Thanks for the walk through. What is the binding on your vest? Does the aerotek fray? Would that make binding?

That particular vest is bound with a knit binding you can find here. discoveryfabrics.com/products/knit-and-lycra-binding?variant=45549308805442
You could also get a similar appearance with fold over elastic.
The Aerospace Tech does fray a bit and has no stretch so I wouldn't recommend it for binding. You would certainly have to encase the raw edges.
