You guys are awesome
I didn't see them all. Poor "innocent " Edward Norton's character I didn't see that one coming. I didn't see The Usual Suspects. That was a good story.
One that some people didn't see. Rich Man's Wife. The last time Barry's character was questioned I could tell that it was a story made up to get them both off. She was picked up by her "enemy ". What they said...
Memento wasn't a good movie for me. I couldn't follow.
Why are you charging for pop culture??! You're on a platform where everything is free!
I remember watching the Planet of the Apes for the first time and I did not see that ending coming at all. Taylor realizing he’s been on earth the entire time and that human civilization has basically been destroyed ending with him screaming ‘you maniacs, you blew it up’ is one of the most classic plot twists in movies and Charlton Heston played it perfectly!
How did you avoid ppl talking about the twist? After all the film is 50+ years old?😳
@CashelOconnolly Reading comprehension is clearly not your strong suit.
I guessed the twist in the first seconds of the movie
@@ioo3761 errrm the first seconds of the film would barely have enough time to put a credit up!😂
I bet you’re one of those ppl who say they know what Eraserhead means 🙄

Oh yey! Thank you. I want to add the movies here to my To Watch list but know there'll be spoilers. Glad to see that a lot of my favorite films made it.
Thank you so much!!
Thanks!
Sev7n needs to be seven. People who can't count are 100% sinners in my personal book. (Hisses)
WHAT !! No Sixth Sense ? I have seen most of these already so i didn't want to spoil the others for myself ,
i hope Mojo has been doing better vids as of late .
Oldboy is one of my favorite foreign films, along with Troll Hunter (2010). If anyone liked Oldboy, I recommend Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002) and Lady Vengeance (2005). All three are part of "The Vengeance Trilogy."
Dude ... Watch the Movie Remember with the late Christopher Plummer. A plot twist you can never see coming Ng a mile away.
I was not at all prepared for Oldboy’s twist… Poor Yunhee!
Troll Hunter was awesome
So surprised and happy that WatchMojo finally started to acknowledge underrated and unknown movies like 'Malice'.
There's another movie that should be on this list, 'Shattered' starring Tom Berenger.
I've watched almost all of these movies, and definitely epic twists. Although they all are solid, Memento, Shutter Island, and Oldboy hit hard years after watching them.
The Skin I Live In starring Antonio Banderas has to be one of the most shocking plot twist I've ever witnessed.
Tht was crazy
15:20 Edward Norton is amazing in "Primal Fear"!
Freakin' fantastic. I can watch that scene over and over and it will give me goose bumps every time.
I'm glad Arlington Road is on here...one of if not the most underrated plot twists ever in my opinion.
That movie bothers me to this day, pre-911 but post Oklahoma City, it said a lot more than was spoken, and the performances were amazing. The last lines, chilling. Joan Cusack is so underrated.
Having watched many twisted ending i never saw it coming.... was completely shocked & i wound say perfect ending (not a happy ending tho)
This needed to have No Way Out (1987) somewhere in the list. Maybe not the most shocking, but definitely in the top 20.
Thatt was good
YES!!!
"They blew it up" scene is really upsetting
Joan Cusack in Arlington Road is one of my favorite Villains of all time. She is so underrated. So chilling and yet understated in that role, the last lines still creep me out to this day,and the opening shots of the movie as well. Such an awesome little thriller that will shred your nerves.
I remember snippets of it when I was a kid
Oldboy should be considered horror because what happened to Oh Dea-su and Mi-do is just beyond horror.
The plot of old boy is so outlandish I dont know how it became popular.
Oldboy: doing incest before Game of Thrones made it cool.
Incest = FREAKING DISGUSTING.
🤢🤮
I am still shook by that "One plus one. Can it make one?" Incendies plot twist
Primal Fear is an amazing movie!! I can understand why Norton has such a grandiose Ego , he is very talented but I wish he would put that gift to use off duty as well and try to act humble?
The Hand that Rocks the Cradle would be good for this list.
Love that movie
That one doesn’t have any twists.
The Gone Girl twist was so good when that narration scene drops
Top 10 Horror Movies That Haven’t Lost Their Touch.
To this day, the “What’s In the Box” scene in Se7en still shocks me like it’s the first time I’ve seen it
It's creepy
@@Breexbloodlust and shocking
@@joshuamohlman yeh it is
Pitt- What's in the box?! Come on, oh man! What's in the box?!! Freeman- I knew it I should have ordered Jack in the box.
@@Trancymind lmao
Remember with Christopher Plummer is one of the best plot twist ever.
These are some of underated movies with a twist that I know of - The Body, The Invisible Guest, Julia’s Eyes, Boy Missing, The Hidden Face, Shrew’s Nest, What Josiah Saw, Harpoon, We Are What We Are (I find the Hollywood remake better than the original), 1BR, Hunter Hunter & The Lodge (not really a twist but oddly satisfying ending), Incendies, Ghost Stories (2017), The Gift, Time Crimes, The Secret In Their Eyes, Tesis, Girl on the Third Floor, Run, The Skin I Live In, Super Dark Times, Estranged, Madeo, Moon, Triangle, The Invitation, The Endless
I knew Arlington Road would be on this list!
i love this channel sm
How is Ava the villian in Ex Machina?
Caleb only decided to conspire to spring Ava after it/she flirted with him. If it/she had been a failed prototype iteration and not passed his interpretation of the Turing test, Caled would have doomed Ava to death and eventual repurposing.
Caleb could have done lots of much more honorable things - breaking his NDA, going to the press, he only acted the way he did because he was infatuated.
I thought for sure Fight Club would make this list.
We can not talk about fight club, so it can’t be in the list! :)
@@jenniferferguson1517 🙂
One of my favorite twists was when it’s revealed Eli is blind in Book of Eli.😊❤
Agreed!! 😮
Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! Amazing collection of plot twists in the movies. I'll watch the ones I have missed. 🤣
A pretty good list. Surprised I didn’t see Vanilla Sky or Oblivion. Am I the only one that didn’t believe Nick did it in Good Girl. He was just too stupid. It felt obvious he was set up.
Yeah I love vanilla sky it’s quite the trip
15:09 You maniacs! You blew it up! You blew it all to Hell!
Porky: “Made in Taiwan.”
Daffy: Hmm, what do you know? No, it can’t be! Why?! Why?! Why?!
-From “Planet of the Taz,” _Looney Tunes: Stranger Than Fiction_
Predestination not being on this list is criminal
The Others (Nicholas Kidman)
You did not mention Irreversible...that one striked me the most...with Oldboy on the first place...!
I watched Arlington road when I was a kid (with my parents) and I never hear this movie referenced. The ending disturbed me so much as a kid that it has stuck with me all these years later. I remember all of us yelling at the television screen during that last twist like "That's how it ends?! But it's so not fair! That's messed up!" Lol Glad to see it referenced here.
I have never seen it. I have real trouble with bombs and explosions but what a great ending. Just read about the plot etc and Tim Robbins is perfect for delivering that last line with such a cold stare.
Yeah it would have scared the crap out of me as a kid too. It’s the sheer desperation of trying to save his son and the fact none of them can escape the inevitable.
I watched Oldboy for the first time like 2 weeks ago I'm still in shock tbh
It deserves the number 1 spot. I watched most of the movies in the list and Oldboy is the only one that made me want to scream when they revealed the plot twist.
wow, buried is dark...almost as dark as the original the vanishing!
Despite Memento being too low, I'll give you props for putting Incendies up there.
For me The Sixth Sense, Saw, Oldboy, The Others, Dead Silence, The Usual Suspect, The Game, Seven, The Bone Collector, Taking Lives, Orphan, High Tension
The Sixth Sense, Saw, The Others, Dead Silence, Orphan, and High Tension are all horror films
@@adityaparikh8237 yeah I know I just love their twist
@@adityaparikh82376th sense and Saw are both Psychological thrillers, not horror movies. A lot of movies on this list are psy thrillers
@@yaxel38 If you love the "twist" in High Tension, your opinions on ANYTHING are invalid in perpetuity.
@@jenniferferguson1517 yes but they have also been called Horror films many times and that’s why they aren’t on this list.
Oldboy is my favorite movie of all time and i still get chills at the reveal scene
Primal Fear & Old Boy are Chef's Kiss!
I like to think Jake from Chinatown went back and killed that SOB, a P.I. would be able to get away with it
I thought Snow Piercers twist was that they used the kidnapped children to make the train go
Shutter island was crushing when the twist came
20 years later and now I get the joke when Dave Grohl said on Australian tv that Vegemite was made of people!!!
10:53 good question 11:53 the meme!
The twist in Oldboy made me feel sick to my stomach the first time I saw it
Gone baby gone has a unexpected plot twist aswell, and the little things things - denzel Washington, jared leto
What about "Predestination". Sci-fi with a really weird twist, based on a Robert Heinlein short story. It's such a mind-frak.
No one is gonna mention the twist in Titanic, the Ship Sinks!
Nightmare Fuel in a nutshell
Soylent Green is... a great film... ruined by the twist being unleashed on the world. I luckily saw past the crap of the reveal to the amazing flick that it is. But many people can't look past the goofiness of the twist. This would be on the list of the greatest movies of all time if that twist were treated more seriously.
I believe oh dae so memory was erased, it's why he smile at the end, it's so he can have a happy life with her. I see it as a HORROR movie and a love story. It was brilliant! The music score just beautiful and that scene in the snow was film in New Zealand. Just f@@k up I learned about this gem from the BY killer bc he was obsessed with the film
I not so long ago saw a Korean movie called I want to know your parents and it had a pretty good plot twist. Like from the beginning you can kind of guess where its going(its school bullying suicide story) but then it goes completely different. Is very frustrating to watch at times. Also there is another movie but the twist is more the genre change in the end. There is a movie called once upon a time in high school(another Korean movie). It goes from coming of age teen movie to a martial arts action movie in last couple minutes.
Sorry to bother you, but I'm an Old Boy with an Unbreakable Primal Fear over a Conversation with a Malicious Machinist and Seven Usual suspects over a Memento I Buried on Arlington Road in Chinatown, Shutter Island on the Planet of the Apes.
Girl, I was Gone over Soylent Green.
I have an idea for a new video: Top 10 Times Children’s Book Tackled Serious Issues

The Others, The boy in the striped pyjamas, The Life of Pi
I haven’t seen most of the movies on this list, I thought there were be more movies I have seen
How about the twist in Lost Highway?
Now why wasn't Mayor Bellwether from Zootopia on the list
How the helll you gonna put ex-machina in this list but not show upgrade any love?!?!?! Stem was helping solve a murder he arranged became sentient and was the only survivor now walking amongst the humans
Right when I was watching one on plot twists
buried still haunts me
Not seen their number one yet, I predict The Girl with th Dragon Tattoo
Soylent Green… how horrifically brilliant
Did you guys put that clip upside down on purpose??
Two Charlton Heston movies!
12 outta 20 not bad...smile
Are you guys serious? What about in Arlington Road, the fact that they put the bomb in Michael’s car because they knew how determined he would be to get in the building? Did the writer even watch the movie???
Why not include the horror genre for this list? Incest (accidental or otherwise based on Oldboy 2003 and Incendies 2010) is absolute horror!
14:30 the moment she connected the dots and realized everything is so well played by the actress that is disturbing to watch
"Cave Johnson here. Just wanna let the cafeteria staff know to lay off the soylent green. I'm holding a memo from the President, and it turns out that soylent green is... How is Arrival not part of this list!??
No one in the history of time has played the Everywoman better than Rosamund Pike in Gone Girl. A chillingly accurate portrayal of every woman you've ever met.
Every woman you met was a psychopath??
speaking of "Soylent Green" i thinking about "Fried Green Tomatoes".
Incendies is an incredible movie made even more if you don't know the ending
Great list watchmojo.
The movie Buried had potential it made me mad at the end but I guess they wanted it be as realistic as possible..
Buried was a waste of time.
18 and 19 were both technically buried alive
Happy 50th anniversary to Soylent Green.
Thrillers count with horror to
Incendies....just wow.
Whaatz in da baaaaax??
Chinatown is so damn bleak. Like, (spoilers) not only do we find out the main female lead has been impregnated by her own dad and that he's going to get away with it because he's too powerful for anyone to touch, but she gets shot through the head while trying to escape with her kid/sister and the kid/sister is taken by her father/grandfather with the strong implication that he's going to do the exact same thing to her and there isn't a damn thing anyone can do. No justice, no hope, just good people doomed to a horrific fate, monsters getting away with it and the only closure for our lead being" Forget it."
Cause that's just Chinatown.

I dont think Soylent Green should be on the list. Its a famous reveal, but the movie was never about what was in it, so there was nothing to twist
