we know Sidious is Palpatine, he is hiding in plain sight because he was not supposed to yap about himself and because it was practically impossible for Darth Sidious to set a trap where Darth Maul could fight the Jedi Council members... or more than two Jedi at a time... even if you saw RotS Sidious take down three Jedi that only happened due to a surprise attack.. because the Jedi are not cold blooded killers, they are not assassins or even "warriors" they are supposed to mediate conflicts and use force as a last resort or where there is no other option so even taking out the light sabers, even for Sith is rather redundant... they would not need to show off or constantly light up their sabers just to show some fancy spinning move... the Sith pull their light sabers to kill and the Jedi as a warning to stop conflict... it was that clear in Phantom Menace.
Also and this may hurt yalls feelings but there was no need for Darth Maul to keep talking too much... yes he is a Sith Lord, yes he will aspire to ascend to become the Sith Master if he can betray and kill his master at a golden opportunity but there was no need to yap in front of Jedi cause he was an assassin and also a mystery... yapping too much would just make it obvious that he IS or was a true SITH and in that case when it is obvious that he was a SITH then the Jedi council would not waste their time trying to capture him if it was too difficult cause they would switch stance to kill the Sith because they are too dangerous to be left alive.
Too much yapping and useless light saber shows only dumbs down Star Wars into some weak type of cartoon... remember even Star Wars Clone Wars CGi animated series was serious enough to have character deaths which evolve the animated series beyond some dumb kid's cartoon or some Mickey Mouse show.
Your paragraph was all yapping just to say Maul spoke too much but you should realize that all the 'yapping' Maul does is actually self reflection in his mind and not actually him talking. If you have not seen the Clone Wars, Maul is very intelligent and outspoken, albeit even Shakespearan at times so this is just a transition from that. I am sorry if its too big brained for you.
Thats not 'Yapping', it is Maul's own thoughts.
And Maul was the chief commander of the droid army, how do you expect him to lead the army without talking?
