    There's not a single team OU faces that they're incapable of beating. Does that mean they will win every game? Of course not. I do see 8 wins as the floor though

    Tell you how we feel, we're 110-48-8 all time against sec teams. Yes, we double digit sec teams. 130yrs, 47 straight wins, ncaa record, owned the big 12,carried it on our backs. 7 National Championships. Would of had more except for the TBOW.
    The hate has always been real. It's always been that way. From sec territory, make NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT, I'M SOONER NATION DNA! Been NATION since 1974. I think the disrespect is as wide as all outdoors. Tell ya'll what, don't worry, you got this, new OL,QB,OC,DC. IT'S JUST OKLAHOMA! THERE'S ONLY ONE!
    BE SEEING THE SEC REAL SOON, WE PROMISE!
    BOOMER SOONER 4 LIFE

      Congratulations to OU and TX on their history. No team in the SEC cares. Line up and get some and at the end of the season see what you have. No, the SEC teams and fans don't respect you. In fact, we don't respect those that have been in the conference either. Look at Alabama, everyone is saying they are done now that Saban is gone. You earn it week to week and season to season. Don't think you will get respect in this conference based on your past especially being newbies. Earn it on the field.

    Schedule is brutal but we should see 8 wins, imo. Potentially 9 if the ball bounces our way. The defense this year is going to shock a lot of people!

    If anyone is concerned about whether or not OU fans travel, go check the highlights from the 2017 OU vs. Ohio State game. It was mentioned multiple times in the game that the OU fans were in the upper deck, because their cheers didn't sound like they were coming from the upper deck. I have no doubt the OU fans will show up and show out. OU fans are also college football fans. We are very aware of the SEC.
    So I keep hearing about how hostile Jordan-Hare is, so I thought I'd dig in and do a little research. I looked at Auburn's record versus ranked opponents at Jordan-Hare from 2014-2023. They are 11-13. When you look at it from 2019-2023, they are 3-9 versus ranked opponents at home. Then I looked at Oklahoma versus ranked opponents on the road (I included RRR but not conference championships nor bowl games). From 2014-2023, OU is 13-6 versus ranked opponents on the road and from 2019-2023, they are 5-3 versus ranked opponents on the road. Just looking at those numbers, I think OU will be fine at Jordan-Hare. BV and crew will have them ready to play this game.

    Venables was the DC at OU for 11 years before he went to Clemson and he was building great defenses way back then too. Why does it seem like all these SEC commentators don't know anything about that?

    Helmet Comms will be a huge factor when it comes to hostile environments. Im sure it will still be difficult to play in, but having helmet comms will be super helpful for hostile environments. I think this is an overlooked factor when it comes to OU travelling to Auburn as the first SEC hostile environment.

    btw, Bama has played in 9 college championship games this century. Do you know who has been the DC in 8 college championship games more than anyone else winning 3 of the 8 at a school that didn't have the advantage of the sec and espn hype? Guess. Brent Venables. 4 at OU and 4 at Clemson championship games w/o the sec/espn hype winning 3 of them. OU will have the best D on the field against any team we play this year. From what I've heard in the rumor mill, D's win championships. More facts: OU's D is another major step better than last year. They have far more returning production than anyone else in the sec or p5 teams. We have the best wr room in football. We are playing a 2nd yr qb who was national gatorade player of the year; our excellent qb who is now at Oregon is a leading contender to win the Heisman this yr but we told him that if he came back to OU he'd be backing up our 2nd yr qb. We had no rbs except a walkon last yr until one got healthy half way through the year and he ended the year with 5 straight 100 yd games. This year we start with 5 very good rbs. Our OTs last yr graduated, one to the 1st round. Sexton is the next 1st rounder and a 3rd yr top 100 player the other. Backing these two up are guys who started at FL/USC and the other at Mich St but 2nd string OTs at OU. Our center is the top in the country. Some are saying our guard is the best OLman; I don't agree, I believe it's Sexton, but with the top center and sexton and people say he's the best shows we're better this year at guard. The other guard transfered in from a Joe Moore OL. Yeah, we won't lose at home (rarely ever do) and if we run the ball and don't turn the ball over on the road, we definitely won't lose to auburn or mu. Lsu is bad on D, and is taking a huge hit at qb. We'll see if you can buy a nil team at Ole Ms; hasn't worked yet. We've beat tex 11 out of last 14 yrs and they're worse this yr at wr, rb, db, dl and overall, and we are much better yet beat them last yr and people think they are the 2nd best team in the sec. In 25 yrs they only won the b12 4x. OU won it more than all the other teams combined. I'm glad the sec gave us the schedule they did, but it won't shut people up. Tex in '25 will be hyped up again next yr, and the next and the next. We've lived with it for decades. We just go out and beat them annually.

    Delusional OU fans "expect" 10 wins. Those of us who don't drink up the "sunshine and roses" local Oklahoma media crew, know that 8-4 is most likely with 7-5 and 9-3 being very possible and 6-6 or worse and 10-2 or better possible but extremely unlikely.

    Josh Mahler probably talking about a comment I made on his podcast. Been around a long time. I don't drink the espn kool-aid who sponsors the sec and makes more money whenever they can promote a sec team. I deal with facts. Fact: It's not as loud in an open air stadium as it is at Baylor, for eg, and newer stadiums like Osu's and ksu's. It's not like OU is coming from being able to hear the qb call plays at bu, osu, ksu whenever they are ranked and very good, but if we GO TO THE SEC--OH MY, IT'S SO LOUD YOU CAN'T HEAR THE QB CALL PLAYS! No, what I'm saying is that if you put a noise meter in the stadiums of bu, osu, ksu versus say auburn when auburn is good, there will be no difference or perhaps bu, osu, ksu are a little louder. The crowds in the sec aren't going to make any more of a difference than playing in the b12, and I doubt any are louder than bu's stadium or osu's new stadium with their paddles. Fans listen to the media hype and don't live in reality. Get a noise meter and you'll see facts.

      How do you know? Have you even been to any games in SEC stadiums. Do you know the comparison of the number of fans in the different teams' stadiums? How can you purport to assert a fact unless have the stats to back it up? You are just spewing conjecture. At least most of those "experts" have been to the stadiums and can actually tell the difference.

      @@SP-mh9qw I’ve been to KC Chiefs games which is known for how loud they are and I can tell you I’ve heard it just as loud or maybe even louder at KState, but that’s when they were good in 2000. I do think there’s something to smaller crowds being able to make just as much noise, IF, the acoustics are better. Anyone who tells you they know OU can handle the road SEC teams or they can’t handle them is speaking out their ass, because the fact is we won’t know until they play, because this is Arnold’s first year and the Olines first year together. Doesn’t mean they can or they can’t, it just remains to be seen.

    OU 10 wins? Lol
    See, as an outsider I am able to do something most OU fans can't, and that is look at this team objectively.
    Ou fans were fooled by the fact that ou played the "easiest schedule I have ever seen the university of Oklahoma play" - Teddy Lehman.
    This means fans got a false sense of who the team was last year, led by a super experienced QB.
    I think OU would be incredibly lucky to win 8 games this year, but I have them 7-5.
    With that said, I am not going to start judging Venables until next year, which isn't going to be easy either. OU will be losing almost all their o lineman again, almost their entire starting defense, and then 3-4 of their best receivers.
    The next 2 seasons is going to tell us alot about whether Venables is the guy or not.

    • @shawnjames3533
      @shawnjames3533 24 дні тому

      There's no false sense. When focused we were the team that beat texsa. With a lack of focus we struggled from UCF to Okie St. But this team improved significantly in the off-season. Arnold can come along slow at first with all the skill players around him. The offensive line has talent, some depth, and the most experience of any returning O-line room in the conference. They just need to gel together. And they do have arguably the best O-line coach in the country. And BB is the best developer of offensive linemen. He's the offensive line whisperer. Take the over.

    • @MidnightWolfSDJ
      @MidnightWolfSDJ 23 дні тому

      You are entitled to your opinion but I think you need more faith in your team than that. Sure it is possible we lose 5 games this season. That being said the question then remains which 5 games does OU lose? Tennessee? Homefield advantage with a really good defense and a decent offense says OU wins that game. Auburn? Auburn hasn't been that big of a team in several seasons. They have much to prove before they are respected. Homefield advantage against Auburn is a silly argument to make in the day and age of helmet comms. Texas? OU handled Texas on 2/3 side of the ball last season with what appeared to be lesser talent on paper. It was special teams play that kept Texas in that game. South Carolina? This could be a trap game, sure i can give you that, but similar to Auburn, they haven't done anything even with Spencer Rattler. The only advantage they have is hostile environment. Ole Miss? This is actually one i do predict a loss. I think Ole Miss will compete for an SEC Championship against the likes of Georgia. They appear to be ripe for taking over the SEC this season. Missouri? Missouri is my second predicted loss of the season. I think Missouri is another team to watch in the SEC this season. Plus Missouri will have OU circled on their calendar all season long due to their past. Alabama? With Saban gone Alabama will have some rough edges. They will still be a respectable team; however, they will most certainly have exploitable holes to take advantage of when it come to going from a Defensive minded head coach to an offensive minded head coach. Things take time to get your pieces where you want them. LSU? LSU's past is respectable but since Coach O has been fired, what have they proven? Last year they were over-rated with 3 losses and still in the top 20 half way through the year when there were plenty of 2 loss teams behind them. It was only SEC bias and branding that LSU remained relevant last season. They are not a team to fear this season until we know more about them half way through the year. They will have plenty of time to prove themselves before they play OU. This is why 10 wins is actually possible. This is why 10 wins is what I have predicted with a playoff spot to go with it! Boomer!

      @@shawnjames3533 you have absolutely no idea of this team has improved "significantly" in the off-season. Thats an absurd statement. You have not seen them, and they have played anyone yet, so an honest person cannot make that statement.
