I used to have many “New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh” VHS tapes. Disney packaged them under the Learning, Playtime and Friendship series during the 90s. I have a few of them currently.
The 1948 "Rudolph" cartoon was made for Montgomery Ward, by Jam Handy, a commercial studio. It was directed by Max Fleischer, who was head of animation at Jam Handy, having been screwed out of his own studios by Paramount. Adult voices and narration were by Paul Wing. It's unknown who voiced Rudolph.
Back in the 80s scenes from this toon was used in a tv commercial for Time Life Christmas records. 😉 I remember because Santa is drawn like a Middle Line Backer. 😂
The chokehold the theme song at 1:01:10 used to have on me... and still might to this day. I like to imagine "Winnie the Pooh and Christmas Too" was what was about to air.
38:53 - Max Fleischer's Christmas Comes But Once a Year was released in 1936 by Paramount Pictures. There's the HD restoration of this Max Fleischer cartoon.
Don't know if WABC-TV aired this back in the day. But I can say this..."Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer" (1948) and "Christmas Comes But Once a Year" (1936) have been given a magical restoration thanks to fans of the Fleischer Cartoons. Seeing these restorations put these old public domain showings with misplaced music or wrong pitch to TOTAL SHAME! Rudolph... watch?v=MkLO9PWdDz4 XMAS COMES... watch?v=1dfeokaw2xc And...something pretty close...Jack Frost (1934)... watch?v=M7Apq6ZnxF4 And given the time (5:58am to 7:01am) was WLS-TV 24/7 by then? I know WABC-TV went that route in 1987.
The Crisis Line PSA 30:16 scared me back then as a child. *shudders*
My daughter would have been 2. Her mother and I would have probably sat and watched this with her. Good memories. Good times.

Sounds like June Foray doing Rudolph’s voice
I think it's Gilbert Gottfried
@@speedgriffon2504not alive in 1948. Gilbert Gottfried born in 1955
Definately not June Foray. Her voice is VERY distinctive. 😉🎄
@@CHT420 I stand by my answer.
I was 6 in 92 so childhood memories unlocked with FIM and furniture ads😊
Victory Auto!! LOL! Look at that GROOOVY WIDE watch band that kid has on!
Always think the same thing when I see that commercial.
Why can't furniture be that cheap like in the commercial? Long Live Victory Auto Wreckers!
To victory!
Had no idea there was an earlier Rudolph cartoon.

WABC did air it as well.
"Yeah, we paid for none of this (besides our sponsors)!"
Or JEWEL/OSCO commercials
Oh the cartoon from PeeWee's holiday special, neat!
