Bart does what I do. I want my kids to know that you will make mistakes but how you correct them and learn from your mistakes is what matters. As well as never be too prideful to not apologize for your mistakes. I don’t want my kids to think that the world is cupcakes and rainbows. Specially my girls. I don’t want my kids to be soft and think that things will bend to them.
never be too prideful to not apologize for your mistakes is such a big one that a lot of first-gen parents miss out on. It builds your kid's confidence of knowing what's right or wrong and for them to form their own opinions. I didn't realize until I was older that my mother would sincerely always think she was right even at times where she wasn't. She even had a display piece on the wall that said "mother always knows best" lol. started to hold resentment towards her as I got older too after realizing these things and her staying the same which isn't good for the both of us
Not yet a parent, but looking at this from a perspective of an adult who was once the clueless impressionable child, there are a lot of nuances and complexities to both sides. Like you would want to protect/shield your child from the bad stuff yet you risk them messing up cause they were clueless and unaware. The opposite side is that you would be completely honest with them and use those bad stuff as a lesson/learning yet they might glorify or actively seek it out cause they were too impressionable. Like I experienced both sides and the results varied, there were things my parents shielded me from that could have been helpful information that prevented me from committing those things/mistakes. There were other times that they were completely honest with me and lectured me about things that I kinda twisted and convoluted in my mind because I wasn't able to fully realize/understand the point they were making. I think the more interesting thing is determining the level of maturity of the kid first and gauging their response and understanding of certain topics before deciding to either immerse them in it or shield them from it. And the maturity part can happen regardless of how old they are, some kids are able to recognize the lessons and dangers at a young age while others are more impressionable and naive to be taught those lessons or exposed to those things early. Joe and Steve's points are example of that, Joe was curious and impressionable as a child so he kinda twisted the stories and glorified them. Steve, even if exposed to those stories, still had to experience the same things in order to grow and fully understand the lesson/value from them. So it's a really complex balance and it can differ from parent to parent and even child to child.
Great episode. The more I hear about Joe, the more I realize I probably would’ve had a similar life to Joe, if my parents weren’t so strict. They also never asked Kalyne what she wouldn’t want her future kids to find out about her (if she decides to have kids).
Technically I don't believe Ryan really answered the question from the perspective of if he were to have kids, so much as wondering what OFs content creators would feel if they had kids. Other than that, he seemed to direct the prompt to the married crew members.
I’m 21, and From personal experience between me and my parents. I feel like satisfying a kid’s curiosity is better than leaving them to figure out themselves. You can never really control anyone except yourself but the only thing you can do is offer them guidance. ALTHOUGH it is still up to them to let your advice guide them or not. My dad was a rebel with his own parents and went on to go be in gangs and sell drugs. He went through alot of traumatic experiences and wasn’t able to communicate properly with me. Being unable to relate to my dad, I got a little curious and left home so many times for women, money, acceptance, etc. I guess In conclusion, if my dad had been more relevant in my life, I felt like a lot of my curiosity wouldn’t have taken me so far away from my family.
I genuinely think a ton of OF girls will regret it when they're older. You already see some of them that do. Imagine having something you decide to do and put out into the world when you're as young as 18 be out there forever. 99% or girls on there will not reach the infinite life of luxury from OF but that's what they've been sold on
I'll say this, when people ask these girls "what if your kid gets bullied" to guilt their conscience, I just think, isn't bullying the wrong act here and not necessarily her service in the past? So why are we placing misplacing the guilt of the wrong act as if she is the one abetting the bullying? People..especially children in this case could be bullying you about literally any butt fuckin ass thing in the world. You wear a rad hairstyle, heck they'll bully you and say it's wack. Also isn't the point of kids making fun on an OF kid mean that they picked that up from their own parents mocking on sex business (like extreme conservative religious mocking "infidels"). If we're talking ideals here, and we really want to moral police to "protect children" I think the situation would be less complex if we'd hope we'd build a future where terrible levels of bullying is not as entertaining, and that all starts from the parents and what they reflect. Where we all give each other a less tough time as parents. If that isn't built, that would be a regret to have. Not the Janitor picking caca with his hand to clean your place, or the OF gyal jiggling her cheeks to make a man on the other side of the screen feel he had a good day.
The thing about OF being moms in the future is that they all think they are going to be rich when their kids find out 😂😂😂 most of them will be struggling single moms 🤷🏼♀️. All the kids will need therapy and the moms will gas light them and call them insecure.
Things I would be scared to tell a lot of people in general is my past, because I’m not proud of those things. Be at the same time, the consequences of me doing those things made me a better person now. I’m only 21 btw. Things like that, I would honestly be scared to tell my future partner of those things, because they might think I’m not the person I am.
Kids are just gonna call you out these days . Teenagers, some are cool. Some are a hormone roller-coaster regardless of upbringing. Basically, im saying there is no handbook for parenting
Thanks!
Thank You!!!
When they brought up Steve’s sister I thought he was gonna tell his future son you keep your eyes off my wife 😅😂
