Please Recheck Film’s Place! Fixed, solved, answered, error code. Some people type it in as Please Recheck Films Place. This happened on my Wolverine Film2digital MovieMaker. I suspect it may also happen to similar machines.

I've been transferring tons of these 8mm and Super 8. Sometimes it's the advancer mechanism that seems to be jamming. Because the left side is rolling freely. The right side is just trying to advance the film to roll it up. It just gets locked up. A lot of times I can predict that it's going to start locking up because it starts to make subtle tigntening noises. (I don't even mean the crank noise... it just sounds like something is slowing down, and then the crank noise comes in)

Ok...I just tried something, and it seems to have worked, although you have to sit there and hold a reel. But at least it saves from having to redo the transfer or stitch them together in an editing program.
For me, the problem is the middle advancer/clicker thing that moves the film is getting stuck or off sync. But this combined with the right hand reel trying to advance the film along and reel it onto the reel lol. So, the middle advancer is tripping up, but the right reel is pulling it, making things worse.
So what I did was hold the right reel and stop it from continuously advancing. So the film on the right side is being fed through, but not getting taut. But allowing the right reel to put the film onto the reel (I don't know how to not repeat "reel" because it's a noun and a verb). Put simply, slow the right hand reel so it's not pulling on the middle advancer if it starts to trip up.
It's kind of painstaking, but it seemed to work for me when it gets stuck.
I haven't tried the lithium grease as mentioned in the post below. I may try it. Although, this problem doesn't happen for every reel. I've gone through some reels with no problem.
If you can let the me know if the grease worked so others who read this comment may know if it worked for you. Thanks for the information.
@@super8tovideo It's weird...I just recently converted a bunch of old reels, from the 60's to the 80's. Most of them were fine. I don't know if the jamming has to do with the film perforations and the advancer somehow getting stuck. Maybe it's not spaced out correctly on the film? Anyway, I didn't really end up having to use the grease. I don't know what to say, but the grease didn't end up being necessary to me. I guess it could be tried by someone having issues. Maybe it will work for them.
I wonder is there any chance you have what is call double eight film. There was some eight millimeter film that was literally 16 millimeter film that was split into two pieces the long way. They did this to save money. I do not really know exactly how it worked but it was done by hand and sometimes one half the film was a little wider on one reel and the other half was a little bit narrower. I could tell a gear was stuck inside. I slammed it a couple times on the table and it broke it fee. works fine now
Thanks for sharing this! I have a Magnasonic and haven't run into this message. But what I have found is that some really old super8 that was originally badly underexposed (ie, eg fireworks at night) has now turned almost solid blue - and it seems much "thicker". It invariably "screeches" and then jams. For this I use your folded paper trick to back off the pressure plate (even 4 layers sometimes isn't enough!).
Thanks for sharing this because it helps other people with their problems as well. Did you clean this reel or something I am wondering why it turned solid blue. That sounds like the emulsion layer peeled off or washed away. Do you know what caused it ?
@@super8tovideo Film is from 1973 - I didn't clean it, nothing flaked away - it's inside the emulsion - what was once the night sky image (or severely underexposed) is now a solid cyan "noise". Possibly it was due to poor "fixing" during development, maybe combined with poor storage conditions. I find that whenever I run into sections of film like that the friction in the gate goes up dramatically and the only way to prevent it from screeching and halting is to use your folded paper trick.
Hello! Wondering if you had any ideas - my wolverine is making the same clicking noises and gives the same error, but the film is not jammed in either direction - nothing is preventing it from pulling and there is no problem with the second reel spooling either. Seems like after a few minutes of conversion, the little prong that advances the film just stops moving. The fix in the video did not resolve it, the film is in good condition (as well as it happens on multiple reels that previously gave me no issue) and I can't find any other information that might explain the issue. Any thoughts you have are appreciated!
I wish I did know, never had that problem. I would call Wolverine Tech support at 949-458-9888 They usually answer the phone quickly. You will talk with a person as well not some bot. If they do resolve the issue please let us know here so other`s can find out if it is happening to their machine as well. Hope that helps.
I'm having the exact same problem, exactly as you have described it.
I had this same problem with my Wolverine Moviemaker Pro, advancing pin would freeze up and the error would be displayed. I took the back off and found that the gear at the bottom of the motor was not moving freely. When I got it un-stuck, I applied some white lithium grease to these gears and to the top of the cam plate ( that makes the pin go up and down). This also lubricated the eccentric cam that makes the pin go back and forth. Problem solved. The motor now turns freely by hand.

I have the same issue the pin get stuck even with no film in the path. it just sits there and makes a grinding noise. Sometimes I can push it along with the long skinny Micro screwdriver, l it'll work for a little while but then it starts again. I was thinking of shooting some WD-40 not in a slot, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea.
This did not fix my problem.
