  • ♧ Red Beans Black Glutinous Rice Dessert ♧
    This is a nourishing dessert that is suitable for all, and especially good for ladies
    Red beans and black glutinous rice are rich in iron, protein, dietary fiber and lots of other vitamins.
    From TCM learnings, when cooked together, the dessert is said to build Qi, improve blood circulation, nourish yin and expel coldness in body.
    Typically at least 1.5 - 2hrs of cooking and overnight soaking of the red beans are required. However, with the Philips All-in-One cooker, I can achieve this perfect consistency in less than an hour and pre-soaking of the beans is unnecessary. The red beans retained the roundish shape yet the interior had been broken down and has a mushy soften texture. While the black glutinous rice gave a nutty fragrant and is slightly chewy. The dried tangerine peel added refreshing tanginess to the dessert. When served with slightly salted coconut milk, you'll enjoy a rich flavor.
    ☆ Ingredients:
    • 250g Red beans
    • 100g black glutinous rice
    • 4-5 stalks pandan leaves
    • 1 dried tangerine peel
    • Honey rock sugar
    • Salted coconut milk
    • Water
