It’s a feat for Kel honestly. Through all the pain and depression, he was the first to get out of the loop and kept his positive and stubborn personality (Somewhat) intact. And, Somehow, through persistence and positivity. He got the group back together. Mari would be proud. ….That just makes the neutral ending much more sadder.

This is such a beautiful animatic, it illustrates his role in bringing the group together without downplaying his own grief and even has a sweet bonding moment between Kel and Mari (well, the white egret orchid anyway.) Even tho kel is really positive and persitant in helping his friends i cant help but feel that without them he must of felt really lonely. He no longer had his brother there all the time, mari died, sunny disappeared, basil distanced himself from everyone and Aubrey hated kel. Im sure he had friends but hes more just the "friends with everyone" guy then a "friend friend" to others outside his group. I feel like he probsbly was really lonley and thats one of the main reasons he was desprate to get the group back together other than his love for his friends
Sometimes you have to remember that Kel is a guy who gathered everyone together again.
I think it is a joint effort of both Sunny and Kel , but he definitelly deserves recognition .

Something I realized pretty recently is that in a way he’s kind of the replacement for Mari, being the glue that holds all of them together
