  • Google Maps in Data Studio are highly customizable and integrate with any data source that contains valid geo fields.
And most importantly People like map visualizations because they are easy to grasp, visually appealing, and entertaining.
Maps are widely used to highlight particular regions that are notably or specifically different from others regions, as well as it helps to demonstrate trends over numerous locations in a single piece of visualization.
And you should think and ask either yourself or you can ask me What is a Bubble Map ?
So let me tell you Bubble Map consists of dots displayed over a map with the size of the circle being proportional to its value in the dataset.
This simply means each circle on a Bubble Map are plotted based on its geo coordinates, which is known as latitude and longitude. The size of the dot represents the value of the chosen metrics; The higher the value, the bigger the circle is, and vice versa.
So the next question should be in your mind that How Bubble Map Works?
Bubble Map, or in general Google Maps chart, allows us to visualize location data in Google Maps and Based on Data Studio Documentation, each Google Maps chart consists of 2 layers:
background layer: displays Google Map interface
data layer: displays data as bubbles or filled areas, depending on the configuration.
In Data Studio, we have the luxury of controlling the presentation and appearance of the map charts, such as the color theme of the base map, size and color of the bubbles, and many more!

Hello, thank you for this excellent tutorial. Could you perhaps advise me on this situation: I have a bubble map, using the entire width of the report, and half a page. I am simply representing bubbles with number of user searches - country. When the map is viewed, it starts at the default zoomed-out view, and you see the continents repeating, which I don't want. In the edit mode, I zoom in by a factor of one, and then when I view the report, it shows the continents zoomed in by one, no repeating continents, slightly cropped at the top and the bottom, but that is ok. The problem is, when the reports run, or when you go out to the dashboard and come back in to the report, the default zoomed-out view is shown, and the continents are repeating. Is there any way to force my zoomed-in-by-one-factor setting in the report? Can the zoom be programmed somewhere (json), or can I specify a range of co-ordinates to force a specific area on the report? Many thanks

What if i want to customise the display detail when I pan over the bubble. For example i want the bubble detail to display “country code” instead of “country name” for it header(not inside tooltip). And can you share me the dataset for me to practice? Thank you very much sir
