  • I had problems trying to use a rocker switch to operate my wiper motor. This is an aftermarket motor from RockAuto and made in you know where. Not sure if this issue would happen when using an OEM motor.

Good video! The dangerous catch here is that if You park it by removing just hi ground and leave low ground connected, it will park nicely but draws 5 amps when stopped !! So the speed selection must be done by connecting/separating the 2 ground terminals at motor, then grounding just the fast ground to chassis. But as You say, You still need a 2-pole switch.

Thanks for the input "Servolette". I see the issue with the still grounded pin. I have the wiper motor installed but not wired yet. Based on your input I think I will wire it up exactly like the OEM, but still using my switch. I can't change this video, so I will make a second explaining my wiring changes. I think YT allows me to change the title and description so I will make a reference the the second video. Coming soon. Much appreciated.

@@lexteakmialoki5544 No worries! Your video hits the spot: these early GM/Delco 'grounded switch' motors are a pain in the neck. They cant be wired with single pole 3-pos switch. I tried, then started watch UA-cam. Always do the opposite 🙂
I'm interrested to hear results from Your wiring experiment.
