  • Shelley tried 3 other lactation consultants for pumping help with no success before joining us inside the Pumping for Working Moms Program. She went from being an undersupplier to an oversupplier, from working to not working to working again, and through other major life transitions during the first year of her son's life.
Shelley also believes in this program so much, she's even offered to sponsor a member who can't afford to join us, we're so thankful for people like her! She put in so much hard work to meet her goals, and her husband was a huge support as well. We loved getting to know Shelley as we worked alongside her to pump fast and efficiently in a way that worked for her individually.

As a black woman of "advanced maternal age", 3 months pp, I really enjoyed this. I have benefited from Allison's content even as a SAHM. The most profound piece of advice you gave was to stop buying pumps and invest in help. You asked a question that really hit me and said why are you spending $200 on a pump, when you can invest that same $200 to get help with the pump you have and the problem may not even be the pump at all. That was such a psychological jolt and really changed my journey.

Miss Shelly. You are amazing. You deserve a hug. No. You deserve a statue; you deserve a monument. For some reason all around the world people make monuments of men on horseback because they were generals and kings who killed and conquered and destroyed. Big deal. Tearing something down is easy. But you, Miss Shelley, you helped create a precious life, you grew and nurtured that precious life, and you fed that precious life through great adversity, and now, you are generous enough to give the gift of yourself, your story, and your money to other women who are creating and nurturing life and treating it with dignity. You are exactly the kind of person who should be celebrated. YAY YOU!

Thanks for sharing. Shelley’s story reminds me so much of how much support we need in our breastfeeding journeys and finding the right support is key! Shelley, my heart goes out to you, it’s unfair how you were treated by the medical system.

I went through the exact same thing! This is my miracle baby!! My baby is 8 months old, and I just never could make enough milk and it was heart breaking that I give him mostly formula. I am so glad you were able to fix the problem and pay for her program. I couldt afford the program especially being a stay at home Mom that was going back to work. My husband and I tried to figure out how to pay for the program. He has been very supportive through this whole process. it just wasn’t possible no matter how much I wanted it! So heart breaking😢 but so happy for you!

Shelly darling, I don't know you, but GIRL, I enjoyed listening to you and your story. YOU ARE RESILIENT! Thank you for sharing the love forward and supporting another parent who may need this service, but the finances are not present. YOU ARE AMAZIN! Allison, you keep rocking this show. Thanks to your videos, I've been able to manage and support patients at the pediatric clinic for which I work. My next step is completing the Breast Pump Course. This course should be part of our IBCLC requirements!
