This is called "wet brining" there is also a "dry brining" method depending on the type of meat you are preparing. The purpose of this method is that the salt that is combined with the warm/hot water helps the tissue to breakdown. See meat tissues when cooked contract, and in turn the "juice" are released causing the meat to be tough. But the wet brine when cooked the meat actually expands, and releases the sodium that has been absorbed during the brining process. This helps the meat(s) to be tender when cooked. I highly suggest adding spices to the brine this way the meat has more of a rich flavor. But yes, very good video. (The information I provided comes from my father who is a certified chef.) Bon appetite!
Thank you 🙂
Thanks for sharing 👍
Why would you have to to sift the flour ?
That looks so delicious, can you come to my house for a day 😂
H&
I found a recipe on youtube very close to this the only difference is they switched the hot water for simmering the chicken in hot milk or buttermilk and used the same seasonings until the chicken was half way cooked then use the same coating as this and it was the juiciest and yummiest fried chicken I have ever had! 😋😋
Sounds fantastic, I'll have to try the hot milk or buttermilk, probably the buttermilk though because I think it will give the chicken a more rich flavor compared to the milk. Thanks for sharing.
@@allanheinrich7184 I've only tried it with milk but I will do the buttermilk, I've heard its even better. I'm sure you will NOT be disappointed! Taste better than any Fried Chicken I every had my picky eating kids loved it. 😁😁
@@Breezy-bv9teyes try butter milk it will make the chicken more crispy.
@@allanheinrich7184Try it with butter milk. It will make the chicken more crispy.
I’ve marinated chicken in buttermilk but never simmered it in hot buttermilk. Not sure that would make a difference.
My favorite part is when you poured salt in the water! How did you do that so gracefully? It was amazing! My new favorite internet cook! So original and brave!
Perfect recipe, thanks for sharing yummy
I've used every different cut of a chicken and it comes out juicy inside and crispy on the outside and I 100 percent attribute this to the marinade and not over frying the chicken. Fry to an internal temperature of 165° Fahrenheit and rest the chicken for 4 to 5 minutes before serving. Mmmmmm !
So much better and cheaper than kfc
@@notofthisworld7777yes kfc fell off. Very over priced. Home cooked chicken is better. Lol
Thank you for this recipe tutorial! I'm definitely going to try it.
Good fried chicken doesn't need any sauces
While I agree, that sauce did look nice.
Exactly!
Y'all youngins new to this, welcome to the club. Been taught to do this in the early 80s. However, we season the meat and flour
Amen. That's how we do it in Nashville too.
Wow!!! This looks amazing. I can't wait to try this. Thank you!!!
We LOVE fried chicken .I have been cooking for over 60 years and make very good fried chicken so you keep up the good work and know you are teaching young cooks your skill. 😊❤❤ OH I'm watching from California USA
This fried chicken recipe looks so delicious; it looks simple and easy to prepare. The paprika made a difference to give a vibrant color to the fried chicken. Well dine! 👍 😊

I may have to give this recipe a try.
Now those are some good looking drumsticks.
That chicken looks delicious 😊
Nice 😋 😋
Yummy..in the culinary world we call it brining the chicken , make sure the hot water cools by adding ice.. yummy 😋 it makes chicken moist..
First time seeing sugar used in a brine.?
Just a little it's amazing add thyme, garlic and anything you like 😋
It should cool during the 6 hour marinade without the ice if the 6 hours are spent in the refrigerator and not just sitting out on a counter or something and if the chicken did sit out, I'd be worried about salanoma.
that pesky salanoma
@@allanheinrich7184 you don't let it sit out it goes in the frig the hot water just dissolve. Your cooking the chicken in the hot water..
❤❤❤ جميله جداا تسلم ايدك ❤❤❤❤

Made me so hungry
Awesome 😊
Nice video, your presentation is son clear and.conciae
Tasty
Suatu hari nanti saya mau coba untuk memasaknya
Instead of using the egg flour first coating you can use buttermilk or milk and it tastes great too. Your chicken looks fantastic!
Wow very nice
Nice. Use buttermilk instead of water in your wet batter. Out of brine, go dry then wet then BACK to dry pressing hard on each piece. You'll have a much better result with this.
Yummy
Very nice
That's a lot of flour and other ingredients for 6 chicken legs.
I'm leaving this comment regarding one of the first video shots showing such a tiny pan of oil. I have found good deep frying techniques to include a very large heavy pot that can retain the temperature of the oil despite putting several pieces of chicken in.
less oil saves $$$ in these hard times
That is beautiful!💚💜💚💜💖☺
Wet or dry you just to find a recipe and marinate your meat and then cook it and VOILA you got yummy in your tummy
You've done a very good job frying that chicken!! Give yourself a Pat On The Back!!😂😂👍🏾👍🏾🙏🏾
Superb
I'm gonna make this!
Bravo❤
V nice
That's Country and Crispy......CASE CLOSED
No way im going through all that for a few chicken legs😂😂😂
dip and fry... is too much work? Be honest, on a scale from 1 million to 1 billion... how rotund are you?
I agree almost fell asleep so slow

❤ super
SO DELICIOUS!
Nice discovery
👍
Yamyyyy
Be sure to cool the brine in the fridge before adding the chicken to marinade.
No wonder my ‘fried’ chicken never worked when I was young, (40 yrs ago) no one told me about the cornstarch! I gave up trying to make it.
Ignore negative comments, this looks wonderful. Negative yuks - turn the sound off if it bothers you. Blood in legs, cook it more, duh.
There aren't any... what's the point that comment? Because, honestly, your comment is the most negative that I've read here.
so it should be sitting in that hot boiling water for 6 hours on the counter or in the fridge?
Homemade thousand island
Great video! Please… Curl your fingers back when chopping/slicing or you’ll one day lose them!
when u marinate do i leave it out or put it in the fridge?
Fridge
Leave it. It's using hot water.
❤❤❤
I like fried chicken.
What kind of oil is best fir chicken? I've been told its peanut oil.
😍❤️
I hope at the end Thanksgiving or Christmas
I hope the 6 hours to marinate the chicken, is spent in the refrigerator.
Yes, me too. Putting raw chicken in hot water and then marinating for 6 hours , that needs to be mentioned.
it's plainly obvious... do you need that micromanaged?
quedò delicioso
It feels like this video is in slow motion..
👍👍👌👌🍀🍀❤️❤️
The most important ingredient is the Cooking Oil. What oil they use???
Thank you! I’m doing this right now with 5 pieces legs and breasts!
Good fried chicken don 't need sauce, especially that sauce, doesn 't go with it, just wasted time!
