I made this many, many years ago back in the seventies..used mostly bacon grease ....warm it up add peanut butter , sunflower seeds ,millet I would pour this into aluminum pie pans for our chickens an some into milk cartons for the birds...then put into the freezer to set...then I would hang the cartons up with twine out on the trees...this is a great hit for all the foul and birdies....And the pans go to the chickens...

our chickens got hot "mash" every morning for breakfast. the veggie peelings from the night before were steamed in a big pan, with any leftovers, and then my mum added in the grain, and took it out to the chooks- I remember the happy noises they made totally content while mum took the eggs. All our chickens were ex battery hens - mum used to go and get them and they would come home with no feathers but it did not take long for them to look pretty and 'normal'. That was 50 years ago and I could smell that mash smell as you added the grains to the hot fat! You have happy hens and they look stunning. Go Sawyers!

Good video. We do feed our chickens left overs ( rice, green beans, peas, corn, etc) and they have a supply of laying feed, scratch and corn chops(cracked corn)...if we have left over grease, we usually pour over our dogs dry food...to give them some extra fat for winter as well...nothing goes to waste...

    Hi Jacob.
Thank you so much for showing this recipe.
Now I know what I can give to the prairie chicken.
Since 2month I have them here on are acreage.
I love it. I give fruit but don't like it.
I give them birdseed they only live the blacksun flower seed.
So tomorrow I can make thus for them.
The sleep overnight between all are spruce trees. So I will give it to them tomorrow evening.
They are almost the wholeday here.
Thank so much. Big hug Lenie.
The colours are orange head and blue under shin 2 blike stripes by the belly and brown front. Beautiful colours on the side and back fathers.
You both have a great weekend. God bless you all.🤗❤🤗🐓🐔🐥🐤

Great idea to use the “broth” for the liquid in the treat/portions. We’re a meat n potatoes family, I give my girls cut up medium raw prime rib, raw ground turkey meat, chopped bacon bits and I ferment their feed. Prior to all this, my layers weren’t producing regularly. Now, everyone is laying at least 4x a week. I have a bouquet of mut mix breeds so no one has a stereo type production stat 🤣🤣
