    I can’t remember what that piece of fabric they wear on the back of their bun is called but I love it when they’re a pale color instead of red. iirc they only do that in the summer. I guess I just like the kanzashi they wear in the summer because I much prefer the little ball they wear on the side of their hair (I forgot what they call that too) when it’s green instead of red. I think they only do that during the summer as well.

      That piece of fabric is called the Tegara ^^ It's worn by senior Maiko with their Ofuku hairstyle and changes colors depending on how close they are to their erikae. For example, when they first change to Ofuku it's red, but as they continue their training it changes to pink, blue, even green! You're thinking of the Hana Kanzashi at the front ^^ That Kanzashi as well as the "Bridge" kanzashi changes every month to reflect the blooming flowers and events that are celebrated during those months ^^ For example, the Kanzashi she's wearing in this video is of Uchiwa fans to reflect the summer heat and festivals celebrated in August^^

      @@moushimoushi8963 oh thanks for telling me about the tegara. I wasn’t talking about the hanakanzashi though. I was talking about the pin with the large bead at the end they wear on the back, near the base of the bun with the tegara. In summer it’s Jade and the rest of the year it’s coral. I can’t remember what it’s called for the life of me lol

    Man how incredibly disrespectful it is to have your audible phone shutter loudly clicking during such a performance. SILENCE UR PHONES PEOPLE.
    (Edit: Ah, Japanese phones have to have a shutter noise at all times? While I understand it’s purpose that must be very annoying for all stage performances)

      Japan has a huge issue with people taking unsolicited photos, especially upskirt photos, so they can't silence the sound their phone or camera makes when they take a photo^^ Photography however is allowed at ozashiki ^^

      Orsolya Anikó Szkárosi I think it’s because it’s the summer. It looks like she’s wearing hanakanzashi for July, and the red ball she wears on the back of her head is green which suggests it’s summer as well.

    • @moushimoushi8963

      It's because she was coming close to celebrating her Sakkou stage, it doesn't have anything to do with the seasons, however Edie&Andy is right about the ball at the back, that's called the Tama which is made of red coral for October to May and is switched to Green Jade for June to September ^^

    • @edienandy
      @edienandy 4 роки тому +2

      The name of this song/dance is Yuugure-ni (夕暮れに). I think it means At Twilight or At Night, something like that. The geisha looks like she’s from Miyagawacho so she would be dancing Fujima-ryu’s version of the choreography for the dance.
