I remember going to watch the San Antonio Rodeo at Frost Bank Center back when it was AT&T Center and even before when the SA Rodeo was in the Freeman Coliseum. I thought it was a nice place at the time but that was almost 20 years ago lol
Exactly what I was gonna say. Plus, Moda Center is not even that bad. He eludes to it being decrepit but he's never even been to it. He just gives it shit bc it's in Portland. I've been there. It's easy to get around. Not a bad seat in the house, and I think the acoustics are great.
For sure. Portland also basically never demolishes their venues. They still have the Blazers original arena and utilized the old baseball stadium for the Timbers. They'll do a big renovation that includes updating the outside of the Moda Center as their next phase after the current renovation.
It's just been confirmed that the whole area surrounding Ball Arena in Denver which is mostly parking and Elitch Gardens Amusement Park is going to be redeveloped into more unaffordable housing and a river walk with a lot of trendy businesses to make a big yuppie playground for the rich... Kroenke Sports and Entertainment, the owner of the Nuggets, Avalanche & Ball Arena have committed the teams to stay in the area through 2050 and have a heavy financial commitment to the development as well... Nothing has been said about replacing Ball Arena though.... I'm all about improving an area but improvement shouldn't have to mean make something out of reach for the average person to afford... Denver, Colorado has been guiltier than most over the last decade of this and really should be ashamed of themselves especially the Governor and the last few mayors.... Sorry I got a little off track but I just had to say it...
Thanks for including the team name with each stadium mentioned. With most of the stadiums having corporate sponsors in their name, it’s really hard to keep up with who plays there.
Portland does not demolish sports venues. Moda will get renovated and stay standing for another 25 years and beyond. Portland does a good job of just recycling venues. Not that much space in the city to build.
The biggest set-back for the Canadian Tire Centre is its location, far removed from the urban centre of Ottawa. It's a great NHL arena just missing immediate access to a population base without a major connection to mass transit.
I love the idea of social spaces. (open spaces) If I go to a game at T - Mobile in Seattle to watch baseball I never just sit in one seat for nine innings. I love watching the game from different angles. So many little nooks and crannies to have a dog or beer. It''s nice to visit the viewing area's during middle innings and enjoy the view of Mt. Rainier, the water or downtown.
Here we go again with the slamming of Anaheim Stadium. Funny thing, none of us in the OC, IE, or the San Gabriel Valley dislike the venue. Want to ruin attendance and make things worse? Move to Long Beach. It would be extremely difficult to navigate the traffic there. Going to a game would not be worth the struggle.
Ottawa's problem is space. The capital has been built up over the past 150 years into a very dense concentration of government buildings, embassies, hotels, museums, housing, and parks, with little to no room for even a relatively small NHL arena. That is why CTC was built in the nearby suburb of Kanata in the first place.
Zero percent Moda Center gets demolished. They'll give it a big renovation that includes the outside. They just did a big renovation on the inside that replaced all the seating.
I found this interesting fact. Highmark, Inc. Stadium is located in the Buffalo suburb of Orchard Park, New York. (Highmark, Inc./Blue Cross-Blue Shield) is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) Acrisure, LLC Stadium is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. (Acrisure, LLC is headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan) Why didn't the Steelers negotiate with Highmark, Inc. since they're headquartered in Pittsburgh???
Youre correct about the first one. Tropicana field was destroyed in a hurricane. The city will not fund a new stadium. Its heavily rumored the Rays will be playing at George Steinberner field in 2025.
When you name the stadiums in question, Depressed Ginger, please tell the year it was built / renovated / and tell the teams that are playing there.. It's confusing for casual fans when you assume your audience has the same level of knowledge on these issues, as you do. Change and adapt to the knowledge level of all your audience, not just the ones who are superfans.
Soldier field will NEVER be demolished. There will most likely be a UFL team or something there if the Bears move. It’s too historical to be demolished.
Breaking News: my current house is old and needs a ton of work, but I'm building a new home and will be gone by 2027. So you can guarantee it will be demolished
I can GUARANTEE Soldier Field will never be demolished. It has landmark status, and simply can’t be. Maybe they’ll remove the UFO bowl, but the stadium will forever remain.
Yet this summer Cleveland Brown Stadium is hosting WWE Summerslam Also Climate Pledge Arena is now the oldest arena, MSG is 2nd oldest, Saddledome 3rd oldest
@dannygreene6257 I think you didn't see me PFP. That's literally ME in front of the Honda Center after a Ducks preseason game in 2019. I know the Seattle Kraken play there
If Empower Field is gone we might need to play potentially in like Netherlands for two years and further the Avs and Nuggets lease is more than ten years so do not let them move out of Ball Arena
My prediction: Jets to Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island or Nassau County Giants to Northern Manhattan, Bronx, Westchester, or Rockland county As for the Meadowlands, the stadium will be replaced with economic and housing development
Moda is not getting demolished. It has a reno coming this summer and it's not even that bad of a Arena. It's easy to get around, never a bad seat in the house, and the acoustics are great. You have never been here. You shit in Moda Center and the city of Portland alot. It's very clear your reasoning why is your political opinions of the city, It's people, and it's government.
Maybe once the Bears move out of Soldier Field, a Historical Organization can step in and can raise funds to rebuild Soldier Field back to how it would've looked when it was built, and could be relisted as a Historical Landmark
No..that's not the plan. Plan is to.demolish the space ship that landed on the stadium but keep exactly what they kept in 2003 when a spaceship landed on Soldier Field.
@@RobertDetert Well thats just painful. Good that their getting rid of the "Spaceship", but leaving it as it was when it was in the process of the 2002 renovations is just disrespectful. If your one of those people that doesn't care about history, then screw you!
I think Angel Stadium will be around longer.
I think Tropicana was supposed to be like a big tent. It ends up looking like a circus show tent. It's still serviceable, but a really bad venue.
If a stadium is structurally sound, there’s no reason to demolish.
Depressed Ginger should not guarantee things out of his control.
I remember going to watch the San Antonio Rodeo at Frost Bank Center back when it was AT&T Center and even before when the SA Rodeo was in the Freeman Coliseum. I thought it was a nice place at the time but that was almost 20 years ago lol

Moda center is getting a renovation this summer. It’s not being demolished anytime soon.

It looks nice from the outside, in my opinion. Definitely only need a renovation.
moda centre never be demolished. Moda centre is getting renovated this summer. Took a L on this one.

Al Davis Destoryed Oakland A's ballpark a long time ago!

The Frost Bank Center will NOT be demolished. it will be the primary venue for the SA Rodeo.
All of the 1990's arenas are probably going to be updated sooner than later.
Wrigley Field isn't going anywhere. I can't see The Cubs moving into a new stadium in the near future.
Wrigley Field will be around for a long time still
The same with Fenway Park.
@@RobertDetert Yeah Fenway Park just like Wrigley Field are two of MLB iconic stadiums also Dodger Stadium.

for #5 Angels Stadium- I knew you were gonna go there and I'm willing to bet money on that not happening, if it does though I will be so sad.
I have to agree.. If it ever is demolished it probably won't until 2040 the earliest.
I don’t know what his deal is with Anaheim Stadium. Who here in SoCal dislikes that stadium or it’s location?

Madison Square Garden is more of an NHL arena than NBA because the Rangers bring in more than the Knicks.
Exactly, that comment was outta pocket lmao
Smoothie King has to be close to making the list
There are preliminary plans to save the lower bowl of the Oakland Collesium & turn it into "something".
Lincoln financial field is a dump but then again so is the city that it's in

Agree 100%
Moda Center is getting a renovation this summer. Also I don’t think Portland has enough space to build another stadium so it’s not getting demolished
Also Moda is a good arena so stop talking trash about it.
Meadowlands Arena still exists
Tropicana field & the Oakland coliseum suck fedex field will be destroyed in 10 years
FedEx has a new name now, they are waiting for a new stadium first
Leaving out the Target Center but including Ball Arena is wild…
I’d be surprised if the Oakland Coliseum even makes it through 2024. It’s unfortunately one of those things that is much overdue for demolition.
Delta Center in Utah. SLC will need a new building that can house both the NBA and NHL.

Me too. 🤣🤣🤣
I can GUARANTEE Soldier Field will never be demolished. It has landmark status, and simply can’t be. Maybe they’ll remove the UFO bowl, but the stadium will forever remain.
No it doesn't. About 6 months after the "spaceship" was built, the landmark status for Soldier Field was taken away.
The new soldier field is not a landmark. The ugly space will be a parking lot for the new stadium
They'll probably incorporate the pillars and that outer wall into something else, but the rest of it will be gone.
The soldier Field collolades have landmark status. The guts of the statium are dmolishable.
@michaelmccormick3830 no they don't. The stadium lost its landmark status after the space ship was built
I bet slapping on a translucent roof on Oakland coliseum would make it state of the art 😂
fuck it why not , love that dump of a stadium regardless

If they don’t build a dome
Madison Square Garden is primarily a basketball arena? Maybe I should take you to a Rangers game there and see what you think afterwards!
MetLife is an enormous waste... How so much was spent of that dumpster fire, with no dome
My prediction: Jets to Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island or Nassau County
Giants to Northern Manhattan, Bronx, Westchester, or Rockland county

Met life was built by the jets and giants so it’s their own fault why it sucks so bad.
Smoothie King Arena and Delta Center need to go!
What about college stadiums for football and basketball
KeyBank Center in Buffalo will soon be getting a new roof and a new videoboard, so that isn't going anywhere soon.
