Thanks for repeating again the guitar and bass goddesses' incredible epic performance. Akane's great in the pocket drumming framed Kanami's and Misa's duel perfectly. Truly amazing.
Thank you for the positive reaction. Miku, the rhythm guitarist, writes most of their lyrics, but in this case it's Saiki, the singer. She seems to have something on her mind, and does a good job. It's a great performance from the band and you can't tell it's song no. 27 on the setlist that particular night. What endurance and determination!
I'd love to sit in on a rehearsal. I know they work very hard, and Kanami runs their rehearsals. She might be a strict taskmaster but I assume they leave a little time for horsing around and having fun. They push each other hard but they also have respect for each other. So when MISA and Kanami join back up towards the end of the solo section, you can see Miku on that riser behind Akane at the base of that giant video screen, pumping out power chords behind them. All for one and one for all!
Hello, Band-Maid's Hate? live at Lollapalooza Chicago was great, but even more than Lollapalooza, the camera work and sound at Yokohama Arena were the best. And since the venue was huge, it was a great show where you could fully enjoy Kanami and MISA's bold and dynamic performances.
These ladies are top tier musicians, and really great friends, so it helps in their playfulness on stage! While it is rare for Saiki to swear, she ends "Start Over" with a "F" bomb, and on the US Tour it wasn't unusual for her to hype the crowd with a "Lets Go FxxKing Crazy!" The audience of course went crazy at that! Band-Maid has so much fun, it's infectious!
I saw Band-Maid live last year in May and they were amazing. Their sound was perfect and the ladies were playful and smiling giving the fans in Austin, Texas a memorable experience. They were so beautiful in person and they interacted with the crowd quite a bit with some English. I was in front of Misa on bass on the front row and loved that show and I hope to see them again soon.

No-one can say Kanami is a lazy guitarist. She always is doing something cool. Sometimes it’s in the background, sometimes not, but damn is it always great. Same with Misa and Akane, btw.
Great review! It didn't seem 15 minutes long; I usually draw the line at 10. I can see you are going to enjoy working your way through their huge catalog. I've been a Maidiac for 4 years and still listen to them every day,mostly through the many reviewers I find. So, keep going; I'm with you. I think maybe you should check out some of the acoustic versions of their songs, starting with Catharsis. Then perhaps their rival band Band Maiko who are just as good as Band-Maid with the song Gioncho.
