    Your grandma looks like mine did, except I only saw her once and never cooked with her. Now my mom is that age and sounds like your popo, except she can't cook so I watch all these Chinese cooking videos and cook for her. And you remind me of my half-Chinese, half-white son, except I lost him a few years ago and never got to cook with him. Your video gives me strange comfort, like watching a multiverse version of what could have been. Thanks for making this and good luck with the channel.

    Just learned from porpor to cook chicken breast by this technique. Makes sense, the chicken breast won't over cook and it stays tender. Thank you porpor. 😊

      Thank you all the best to you and your family! You know I wish I was nicer to my grandma when I was younger. I did not appreciate her (she raised me). It was not until I got older that I started to appreciate her. She really loves cooking and it's a good way for us to connect. If their were no cooking videos, I would still want to cook with her for my self learning. (Of course we have not so easy days sometimes like everyone :).

    Yes, there's so many kinds different colors of curry containers from Vietnam for sell in the Chinese supermarkets, it doesn't look like the one you have in the video, and also they are not powder form, it's wet & thick, but I know what you're mean, maybe it changed their products of packaging it nowadays, and I will use it with po po's curry recipe ways to cook it, thank you Michael!!

    I can understand your grandma, get her to make you some nom yu (red bean curd) mon (braise), either gnou nam, (skirt steak with silver skin) or pai gut (spare ribs), with taro or lotus root.

    looked a bit chaotic,it was almost bordering on a psychedelic film like zardoz or something but at the end,i must admit,that meal looked delicious.in china,singapore,malaysia,people are taught to cook so well,many from an early age.just imagine if that happened everywhere!all those millions of tonnes of food which would be saved from being thrown out and wasted!

    Popo misses Singapore curry powder. Do you have a PO Box that I can send Popo? We still have the old style curry powder that Popo remembers. Easily get it from Little India in Singapore or from many wet markets in Singapore!

      @@MichaelNicastro my grandma loves to cook also, she was from fujian province china. Sadly she passed away 2 years ago. She was 92. Fortunately she was able to teach us how to make her recipes.

      @@MichaelNicastro what i know is Fujian is a province, and my grandma is from The town of Xiamen. The capital is fuzhou. Brw Xiamen is a coastal town, lots of seafoods. Ive been there twice, when we visited relatives. Yes, I am Filipino chinese. Where you from?

    India actually has no curry. Curry is a British concoction based on Indian spices. There's a word Kari from one of the Indian dialects.
