OMG Dude ,,,What a great build ! You made every inch of this van a work of art and I'm super jealous. Im actually at a loss for words ! Which for me as my wife would say is amazing by its self ,Great job Mine Freind,,!! Germany ? I was there for 2 years and loved the country, I now live in West Virginia and fell in love with the state because it reminded me of Germany and the area so much ! Maybe, just maybe you'll do an all electric vehicle fit out. Tesla plan on building a Van based on CYBERTRUCK. I wait for my Day 1 reservation from 2019 for the CT Pick-up to take on road trips here in Oz.

what's the fuel consumption and what sort of highway speeds? are the low gears low enough off-road ? looks top! good on you
Low 20's MPG. Sits happily at 55 - 60 when it gets there. High and low range 4x4 make it very good off road - even better if you disconnect the sway bar

No, and it's almost impossible. After I moved the van back to the house I was in and out at all hours!
Genuine curiosity. Why did it take three years? Im watching it and and would love to know only bc learning is my hobby. I am bed ridden and can't do much so I indulge learning as a passtime. Tyia.
I'm a father of 2 and run my own consultancy so this was all done at weekends, after work or when I could grab a spare hour here and there in the day. It's amazing how long things can take to plan and then execute. Thanks for watching

An incredible project, it turned out great. The only complaint I have about the video is that you are driving with a dog loose in the passenger compartment... very dangerous for driving and for the animal itself.
Really? Thats all you could come up with ? Youd hate us as we drive a huge Class C With 3 dogs and ,,Well ,,They dont wear seat belts ,,lmao
@@stevenannett1739 In my country, it is completely prohibited to travel with loose animals, both for the safety of the driver and for the safety of the animals in the event of an accident. The penalties are quite large if you are traveling with a loose animal.

Why is everyone buying and converting these LTs lately?
They've always been in the limelight but maybe the VW scene has grown so much that they're getting their moment in the spotlight
@@CampervanMan they drive like tanks though and don’t fit into most parking spaces. I have a Toyota dyna and by no means is it large but even that’s a bit diffuse at times
Well I love how they drive actually and the 4x4 surprisingly was the nicest of all my LTs to drive. Also the Westfalia Florida on the MWB LT was shorter than our family estate/station wagon and just as easy to manoeuvre @@MrLukedanger

Really wanted to watch this but that noise overlay pinging in my head was just too awful to bear. I didn't even last 2 minutes. Please leave the original sound wherever you can as it is always preferable to someone else's music choice and be clear, I really don't think that was music. Maybe to a submariner.

Your a very talented designer & technician, but i have to agree with most the comments on the strange audio /music, it's frantic & manic, as close to the sound of having a total nervous/mental breakdown as i could imagine. I do hope you made a detailed schematic for this unit, While being cleverly complicated, in case anyone else has to work on this urban apartment on wheels a schematic would surely help, with so many optional convenience comforts made from fragile and failure prone plastic bits, just to go wild camping. For those people who are a bit more organically minded, being entombed is such a small capsule with interior clad with so much toxic PVC and adhesives, that alone would make my skin crawl, and make a canvas tent with a simple flap for ventilation a breath of fresh air.. But today i assume this is what modern minded people want in a "Overlander" vehicle desire.. 50 years ago i took a 1953 VW panel van with a long 5' sunroof and made a bubble top camper of it cutting the top/bonnet off another VW 23 window kombi van just below the window line and fitted it to the roof of the existing van, for standing up headroom and lots of windows above at eye level for light , Found a 75 year old 35' sailboat to recycle, removed the beautiful teak, oak and mahogany wood cabin and galley in sections from the boat and refitted it al into the VW van. I enjoy cooking and showering outdoors, so that eliminated the cramped & crowded feeling of having so walls and partitions in such a small space used in the van to accomidate those domestic features. with a slide out kitchen installed with the rear door & a solar shower tank mounted on the full length roof rack roof rack. The only problem was i found the Van was a bit overweight & underpowered with the 1953 36hp engine, so i raised & strengthened the original suspension alot and installed a 1961 Porsche super 90 engine with some basic performance mods. Lived in that Van for 6 years 50 years ago while traveling North America in that wooden Land Yacht. Such a different world and approach to life and living today. Much like the complicated & annoying music in this video. Again great talent for design and living in a technological dependant existence.
