Just came back from a road trip to NYC. I hadn't been there in 50 plus years. What a dissapointment. Reaching the tool booths at the George washington Bridge I noticed they were the same ones from when I was a kid. Then, they were sparkling bright, NOW, the glass is yellow some cracked, the paint is covered with a thick layer of auto exhaust carbon. The once shiny chrome is dull and rusted. The roadway which is I-95, littered with potholes and lumps of asphault. The bridge itself looks properly maintained. Trash is everywhere. My once loved city, that I called home, looks like a 3rd world city. Embarrasing.
