Review of the Geo W. Hughes Ajusto stub nib

  • This is a review of the "Ajusto" nib by Geo W. Hughes using Noodler's American Eel ink. The ink is a lubricated ink. The nib is an italic nib with what I call a turned up tip. The tip of the tines is turned up like a globe or oval nib. The nib is made of a brass type of material. There is what I will call a moderate amount of flex with this nib. Aside from the turned up tip, which I have not seen before with this kind of nib, it is much like the Esterbrook 314.

    Interesting nib, but what is ajusto, assuming that the neologism refers to adjustability? I think it wrote well enough on paper. Older neologisms often have a corney quality. One good reason for commerce keeping their distance, n'est-ce pas?
